Looking forward to seeing how Treacy goes with extended time on ground being the main threat with Tabs out - he’ll have a very tough matchup with Jonas who’s no slouch.
Very hard tbh. Worst time for Tabs to be injured. Allir and Jonas. Fyfe, Darcy will be needed forward at some point. Don’t care about Meek not marking. Compete in the ruck and he ll go alright

Incorrect:
Round 1: Darcy didn't play
Round 2: Worked well
Round 3: Was a disaster
Round 4: Meek played 50% game time.

Is was literally good once and has never worked with Darcy as the no.1 ruck.
Geez you're seemingly invested in trying to talk down Meek.
Round 4 it was a deliberate ploy to keep him fresh to go hard against a team that played two genuine rucks.
Round 3 was a disaster because the mids were timid, Meek actually flew the flag when no one else would stand up for Brayshaw.
Your guy Lobb is a better forward than Meek, there are you happy?

Lobb full time ruck this week, Meek easily in.
But JLo will be conservative and play Western, Brayshaw. Treacy as full time forward.. just hope he doesn’t throw him to the wolves. Any height is height.

If people were willing to keep Treacy in as a target when we needed a third tall, than the same people should be happy to have Meek in as a target. He'll draw a defender and make Lobb's life easier.

I don’t think I’ve said anything that puts down Meek as a back up ruck. I just don’t think he offers enough forward for him and Darcy to play together. I’ve only really rated his games when he was the number one ruck - unfortunately for him Darcy is just much much better. I think even Meek’s number one fan would admit that.

I am really liking what Darcy is offering the side at the moment and believe that the more he is in the ruck the better.

Lobb is not ‘my man’. He’s another one of this board’s unjustified whipping boys. I stood up for Ethan Hughes on this board for ages because I thought criticism of him as a player was way off. Rory Lobb is no different.

Cool, Lobb was excellent last week playing on a guy more than six inches shorter than him. Let's hope he can do the same this week without Tabs and on a taller defender

It was only his last goal where his height was the difference in a marking contest. The first two he took uncontested marks and the third he was pushed in the back for a free.

He kicked three of his goals after Taberner went off.

The supply most likely won’t be the same this week, you can almost guarantee it.

What you can also guarantee is people on here will criticise him no matter how well he performs whilst making every excuse possible for why our midfield once again got smashed by a better side (and giving our forwards no supply).

So I should have said let's hope he can do the same this week on a taller more accountable defender

It's a tough one. I can see the pros and cons of having Meek in. Regardless of the decision, we'll probably lose easily and people will pull the pitchforks out on Jlo's team selection.

I think just go tall. Try and stretch Port's defence. Meek has been brilliant this year and it's a good reward for effort. Treacy has also shown enough defensive pressure to say that we won't be too top heavy.

My changes would be:
In: Brayshaw, Meek
Out: Tabs and Crowden (sorry fan bois but still not convinced)

Think we’ll play Meek. Their rucks are average and the 3 talls has shown to work for us. It’s a free hit as far as I’m concerned so happy to see how it plays, might even be useful for future list planning. Darcy is a very handy goal square forward and Meek should be mobile enough to rest forward and at least provide a contest.

If anything, this just shows how dire our KPF stocks are

I will be pissed if we don't pick a KPF in the mid season draft for this reason.

I’m a bit torn as well. Love having Darcy more ruck, but bringing in Meek does put pressure on Ports lack of tall backs. I think Alir (194cm) would have to go to Lobb (207cm) as Jonas at 188cm is way to short if we can give Lobb a run and leap and don’t drop it on his head. Darcy down there would mean Jonas (or Mackenzie 191cm) would have to go him, either of which Darcy could match in body work but has at least a 10cm height advantage....then we still have Treacy running around at 194cm who is taller than both Jonas & McKenzie
