Well after that expected result today, which I tipped correctly, there should be a couple of changes.

Quite a few players have been plodding along this year and being carried and taking games for granted.

Outs - Rayner (he is either injured / severely unfit / taking his spot for granted because he was disinterested today (as he has all season) and just couldn't keep up with his opponents), Mathieson and Roberston (Charlie Cameron should be dropped, but won't, so it is the threechanges for mine)

Ins - Cutler (say what you like about him, but he is head and shoulders above half the seniors), Lester and Ben Keays (deserves a shot given what he has shown in the NEAFL)

I’d go

Out: Rayner, Hodge, Lyons
In: Keays, Lester, CLyons/ESmith

Would like a decent lockdown defender but it’s hard to read the form of the reserves at the moment.

Rayner should arguably be dropped but I can't help but wonder if the big time game will recharge him. Would probably give him one more chance because despite low output he's been able to kick some goals and it's the sort of stage a player like him can just explode.

Cam Rayner has been off this year and a spell in the reserves wouldn't do him any harm, if he goes out it would have to be Keays or Cox in going on form in the NEAFL the last 2 weeks.

Tom Cutler really was ordinary today in the NEAFL, too much me me me footy from him.

What we are in need of is someone who can run, carry and overlap receive from the back half, is Answerth worth a go? Coming off a 5 day break maybe Luke Hodge gets a rest.

Out- Lyons, Hodge, Rayner.

Ins- Cox, Hinge, E.Smith.

Dodongo can't see Rayner being dropped. Rayner kicked two last week and he is needed next week. Dodongo wouldn't drop Rayner anyway.

Dodongo thinks its a waste of time mentioning Cutler until he does what the coaches want him to do. He will come in when he has met his KPI's.

Cox is nowhere near AFL level. If changes are made it will be minimal and will feature Lester, Keays, Berry, Smith, Answerth before Cutler and Cox

Its funny how certain players are held to a higher standard. Cutler supposedly isn't doing what the coaches want, yet people want to say Rayner is. If being lazy, having no urgency and failing to chase or continuously dropping marks is want the coaches want, then I guess he is doing everything required. Sure he kicked two the week before, but it was a pretty lackluster effort punctuated by about 4-5 dropped marks and the week against North, he wasn't much better.

I like Cam, but if he wasn't a no.1 draft pick and many other on our list put in those same efforts, people would rightly be saying he needs to go back to the NEAFL and find some footy and form.

Joooize...70 point pies win coming right up.

I agree with Dodongo regarding Rayner- excepting injury he stays. Need to look to the future and get as many games into him as possible.

If Cam isn't dropped this week it will start to raise some questions about the selection process. I love Cam, he is my phone back ground for gods sake, but if anyone else put together that effort and performance today, they would be dropped.

I think you are right. As much as you want to back the young talents in you also need to set standards around performance and work ethic. From memory he responded pretty well to being dropped last time and worked his way back into the team. Might do him some good to go and get some confidence in the 2's.

He's never been dropped .

Well, not at least in his AFL career with the Lions

Including today, he's played 26 games straight for us since his debut in Round 1 2018.

Take it from one who's had to extract foot from mouth on more than one occasion.

DO NOT RELY ON MEMORY

With the new rule about kicking out in marking contests, made famous by Toby Greene's karate kicks in marking contests, I'd expect Hipwood to be cited and suspended on the basis that David Myers received a very bloodied face and had to be removed from the field.

Plus Michael Christian and the MRO usually like to make examples out of incidents involving Brisbane players, particularly in unique incidents such as this.

I'm expecting Hipwood will not be available for the Collingwood clash and perhaps the following week or two.

Mathieson probably should come out. Poor game.
You’d have to think Luke is a bit tired.
Rayner didn’t look too flash today. Looked lazy.
NRobbo was comprehensively outplayed.
Witherden was appalling, and appears to have some attitude problem.
Christensen provided very little.
I’m also not convinced we need two pretty slow ruckman.

Given our lack of defensive pace, Lester is not who I'd be bringing in to fix it. Rate what he does but speed ain't it.

Nah.

Eyes only for the ball

He would be unlucky if so. It is completely distinguishable with Greene's action. Look up the Greene videos and tell me they are the same.

Greene's aren't the benchmark though.

Using your legs to kick out or preventing someone from contesting the mark with your legs is what has changed.

I don't want Hipwood to get suspended for a second, but I also wouldn't be surprised to see Eric made an example of given the injuries to Myers such is the MRO's unpredictability, plus we are the sort of club that the MRO has shown it will suspend our players in comparison to the big Vic clubs where such incidents are overlooked.

We'll soon see anyways.
