In: a comfortable win at home.

Out: Wharfie Time. Last heard against Collingwood a fortnight ago. It’s only used when we are behind late in the game and has come to remind me of too many crap losses.

It might be an unpopular take, but I wouldn’t mind if it’s retired.
Crap take. Doesn't matter whether it works or not, it got the crowd up and firing. I love it.

Code for 'he will play against Witts'. Horses for Courses.
JL is right though, there are match ups where Darcy is a great choice depending on him being fit.

It's a great problem to have that Voss has improved to the level where this conversation is even possible. I'm on record saying I prefer the Jackson Voss combo currently, however, the mud thrown at Darcy is not on.

He may find his best form and we should back him in to do so. Actively hoping Darcy breaks down so that your preferred player keeps his spot, in this case Voss, is pretty gross.

I want all our players fit and in top form forcing very difficult selection decisions.

Darcy at his best is a far superior player to Voss. Unfortunately, he's well off his best currently.

I love it too but I think they need to have a better judge of footy in charge of the button. They went too early (was still like 15 minutes to go?) and too shallow in the comeback. I thought it actually ended up sucking energy out of the crowd.

Agree, we just need to give Darcy time to get up to speed so he can show us how good he is.

Needs 2 or 3 weeks training / WAFL so he is ready to play and can have an impact.

It’s high point was in the Collingwood game last year. I think it was used after Pearce marked and goaled to bring us within one point.

Together with the emotion of that moment, it really brought the excitement to fever pitch.

I seem to recall it has also been used in losses against Brisbane (2023), Geelong (2024), Port (2024) and Collingwood (2025). Possibly also the loss against North Melbourne in 2023 - I’ve tried to expunge that one from my memory.

In using it when they do, they run the risk of it being associated with close losses, and it may end up being counterproductive to the psychology of the crowd and the team.

So after the BF melts, Darcy won't be playing this week AFL or WAFL lol

I think this is pretty concerning. It means there is another injury they are managing which is going to affect him this season or his knee is so cooked that he can't get through a week of training without issues....

Coach said earlier this week that Sean's body would tell them if he needed another session before playing, so not coming back 100% as the interview says could just mean he needs that Saturday training session.

Concerning with that the worst case (and entirely realistic) scenario. There is going to be SOOO much smoke and mirrors around him the rest of the year though that the truth is going to be very difficult to know

Or.... It looks better to say that he is injured rather than he was fit but not picked 😉

Glad they took this decision. Jackson and Voss are there so better to train up Darcy for this week and perhaps next week, get him fit for post bye

Does it? Really? Or is that he's come up sore after extended run during training? Or there is really no need for him to play in the matchup with Port?
Stop reading your tea leaves..

Not sure there was a decision to make. He's injured therefore unable to play this week - even in the wafl.
Could’ve had training yesterday and push on Friday. But agreed it’s best to sit out.

Hopefully he trains over the weekend in some capacity. Witts next week will be a tough ask for Jackson. There’s not timeframe for Darcy the way S&C team were talking.

Please just give Ras another full game
Comes down to Banfield (let’s face it he does it the best) or resting Duds or Reid. I would put reasonable money on Banfield.

Ras shouldn’t come under consideration for the sub when they have a midfield of Butters, Rozee, Wines SPP and Boak!
