Love Oscars efforts but has been bad for a few games now
Baker's great when he runs both ways.
Right now he's running one way only.

Davo does the hard stuff but right now he's fluffing pretty much every bit of play he gets involved in.

If we could combine the two we'd end up with a very good player.

Not sure if Treloar is really fit, but I think we're a desperate for some talent around the coal face. Kinda bad that we'll probably have an injured Treloar, injured Bont and injured Richards together in the midfield at the same time though?
Need the lesser lights to stand up big time
If it makes you feel better, we'll also have a severely hampered Kennedy running through there.

Right now Sanders has to carry one hell of a load.

I've said it before I'm on both sites and I do have a talk to the regular track watchers.
I try to time mentioning the specific names here until 20 minutes before they get announced.
More than happy to step back if it's creating doubt and angst.
Beats me why people want to try to dox (or at least speculate about) anyone providing good info. Its most probable effect would be to drive them away.

I’d rather you kept posting as you do now DW. And people just shut up and be grateful.

Your posts are much appreciated.

Maybe we need to start playing home games in Corio.

2025 Brisbane Geelong. In the past 25 years sides that have Marvel as their home ground have played in a GF 3 times. Also note in the above sides that have a home ground exclusive to them have played in the GF 60 per cent of the last 25 years.

Also a Baker fan - he has been down but I would have picked him (probably). Problem is it has been a few weeks where I would say the same.

He has one wood but it is a great one - gut running - this is really valuable especially the pressure rating he can bring. He hasn’t brought that and with his skill level he can’t afford to be inconsistent.

Hynes is still a kid playing as a large bodies mid of HFF but hasn’t grown into his body yet. I reckon the coaches have seen the potential and the early progression - I would support that within 10 more games he could be solid. And a preseason and 5kgs and we solve not only half forward but also an additional you mid. He absolutely has a high ceiling talent wise and something we should develop not break.

What has also hurt Oscar is positioning - Naughton is being swamped and we need taller forward who can block for him and keep defenders off him - watch him closely he is doing that really well. Croft is still a kid and so a third tall/HFF is really important and Hynes is the only choice. But on the wing we can add Jacques (and have Davidson already) and for Williams in defence we can add Cleary.

For Baker v Trelor - Bakes can run - Trelor can’t run atm but - like Dangerfield if Trelor plays for 40mins he will get 20 possessions and help to win a match. With 5 subs we can manage.

I think Kennedy is injured as well.

This is what you said:

"He seriously needs to lift and put in a decent performance soon to justify his position, lest his career be over before it has really begun."

You were clearly blaming the player to a large extent. It's an incorrect and poor take. I'm sick of Emmett, Hynes, Croft being accused of not giving enough. Of needing to lift. They are giving what they are able to my eye. It's not their fault they are not yet ready.

But let’s declare their careers will soon be over. That's insightful and helpful...

I’m happy to double down, because what I said is true.

AFL careers can be short for players who don’t demonstrate that they are up to the standard relatively quickly.
Cooper was a first-round national draft pick, who has been in the system for almost two years now, who has been really struggling at AFL level. Why is it unreasonable to expect that he be able to play competently at AFL level at this point?

Not expecting him to dominate, just expecting him to be able to pull his weight, which he hasn't been doing.

Not only is he providing little contribution to justify his selection in the team, but he is also providing little evidence to suggest that he is clearly on a path to being able to do so in the future. On current form, I seriously don't think he would have been selected in either, of the two bottom of the ladder teams that played last night had he been on either Essendon's or Richmond's lists.

Yes, his continued selection is the fault of the match committee, who are obviously trying to show they have faith in him, but Cooper Hynes is ultimately responsible for his own performance and justifying that faith.

Out on the ground he doesn't display elite levels of desperation, nor does he look like he has really worked his butt off in the Gym or on the track to try to build elite level capabilities to advance his game.

I would suggest his current position is somewhat similar to where Harvey Gallagher was a couple of years ago, getting a bunch of senior opportunities, but not quite grabbing them.

Is he ready? Will he ever be ready? Who knows.
You don't always get to choose when your opportunities arrive. Others have decreed that his opportunities are now, so he needs to step up lest they pass him by.

Let's hope Cooper realizes his situation soon and rises to meet the challenge. Despite my criticism of where he is currently at, I will be sincerely hoping he puts in a blinder tomorrow and makes my comments look silly.

No need to wait. Your comments already look silly.

I'd be happy to replace him with any of our listed players such has been his recent form.

And I'd jump at the chance to replace him with one of Davidson, Baker, Dolan or Smith.
With the above list your very pleased. Mark this sentence in my view in 3 years tine not one of the above players listed will be playing for the Bulldogs. Cooper Hynes will be

Disagree strongly on Dolan. He will be a strong contributor for us for a long time

We are talking about selecting a team for tomorrow not three years time.
And the jury is seriously out on whether Hynes will be still be here then.

He has a contract for next year but needs to lift his game substantially to make sure he gets offered another one.

Since when is Kennedy even hampered. I love it how we’ve just collectively made up an injury for a player whose not playing well

Watch him, and check the TOG numbers

No they don’t, I believe what he has posted has clearly articulated the issue with Cooper. He has absolutely no elite traits that are visible yet. Every player has a strength that stands out.
Tell me what Coopers is please. He might develop into a reasonable soldier. But he’s never on current showing going to be anything exceptional

Are there any big footy fans on the Warrnambool train

No but how is the seat situation? I'm an ex-SW vic resident and it's a hot topic on the socials

Nobody except you spoke about elite traits. Go back and read the posts.
