In theory we have Dixon, Fantasia, Jonas, Dumont & Bergman all selectable.

IF they are all fit and ready to go there will be some serious headaches for the coaching staff at selection. We just don't know enough externally about Dixon's ankle, the training load Fantasia has done, how Jonas and Dumont are is dealing with their infections, and how much touch Bergman has had.

If they were all cherry ripe then I'm going

IN: Dixon, Jonas, Bergman, Fantasia
OUT: Finlayson, Jones, Frederick, Duursma (sub)

Can't see that happening though.

Tough on Finlayson. He’s just starting to come into his own.

Jonas for Frederick.
Bergman (if available/fit) for Jones.

Would love to see Fantasia for Motlop but the latter has the most golden of gold passes.

Don't get the clamouring for Dumont's inclusion at all.

I'm happy for Dixon to stay in the SANFL to build form and fitness. Georgiades played arguably his best game for the year, Finlayson is fitting in well and Marshall needs no explanation.

Interesting also how we appear to have adjusted to his absence anyway, making open leading space 30-50m in front of goal instead of bombing it on top of a pack all the time. Who would have thought that tactic might be effective? (yes it was only Norf but still)

Dixon, Raz, Berg all play SANFL

However, I can see the desire to play Fantasia in the main 22, if he’s already OK to go as a sub. Will need to have a frenetic game style to beat Geelong at GMHBA

Go back and watch his games is very clean around the contest doesn’t waste it and has almost as much running power as X he’s done nothing wrong to this point

Need a mobile fast moving forward line. Geelong defence zone so well and if we got back to the slow bomb inside 50 they’ll set a Guinness book of records for rebounds. Dixon, Fantasia and Bergman need a run in the SANFL. Not sure what’s going on with Dursama but just looks lost at the moment. Definitely bring Dumont back in and play Fredericks as the sub.

I'm not bringing Dixon or fanta pants in for this game need to play sanfl.
Agree Dursma should of had a few weeks off after the Brisbane game he was crying on the bench ffs clearly hurt.
Jonas and Dumont for Fredrick and X man to have a rest until he is fully fit.

Dumont if available comes in.
He is a coaches dream does exactly as he should be doing is consistent and trustworthy.
He is best 22.

I'm not dropping Finlayson at all under any circumstances. The idea we are trading in a quality functional forward set up that encourages a methodical approach with multiple options by our midfield for kick it to Charlie is bizzare.

Our forward set up is the right set up and will get better and better over time just don't worry about it anymore let it set.

Charlie helping out in the ruck and playing further down the ground is probably ok. If Charlie goes forward against Geelong and we start bombing it in long there will be a television exiting a window in Adelaide very early in the game.

Out Frederick, Duursma
In: Jonas, Fantasia

From what Dixon has been saying he is still sore so doubt he will be ready to play AFL next week. When he is ready he plays.

Dumont unlucky but no one obvious to go out of the side. Jones was horrific but seems to improve after an initial comeback game so probably worth persisting with, especially against Geelong in what will be a tight and tough contest.

I think it's an easy decision this week. Dixon, fantasia and Bergman to all play SANFL.

IN - Jonas, Dumont
OUT Duursma, Frederick

Duursma to get a good 3 week block in the SANFL playing midfield/fwd. think he needs to get away from the wing for a while.

When Dixon, Fanta and Berg come in, i think Finlayson, Motlop and either Farrell/Dumont/Jones will be making way.

We've played 17th, 18th, the midget squad and in a slopfest. It's too early to say our forward line is going to stand up against a quality tall defence, but we will get a solid taste this week.

If we can learn to use Charlie to compliment the changes we're seeing then he's certainly going to improve us.

How about the guy you've named to come in who hasn't played a game of Australian Rules football at any level for 8 months?

I think the negative comments on Mots are a bit misplaced this year. He is working extremely hard and some of his link up play contributes to shots on goal. Do people not see this ?

Tbh - Motlop was really good against North and not bad this year on the whole - however as other posters have mentioned - we need to see this sort of performace repeated against quality sides and on a consistent basis - I can see Motlop's strengths - he runs hard and links up with transitions - but tbh, like others, I always suspect he will go missing under pressure and against good opposition

I cringe when I see posts calling for Motlop to be dropped.

His current role is similar to Boak's old role. Mots has been learning this over time and has the defensive side pretty much nailed and is now working hard to incorporate attack to the role. He is working his ass off every game and it's there for all to see. It's very clear his team mates appreciate his work rate too.

To see posts calling for him to be dropped this week is crazy. 18 disposals, 2 goals and 2 goal assists.

I'd suggest (most) people calling for Mots to come out of the side are doing so on the basis of wanting to bring in a younger option rather than on the basis of not thinking he's in our best 22 players.

For a team that doesn't look like winning a flag this year, unless you're a club legend like a Boak/Gray, the older a player gets the better they've got to be to hold a spot IMO. Given the choice between Motlop and, say, Farrell, even if Motlop is 5% better I'd probably rather play Farrell at this point.
