Dunno about this Tucker in defence stuff.

I think he's perfect for the wing. Good tank, good kick going into 50. Acres, yuck.
He has just come back from injury. Does he have the tank currently.
I agree though
our A grade midfield should be
C; cerra brayshaw tucker
ruck; darcy fyfe serong

Tabs injured- can someone remind me why we're about minus 2 KPF's on our list than literally every other team than the AFL? Lobb and Fyfe aren't pure forwards and the big Cohuna is 18. We will look pretty average until he's back.

Brayshaw in and probably Meek for structure.

TBH a big part of the reason is that we decided that all of them should be defenders. When fully fit we have 3 spare KPDs, 0 extra KPFs. So I guess ask Ross Lyon why he decided that Pearce, Cox, Logue etc should all play defence in a team that already had Hamling and Ryan.

???

Pearce was tried forward and was so clearly better as a defender that it isn't funny.

Cox was a forward for a while under Ross and only really went back when the Hamling/Pearce injury saga commenced.

Logue I actually agree on but it's not like we have much choice for the periods he has been fit (see the line above).

A few times last night it was handy that Tucker was a left footer to give us a bit of a different direction to go via when we're in that situation where we are flipping the ball around under pressure looking for that safe release kick up the ground.

Don't mind Tucker playing half back, he went on to Papley last night after Aish was getting a bit of a touch up.
Papley didn't do much after Tucker went on him.
He's got a good kick too, both short and long.
Like a lot
Yeah I think people missed that. Tucker is filling a gap in the backline really well.

Aish had a weird game. Defensively was pretty terrible. But also had some good moments. Overall probably one of his worst games but people will remember the kick i50 that led to a goal and forgive everything else. Is Duman any better? Watson had a bit of a shocker as well relative to his game last week.

Ryan and Cox awesome. Logue did well considering the umpires seemed to be reporting to Buddy at times. Tucker and Wilson were solid. Watson and Aish not great but no-one else available to bring in just yet.

Do you see Tucker as a hb long term?

Mistakes made by defenders behind centre are always remembered more, especially when they miss the open player in space by enough that it directly turns the ball over - because they usually watch the ball fly over their head to score against us.

When the forwards do the same thing and miss their kick, either inside fifty or at goal, we feel a sting but not usually a score against.

Thank god Port won by 1 point.
I reckon we can give this a good shake, but we got to play 4 quarters. Winning earlier this year helps at Adelaide oval.
Brayshaw in is good for midfield, and we need someone to take Tabs spot if he doesn't get up.
Meek maybe, but Lycett is out so Darcy could have a big bearing on the result.
Won't be easy, but I dare to dream

You will know we are a genuine finals side when players like Acres Aish and Wilson are down at Peel most weekends. They have no more upside left - they are what they are right now. We just need to wait for the u23 players to push them out
If Wilson and Aish are 23rd and 24th man we are ****ing flying.

Is Brayshaw a definite to play?

Yep. Rather than “genuine finals side” like Dockeroo said, it’s more like “genuine premiership side”. If it happens in the next 3 years that is. Can definitely see Wilson and Aish being outside the best 22 for the 2025 season, perhaps even the 2024 season.

I feel like there’s a certain group of posters on this board who like to hate any player traded to this club and like to put them down at any opportunity because of it. Add Lobb to that list - won’t cop criticism this week but some of the garbage the last few weeks about him was unbelievable. We traded B-Grade assets for these three because they’re B Grade players and people are surprised when they perform like B Graders and pretend that C Graders are better players - I don’t get it honestly.

Lobb, Wilson and Aish are the least of our problems.

Any chance Mundy might be given a rest? I know they have the bye in a couple of weeks but his defensive running and second efforts are dropping off and we need to look after those old legs.
I didn't really give us a hope of winning either of the next two games but if I was forced to choose I would give us more chance against bullies at home than port away

Wilson & Aish are good to very good AFL players. They both have game sense, carry the ball and kick with good vision and intent.

What did the Pies do? Did they kick it around their backline? Looks like it as Moore and Roughhead racked it up and so did Mayne. So we play keepings off, doubt we will though..
