Mate, they don't give a rat's about the Crows, or Interstate clubs in general.
Their orgiastic delight every time Melbourne goaled was nauseating.
For away matches I mostly opt for the high-quality TV audio even if the commentary is (let's say) below par. But sometimes the Victorian bias is sickening, particularly when the Crows are losing, and I opt for AM commentary which is roughly synchronised. Sunday was one of those days. Since GWS are even less relevant in the Victorian mind, I expect the commentary this weekend will be fairly neutral

Here's what makes me suspicious of "concussion". He wouldn't have been just "sitting on the bench", he would have been going through concussion testing, which involves doctors and computer screens.
Daisy was too busy fapping over the dees to bother looking at the crows bench

To be fair we didnt give them much to talk about

I do love the expectations of this board sometimes.

We post:

"This is the worst football side ever!"
"I'm tearing up my membership!"
"We should delist everyone!"

Then we notice the commentators talking up the opposition...

"How dare they! Don't they know how great we are?"

I generally don't read much of the Game Day or GBU threads because of the melting that goes on in them. I wonder if some people only support the team so that they can abuse them.

Don Pyke press conference was just on Fox Sports News. Couple of things

1) He seemed a little rattled/under pressure for the first time. Speaking very quickly, rushed. He always does a bit, just seemed a bit more than usual. Still spoke fine but we've been flying for most of his coaching career. This is something a bit new.

2) We won't be dropping any players. Spoke about backing the group in, not overreacting to one game.

That's worked well for our culture.

Might work for the subsequent game but never stamps out the problem and unacceptable and non-competitive performances rear their ugly heads again and again.

Realistically, who is going to come into the team?

These are the stats from last weekend's SANFL game:

Matthew Signorello: 24 disposals, seven clearances, seven marks, four tackles
Curtly Hampton: 23 disposals, six tackles, six clearances, five inside 50ms, three marks
Patrick Wilson: 19 disposals, four marks, four rebound 50ms, three clearances
Lachlan Murphy: 17 disposals, seven inside 50ms, four marks, three tackles
Ben Jarman: 16 disposals, five tackles, five marks, four inside 50ms
Andy Otten: 16 disposals, five marks, three tackles, three inside 50ms
Jackson Edwards: 15 disposals, seven marks, six tackles, three inside 50ms
Ben Davis: 13 disposals, seven marks, three goals
Alex Keath: 13 disposals, eight marks, four rebound 50ms
Damon Hill*: 13 disposals, six marks, three rebound 50ms
Dom Costanzo*: 13 disposals, four inside 50ms, three clearances
Reilly O’Brien: 13 disposals, 40 hit-outs, six marks, two tackles
Kyle Cheney: 12 disposals, five marks, two rebound 50ms
Harry Dear: 11 disposals, seven hit-outs, three marks
James Loneragan*: 10 disposals, five marks, four tackles, three rebound 50ms
Corey Davey*: nine disposals, three tackles, three marks, three rebound 50ms
Matthew Leigh*: nine disposals, five inside 50ms, three marks
Michael McMahon*: eight disposals, five tackles, four marks
Elliott Himmelberg: five disposals, two tackles, one mark
Sam Venning*: five disposals, one clearance, one mark
Harry Slee*: four disposals, one clearance, one mark

I don't see much of anything there that screams, "PICK ME!"

I mean, there's only 2 players that got over 20 touches. One of them hasn't played an AFL game and the other one is just coming back from yet another injury. Thes rest of them have the sort of numbers that, if someone in the AFL team was putting up those numbers, they be considered to have an average game, at best.

In fairness Hampton kicked 3 goals as well which you missed. Get him in, last chance.

I thought there was an obligation for the club to report if they are doing a concussion test as there is a minimum 20 minutes time on the bench - is it the interchange steward they tell?

However the club only has its self to blame for the position they find themselves regarding their lack of credibility when it comes to reporting injuries - will take years to turn that around.

It was more reported when there was the sub due to Jarrod Lyons... i mean a sub being able to come on if a player was undergoing the test.

Hampton, Otten, Murphy, Seedsman, O'Brien, and Pyke also brought up Wilson.

So there's six. Five have senior experience already.
Seedsman for Poholke will obviously happen if he is fit. Outside of maybe Hampton, who has only just come back from injury, the rest haven't done anything in the SANFL to force their selection in the AFL team.

Not sure if this is the correct thread but an open training session tomorrow.....think its great. It would have to be the first open 'main' training session in a long time surely?!

Murphy was unlucky to be dropped after 1 game tbh, so doubt he needs to light up the SANFL before getting a game and provides as much as poholke & Gooch, doesn't get a lot of the ball but applies pressure and pops up with goals

As others have said, I suspect it would be a different story if we had players available.

It's not overreacting to 1 game either. I hope Don doesn't truly believe that. It's a regular trend with the crows under Don pyke that we go missing for large periods in matches and teams score heavily against us in those periods.

It's not a once off.

I was hoping we could get to the bye without much more damage being done and the coaching group going in eyes wide open knowing we still have major issues if teams can tear us apart like that on a regular basis.

But it seems don wants to stick his head in the sand, or is saying one thing publicly and doing another behind closed doors which wouldn't surprise me.

"I think you've got to be really careful in this game of jumping at shadows," Pyke said.

"I've got a lot of faith and belief in the playing group.

"Players that we've had this year have performed really well at times.

"We've had some poor performances, the Collingwood and Melbourne games stand out.

"We learn from that, we're going to continue to develop and we're going to get some opportunities for younger guys who are playing.

"That's unfortunately what we got last week, but a week's a long time in footy."

YUCK... cmon Don don't peddle that bullshit
