I would have preferred Hutchings to have been dropped as well. The fact that Tunbridge is still getting a game baffles me.

If lecras goes in midfield we lack anyone who can play across that half forward line and deliver ball inside 50 especially if hill goes down back.

Tunbridge is in to be that inside 50 link. Or at least that's the plan i think.

Geez I reckon the GWS Giants coaching staff would be intimidated by Nelson out Butler in

They'll be up hours and hours tonight planning on how to combat Tunners and butler

We've really showed them who is boss

Fffs ...our match committee has lost the plot :(

What moves would we have made that they'd really have to spend hours planning to combat? Jetta is the only guy at East Perth who can be damaging. As if they're going to say "oh crap, the Eagles are playing Corey Adamson and Luke Partington, this is a game changer!!!"

Looks like too many defenders in the side again, we need more players who can run through the midfield, especially against GWS
Such as Nelson instead of Butler?

I like Butts (and I cannot lie), but would've thought Nelson is more versatile.

I know we don't have the depth of information that the MC has, but this is a strange call.

He has had a few more chances than normal because those in direct competition haven't been setting the world on fire either. Jetta is one of a few who haven't been performing. Redden, Duggan, Karpany, Tunbridge, Hutchings, and now Sheed have all had similar outputs (Hutchings probably the best of them). It is not an absurd proposition to bring him into the side in place one of those guys at all if it happens. Regardless, de-listing him at the end of the year would be a poor move I think. Given his ceiling, the club has to be more patient than that.

Redden was rightly dropped but got back in courtesy of strong WAFL form only to disappoint. Duggan has struggled. Karpany got just 1 game. Tunbridge must have something on the coach, no WAFL form, no AFL form, but he's being treated as a first 22 regular. Work that one out. Hutchings has had his moments, will never be a champion but is reliable. And Sheed is underdone after a long time off. But suggesting Jetta's just as ordinary and therefore should get a go doesn't make much sense to me. The club has been too patient in being forced to drop him yet then bring him back based on no form.

Were people expecting big changes after a 50 point win?

I thought Tunners would probably be dropped but they must be keeping him in for structure.

Only if our forward structure requires a low possession, fumbly, ineffectual half forward as part of that structure.

I don't rate him but it's the only thing I can think of that is keeping him in. They must want another biggish body up there. We are a bit slim on them atm so he gets it by default

I can see the logic behind giving Tunbridge one more final shot but I'm still expecting a 4 possession game...

With us trying to get a top four spot I'd love to know what the logic is in retaining a player who's been completely underwhelming.

If we're going this route I would rather have Lamb getting these games to be honest.
If the rumour is true of Lamb asking to be traded back home then I don't think he is going to get a game. In the last few weeks he has probably played well enough to be selected and hasn't made emergency either

Would have thought getting him a game or two to showcase him would get us a better trade deal though

GWS v WC

A Kennedy, Shiel, M Kennedy for Reid, Wilson, Himmelberg.

Butler for Nelson.

I didnt know he was an eagles supporter

I understand Butler coming in as he brings calmness to the backline.

I'm really disappointed about dropping Nelson as he brings hardness and enthusiasm to every contest.

Hutchings, Tunbridge are predictable and may play a role but I'm not exactly sure they are our AFL future. I'd rather play Nelson in Hutching role.

Sheed is well underdone but Simpson wants him to get conditioned for the finals.

Masten got a lot of the ball last week but did he actually hurt the opposition?

I'm just frustrated we can't get the mix right!

Starting to wonder if Nelson still doesn't have the tank to play midfield yet. Lower minutes last week, and has taken some regular breaks throughout the season. I recall that his draft combine testing was pretty poor, and surely two preseasons won't be enough to get where he needs to be.

He's a developing player: maybe he's not getting dropped, maybe we're managing him a bit to get him through the year?

Good developing player and a good draft pick , maybe the bigger body of Tunbridge is seen as a plus for the team at the moment .

Maybe play eMac ...and play McGovern forward

Play Jetta

16 touches on limited time through the midfield as opposed to 14 from Yeo, 13 from Hutchings, 12 from Sheed and 10 from Tunbridge, all who have been given plenty of opportunities but rarely delivering.
Nelson came in for butler ( injured ) as a defender
goes out for butler .
If your arguing for Nelson playing midfield over hutch then I agree .
