Out : Vickery, Farmer, Nason, Thompson
In: Polo, Polak, Graham, Tuck
Mate you clearly have no idea. Farmer, Nason and Thomson were all good given expectations of players with little experience. Vickery was average but he's played about 10 games is a 2nd year ruckman, will be good. Most of the players you suggested to come in are ordinary and not the future.

OUT: Edwards (too many mistakes when he gets the footy), Simmonds (not the future, waste to play him and he was bad, one of McGuane/Thursfield or Moore.

IN: Collins (good young kid, play him. Will make it), Graham/Browne to replace Simmonds, Post/Astbury to come in and give us another tall target up forward.

Overall I wasn't too dissapointed with tonight's effort. Thomson and Hislop were actually not too bad IMHO and I'm not a fan normally. Nason, Martin, Roberts all solid debuts and showed signs. Farmer very, very good I thought. Beautiful long kicking, sticks to his man, makes the right decisions with the ball. Finally found the BP we're looking for IMO. A couple of disappointing efforts from senior players like Newman, Tambling but I won't go into that. We don't want to make sweeping changes and destroy their confidence.

Out:
Simmonds: Just bloody useless. We're not going to win many games this year, so play Browne and Vickery. Graham isn't up to it.

Conners: I don't care if you can get 25 possesions in the easiest position on the park, unless you run both ways you shouldn't get a gig. Had some awful kicks, and his marking (or that lackof) was the worst out of anyone)

Thompson: Simply not up to it. For an "extractor" he doesn't extract too many balls. Is too slow to play any other position.

Farmer: A bit harsh, but it comes down to him or Edwards. And at least when Edwards was on Betts you would see him in the contest. Betts lost Farmer and Conners way too many times.

In:
Browne: He is out best prospect besides Vickery.

Tuck: At least he can get the bloody pill.

Polak: Just to add some structure up foward. Unfair to expect Riewoldt to get double teamed at every contest.

Post: No doubt we were too short at both ends of the park tonight. Posty adds a bit of height at both ends.

Out :: Jackson, Simmonds , Nahas bench Lids , Newman and Bling
In :: Tuck , Graham, and Polak/Taylor

Jackson simmonds newman lids and bling poor application!! Newman lids and bling probably have some credit in the bank
We can only play 2 small forwards and nahas has been the worst of nahas nason and Roberts so far in 2010 , given the opposition next week I wouldn't be surprised moore for polo either !

You may well be the stupidest person to ever operate a keyboard PtF.

Jackson was the only thing we had resembling an AFL midfielder tonight and he wouldn't have made more than 3-4 errors (two of them from a clear lack of support from behind while being tackled) for the game among 25 or so possessions - the rest of them either solid or very good.

Deledio, Cousins, Cotchin, Newman - all your 'great ball users' - had less of the ball, turned it over more and had much less influence on the game.

Did you miss the wonderful irony of Deledio getting the ball 65m out with nobody on him, then mysteriously handballing to Jackson about 8m away right in front of him, marked with his back to goal, then Jackson managed to drill a 55m flat hard ball to Reiwoldt who goaled? Brett 'Magic Disposal' Deledio passes the buck and dishes off to Daniel 'No Skill' Jackson, who makes good and gets the Tigers back into the game.

All night when we were competitive it was Jackson doing the heavy lifting and running himself ragged. He could barely lift his legs by the time he had a shot on goal late in the 2nd quarter because he covered way more miles than anyone else despite coming off an interrupted pre-season.

As for Simmonds, well yeah, he was horribly average, but he was also our best ruckman on the night by a long way, so why not whinge about Vickery being selected?

Out:
Edwards - Awful, awful game.
Connors - Dumb.
Simmonds - Wow.
Mcguane - I'm a fan but too many errors.

In:
Webberly - Need some sort of dash from the backline. Will be able to get his hands on the footy at least.
Graham - Doesn't provide much around the ground but will compete. Should of played tonight.
Post - Why didn't he play?
Tuck - We were hopeless in the clearances.

Hey RW, aren't you the same person who claimed every goal we scored in the nab cup match versus hawthorn featured Shane tuck and that he was a certainity to play round 1 , you have NFI, and have proven such time after time, any reason we play better with Jackson outside the centre square ?

Out

Simmonds - was stunned that he was retained and tonight was 2009 form

Roberts - I think he'll be gold for us but he's not fit enough yet

In

Graham - the most physically developed of our young rucks

Post/Polak - we need another big target up forward

Hmf typical knee jerk reaction from people who way over rate our list.

Gee a few of you are going to have a long and sad year.

Really though............................what were you expecting?
LOL.
You must be expecting sense on here...
I can't belive the daggers are already out after a totally predictable outcome.

I have no idea how Jackson can be crucified after tonight. Was one of very few who had a crack.

I just can't wait to see the likes of Connors, Edwards, Simmonds, Moore/Mcguane and even Newman replaced by Astbury, Griffiths, Webberly, Dea and Post.

We need to invest time into guys who will improve us as a side.

Nothing has changed we are timid, soft tacklers, slow, 2nd to the ball and 2nd guess ourselves when we have it. Incredibly at half time had more scoring shots than the Blues. As we know it's going to be a long season but I genuinely thought before the game that we were a sneaky chance tonight.
I thought you guys were too. Tipped Blues by 24 but hoped like hell you won. :(

How did 22 tiger players get a gig tonight?????????????????????????
LOL.

Well, being belted wasn't a predictable outcome. I thought 4 straight goals would be it. Nothing more. It is only the fist game yes. So, sheath those daggers but sharpen them for round 6.:thumbsu:
New coach, new dawn.
Unfortunately, no new players.

I cant stop laughing at all the idiots saying get rid of thompson, farmer and vickery and bringing in tuck seriously the problem with not winning enough clearences came down us having a dead shit ruckman in simmonds. And as for the likes of farmer and thompson they were in the mix to being our best players.
And for vickery his in his second year and was playing against some big blokes so give him a break he also laid a couple of nice tackles that resulted in goals.

And connors to name another person who shouldnt be droped.

No-one. Not going to judge on one match. Give them 3-4 games then drop those not up to it. Which could be a lot, including our Captain, on tonights performance.

But first in the cannon on tonights performance.

1. Edwards: was woeful
2. Thomson: just didn't do enough
3. Nahas: tried hard but just to small and easily muscled out of the contest.

Edwards for anyone, the 12y.o kid across the road would do a better job than him. **** him off. Sick of copping goals from his shit.

EDIT: Also have to say that Farmer was out of his league tonight.

Bugger me, look at all the chicken littles running around hysterically because we didn't come out round 1 and belt the Blues. Seriously WTF did you guys expect tonight. While I hoped we would steal a win there was no way I was walking in with more than 25% confidence that it would happen.

As for the changes, unless someone has an injury that stops them from playing I would give the same 22 another week against the Dogs and see who redeems themselves and who doesn't. Thats when you'll start to learn about who wants to be part of the journey and who wants to take the easy way out.

Rome wasn't built in a day kiddies, today was the first day the builders were onsite and all they did was stand around and discuss what they wanted for morning smoko most of the time. Its going to be a long cold winter and if you blokes are this wound up after round 1 you'll be in the asylum by round 11 and legally insane by seasons end.
