Out Jones and Croft
In Sanders and VDM

Baker and Bont to play more forward to allow Sanders to play on the wing with Williams and Jacques.

Jeez it's nice to be wondering which highly talented player (Hynes, Davidson) will be dropped for other talented players (Sanders, Dolan). So much more encouraging than the Gallagher, VDM, McComb, McNeil roundabout if recent years.

I wouldn't get too excited about it, if that's your thoughts. There's a very good chance that those guys will be the ones coming in this week

Bramble forward to play the HF/Arty role? Arty was struggling to go with Zorko and Bramble seemed to go there later in the agme, and play the role well.

Sanders for Arty is an easy swap, and Croft gets a few days to see how he recovers.

Interesting what plays out above the shoulders with the Giants. Does GWS being our bunnies put negative thoughts in their heads of we cannot beat these guys or are they more motivated to draw a line in the sand and 100% focused on not letting happen again.

Gallagher for Arty his pre season practice match form for the possibles was great but played poorly against Hawthorn.
Saunders for Hynes who needs to work on his pace.

Does anyone know how any of the prospective replacements went in the VFL practice games we had
Any reports would be welcome
Based on what I’ve seen on Facebook - Dolan apparently went alright but a little rusty. Emmett arguably the best of the lot so an early debut isn’t out of the question if a KPD were to get injured. Gags did alright too but predominantly wing/mid rather than as a forward

Hopefully their coach gives them a condescending spray about being our bunnies.

Won't pretend I know anything about the form of those that missed as I paid zero attention to pre-season. Will defer to the great BF minds on suggested ins. However for me Hynes looked a bit off the pace of the game - if someone must miss to make room, I'd be looking there. Not sure whether he's suited to his current role, but otoh a few more games to settle wouldn't hurt.

The knock on Hynes pre draft was his lack of pace. From what I seen he certainly is not quick but he does not look too slow. He looks to have toughness but is struggling a bit with the speed of the game and needs more involvement,

Maybe a onball stint for a few games in the reserves and bring him back when he is knocking the door down.

We have a fantastic drafting team, giving the team an abundance of highly talented young players coming through the system.

Not sure of arty replacement, but I would like a tall like Emmett as 2nd ruck to support English.
How LSmith tracking?
Is he a more experienced option who has been in our system to back up Timmy?
Let Emmett gets some reps and bulk up before throwing him against the mature bodies.

Bramble is way too important coming off half back to play forward. Him and Baker are the crucial engine to our ball movement. Rewatch Saturday’s game and you’ll see we don’t even get close to winning it without Bramble back there.

Was he even there late in the game though? It looked like he moved up the field in the second half, and it was Budarick who did a lot of rebounding.

Dale was clearly hampered too but he's going to build into form as his knee gets better.

I did see some after the game vision in the rooms and Croft was wandering around with Zimmerman which doesn't look promising. We may have two forced changes.

Gags was BOG in the VFL the well before, and Luke Kennedy was a travelling emergency so apart from Sanders those are the two I expect are in the frame for selection.

Not sure if he was half back or wing, but it’s so nice to have all of these options

Heat map has him 59% in the defensive half and 41% in the forward half, so Bramble certainly seems to be showing a bit of versatility.
I was surprised we went in with 8 defenders in round 0 rather than 7 (as normal), but it seemed to work ok.

I'm hesitant to move too much around this week as I really think we looked good in Round 0. Naughton and Darcy didn't crash into each other once. Croft & Davo stayed out of their way. D50 ground balls, once an achilles heel of ours, we actually were good there too.

Some suggestion now that Sanders may not be ready this week. That makes things a little more difficult.

Should Crofty temper his mark of year attempts a little. Just think some of leaps are fraught with to much chance of injury.

Do not like to restrict his endeavour think it is fantastic but a small adjustment would probably be wise.
