Very excited for this game. Dogs have come to play this year. And players picked in position early in the season is a welcome change. Dogs by 14

Guess after he went mentioned on injury listIs this a fact? Or is it a guess?
I think we’re getting Vandermeer for Jones and another tall for Croft, either Lewis or Emmett.
If we replace Jones with Sanders we look awfully one-paced up forward.

He’s never had a specific return date listed. In the injury list Weightman's is assessed as TBC. I thought he was on the mend. What's happened?
Serious question, is Gallagher like for like to Arty et al? He seems much slower than the others. I'd even have Hynes ahead of him in terms of like-for-like with Arty. With Croft not on the injury list, but Vandermeer with concussion apparently, revising my expected change to:
Sanders for Jones
I think we’ll do this, shift Bramble to half forward and wing and do a bit of a shuffle to slot Sanders in through a flank, wing and midfield.
I think it leaves us a bit exposed, as I’m not sure West, Hynes and Sanders at half forward gives us the run to pressure Whitfield, Ash and Fonti all day.
I think Hynes is the one at risk at the expense of Sanders, if we want to do a like for like with Jones (e.g. Gallagher, McNeil). I liked Hynes’ hands against the Lions, and he didn’t do anything wrong (very solid 14 PAs) but he’s a similar type player that isn’t on the same level as Sanders currently. I suspect the coaches would rather the 6 CBAs Hynes had against the Lions go to Sanders.
Gags is the best "power athlete" we've had since Stringer. The guy is gifted, but his field kicking hasn't stood up at the next level (weirdly his goal kicking has).Serious question, is Gallagher like for like to Arty et al? To be honest, I loved the way Bramble played the role late in the opening round game.Serious question, is Gallagher like for like to Arty et al? He seems much slower than the others. I'd even have Hynes ahead of him in terms of like-for-like with Arty.

He's ahead of any option we have there right now, especially given he can push up to the wing and he's a "forward" player rather than someone who wants to handball sideways. Between he and Baker, you wear the odd error from trying to do so much as their good hugely outweighs the mistakes.
They both move the ball forward quickly which is the way you play when you have an 8 foot 7 freakshow named Darcy in the F50.

Baker had had some real hurdles to deal with to get to his 50.A few milestone games coming up this week:
Richards 150
O'Donnell 50
Baker 50 (15 of them with Melbourne)
With an injury free run he could be playing his 50th for the Bulldogs later in the season.Baker had had some real hurdles to deal with to get to his 50.
I'm really happy for the guy that he's playing senior AFL football.
Just in terms of speed around the ball. Hynes seems to have a bit more zip but could be my eyes playing tricks. I did not realise he's 190cm either I would have thought he was more 180cm, so you're right. It's why the eye test is unreliable on its own.I don’t think Hynes plays anything like Jones? One plays as a brute medium forward and mid and the other is a quick, outside crumber. Gallagher when playing forward is a much closer fit to Jones. There’s plenty of highlights going around.
In terms of being slower, Gallagher was actually a stand out in 2022 draft testing. He’s very athletic.
Yeah... I see the power athlete thing, which is the last thing I'd describe Arty as lolGags is the best "power athlete" we've had since Stringer. The guy is gifted, but his field kicking hasn't stood up at the next level (weirdly his goal kicking has).
I hope it's a composure issue which it can be for young players.

Gags always looked more like a diesel, rather than a race car to me but I'm probably wrong on all counts if he's tested high for speed and agility.
First time that Toby Greene will play us at Marvel since the Dahlhaus kick I think? Crazy its taken so long for a return bout
Gags is super fast and athletic. It's just his decision making and execution that needs tidying up a fraction. So much potential if he can. Seemed to get stuck in a confidence loop imo
