Hampton was ok.
Cheney didn't get much of it but was clean overhead and took a few good contested marks.
ROB was ok.
Sig found a lot of the ball and was ok.

Mackay in the Melbourne goal square reminded me of an U/12 game

Hey, my son plays U/11 footy and I take exception to his skills being compared to Mackays!!!

Mackay at the presser , he isnt getting dropped

The Crows take on Greater Western Sydney at Adelaide Oval on Sunday.

"History will say that we respond pretty well to poor losses," Mackay said.

"I've got a lot of confidence in this group, and the coaching staff do, that when we're set a task and when we need to respond, we do."
I refuse to watch it... the quotes you have provided are enough!..

He did. I’m not buying a single word out of the club at the moment. Pack of liars.
Mate, you should maybe go find a different hobby. Your bitterness in this thread is a bit worrying.

It’s a bit hard not to think that seeds wasn’t going to play.. he finished the last 10 mins of the dogs game in a tracksuit on the bench didn’t he?..
So they took him all the way over to Alice Springs and made him do the warm up before doing the masterstroke of replacing him with someone who doesn't play the same role?

You be tripping.

You know, if the boys bounce back this week and beat GWS, we then have games against freo and hawthorn to come and neither team are setting the world on fire. We win these games and we will be heading to the break with a 9-4 win/loss record with Walker and Sloane firmly in the frame to return as would Knight and hopefully McGovern not too far away. We also could have guys like Milera & M Crouch back into reasonable match fitness by then (assuming NO MORE INJURIES) so we would have every chance of making a good run for the finals. Yeah the weekend loss was a real bad one, but if we can move on from that and bring the required effort over the next 3 weeks, our season could still be set up quite nicely

You’re probably right but after seeing guys go to the bench this year with suspected hamstring injuries and not even get ice applied to them you have to ****in wonder!...

Maybe they took him all the way up their hoping he would come good and letting him have till the very last minute in the warm up to see if it would before pulling the pin...

Didn’t someone even say that Bruce Mac said in the commentary that he thought seeds looked sore and restricted even as he ran out for the warm up session??.. this would support the theory he’s been injured since putting the tracksuit on 10mins before the end of the dogs game..

Why do people keep bringing up Poholke over Murphy?

Poholke was the travelling emergency. He wasn't supposed to play. In the event the emergency wasn't required, it was better Murphy could get a run in the SANFL. It's just unfortunate we had to use the emergency
Not me... as I wanted Murphy over Gibson. ;)

Problem with the Hawks is they'll absolutely set up to restrict our ball movement and we will absolutely refuse to do something that's proven to work like put a forward tag on Sicily.

I said this after the horrible Melbourne loss last year:

"Jacobs - Second most hitouts in AFL history, but did **** all with those taps. No silver service whatsoever despite having a tap dominance. Learn to tap to our advantage."

Funnily enough I also said this of Lynch: "Downhill skiier. Unbelievably terrible from a senior player and such a key pillar."

Our best players on that day last year were Laird, M. Crouch, Smith, Douglas, Milera and Talia. That sounds awfully, awfully familiar.
"Mackay - Epitomizes our lack of success over the last 20 years. Absolute liability; an awful plodder with poor skills and inability to tackle.
Jenkins - If you're injured, don't play. If you aren't injured, play with ******* heart and ability you lazy tall hack
Atkins - Front runner. Soft, fumbly under pressure. Not a great two way runner at all.
Douglas - Played some hard footy but didn't use it well at all.
Laird - Used it well, made good decisions, tried his heart out despite an inside 50 onslaught."

Cripes, talk about rinse and repeat!

You speak far too much sense for most around here to handle

Jenkins was no way near the problem. Problems started in the midfield. Actually thought he tried hard and has been much better this year.

From the GBU Thread against Melbourne:

"They were tough at ground level. Stoppages and crumbing off marking contests they killed us. Hard over the ball, wanted it, good hands, organised.
We were brushed aside, panicky, soft."

"We'd often tackle a player or cause a spillage, only for our midfielders to ball watch as a Melbourne player picks it up and runs away. "

"Their midfield destroyed ours. Didn't give our forwards a chance. Centre clearances the most damning thing IMO. Seemed everytime they would waltz straight out of the centre."

"Do our guys actually care? It's like there's no passion."

"Our game plan requires us to apply pressure around the contest and win the contested ball then fast ball movement. Tonight it seemed like we forgot the first part and just wanted to move the ball on. How many times did we handball to a player under pressure or kick the ball to Melbournes advantage?"

"Honestly one of the worst performances I have seen from us. Lynch only plays well when we do"

"When it comes down to getting the hands dirty, we don't want to know about it. Nearly every time teams pressure us (similar to what you'll find in finals) we go to water and step away."

"Just like opponents can't/couldn't handle our intense running waves at times over the last few years, our kryptonite is high pressure in the corridor, for a whole game. There are some serious issues at the moment that won't be tweaked in a week."

"The tackling of ours was pathetic! They literally ran through us!"

"petracca laughed at our attempts to tackle him all night."

That's the GBU v Melbourne Round 8 last year...

Groundhog Day. Seriously. Could copy paste for the North game, the grand final and the first half of the Collingwood game last year. And Collingwood this year

Sure, if everyone comes back healthy and firing and we win every game, everything will be fine.

Problem is after the bye we have:
Eagles (1st), Richmond (2nd), Cats (6th), Brisbane, Melbourne (3rd), Port (9th), GWS (11th), North (5th), Carlton.

Our easy section of the fixture is over.

Said in another thread if we get top 4 from here that will mean likely wining 10 of our last 12 to get to 16 wins, and that will be a fricken mighty effort.

It's more about having a near full strength team than who we play.

Top 4 is looking difficult.

As has been noted often, for the most part all our wins and losses look alike - which was why the Sydney win seemed so special. Hard fought, grind.

It's also why the GF surprised me - we got off to a good start and then wilted. On Sunday the first 60 seconds set the scene, which is usually the case when we get flogged.

People were saying all this stuff about the Melbourne game. They haven't beaten anyone decent bla bla. If we can just grind out the win bla bla.

Our expectations are falling incrementally from top 2 to top 4 to top 8.
