Seeing the injury list made me appreciate the depth issues really are an injury thing. Sure, its only a couple of best 22 guys but its also like a lot of the 25-35 guys

2 small to medium forwards, 4 mids, one small defender
Two of them are 34+, and won't be here next year, and we probably should have relied on them this year.
Young, Fyfe, NOD and O'Meara has caused most of the issues I think, and I think it shows we are 1 or 2 good mids light in the squad.

I think other clubs would have the depth to cope with it, or at least have a half back or older mid they can play to limit the damage.

What hurts us is we have Aish, Brodie who aren't close to playing, and taking up valuable spots on our list.
Erasmus who they only play if they have to, and not as a mid.
Banfield who is way out of form, and should not be considered.

We just need to delist Aish, Brodie and maybe Erasmus if the club won't play them and find someone to take their spot.
I personally would love to give Erasmus the next 3 games in the middle at least, and see how he goes.

and this only covers the midfield issue. We have no small forward depth at all. 2 injuries, and we are relying on a mature age recruit and a first year draftee who played most of his life as a mid.

I can't believe I am going to take public transport three hours return from the centre of Australian's most iconic city, to watch a bunch of purple sea dogs phone it in against the league's failed corporate orange trojan horse.
Putting it that way, sounds like a rippa afternoon ;)

That failed corporate orange thing has been good at list management though.
Way better than the failed purple thing.
Been given a little bit more from AFL house though, it must be said

They'd used more first round picks in about five years than Freo had their entire existence to that same point.

You'd better hope they find some talent.

Prediction New
Nah, we'll win the next two weeks.

Then lose to GC (no-one wins at Metricon now).

Then lose off the bye (but we never play well off the bye).

Then go on a tear and win a few in a row to be on the cusp.

Then lose a few close ones to top 8 sides (see, we're close).

Ready to the same dance next year?

I think this is the last roll of the dice for the season. Lose this and we’re two games out of the eight and I can’t see us catching up with our form this year and the teams that would be ahead of us.

Don't you put that evil on me!

Engie stadium has its charms, it’s not as bad as is being made out here. Is it the G or Optus? No, but it’s not that bad, I don’t mind the odd game at a smaller venue. Far far better than Accor around the corner, that place is the dump of all dumps.

I also much prefer Engie to Marvel, which feels soulless to me.

Lets face it, if all they’re offering is the Time Warp every year, then we can’t really start doing the Twist.

I'm going to say something and please know I am purely asking the question and feel sick even asking it. If Jackson truly wants out, why play him? Get back to the one ruck structure with Treacy, Amiss, Voss as the keys. Or is that ridiculous? Again, not advocating for it and feel shocking to even suggest it.

Feeling very "stuff him" today, make him sit in the twos

That would be very cut off your nose to spite your face sort of move.

1) it assumes he is a lost cause when he is contracted for another 4 years
2) even if we had decided we would trade him, that would just destroy his trade value
3) it says we've completely thrown the towel in on this season, and while I know we're losing our collective minds there's plenty of opportunity to still turn it around

I'm confident we'll be competitive this week. Giants are in better form so they'll probably beat us by 4-5 goals but I think we'll be in touch at half time.
