How many of our team on the wekend have played 2 or more finals? Just Bolton and Jackson? And I count only about 8 that played against the Dogs in 2022. That's more than half your team playing their first final.

If we hit finals with a super young team it'll be like 2003 where when the heat went up in September we were bullied by the experience of Essendon.
??????

Ah ….. you realise we played 2 finals in 2022 right ?

That there's still a tiny, very slim chance that at Fyfe and Michael Walters may both reach their 250th game AND that it may be in a final AND it may be together in the same final, has given my nuffie purple heart way too much hope for a fairy tale season end.

O'Meara was the 6th highest ranked player in the side prior to injury (and still is for the season)View attachment 2333659
For those who cry "But the eye test" he was ranked much lower for us last season (13th).

Fyfe I think is done, but I think that problem will get solved by him inevitably getting injured again.
On the eye test I still feel like JOM handballs backwards way to often for my liking.

Who are you dropping to bring in JOM and Walters

Ryan Pearce Walker
Clark Cox Chapman
Noddy Young Wagner
Bolton Treacy Reid
Dudley Amiss Voss

Jackson Brayshaw Serong

Johnson, Erasmus, Simpson, Freddy.

Sub: Fyfe.

Depth: Darcy, Walters, JOM, Sharp, Sturt, Worner, Walters
Very good team selection, just Worner in for Walker for mine. Walker is too prone to clangers, Worner harder than a cats head.

Hmm, I think they are a bit even atm. Walters just has all his games experience left to nudge ahead... maybe... I think they might interchange them week to week for the second half.
Walters has been immense for us and a favourite player. He is in the twilight and just missing that yard of pace that the current small forwards have to close down defenders.
That forward pressure ensures the ball is not whisked out of our 50 and delivered well up the field.
We win games when our forward pressure is high, I’m just not sure Walter’s can bring that anymore. He would make an excellent sub and would likely do exactly what Fyfe did last week. Perform well when the teams have tired legs in the last quarter.

Pearce still listed tbc maybe because they had 4 days off? Potentially leave this side unchanged for a big test against North. Otherwise minimal changes Pearce and NOD in. Twiddle with the sub options and 2 rucks for matchups. Great to see Walkers time to fitness coming down.

Merriman said this week they're still not sure on AP's timeline.

1 of the Walters would be in for dudley
When fully fit (not sure he is) I think sharp would be in and nod to the bench, Ras back to depth
Darcy in. Midfielder out… maybe nod? Cripes it gets tough.
Crap - you’re also missing switta. He’s got to be in - Simpson out. Wags then has to cover hbf again rather than wing.
I also think JOM is in the 23, probably for Fyfe.

That is tough. Unfortunately won’t ever happen.

Ins: Justin Longmuir (he's one of JL's favourites), Jeff Farmer, Dion Woods, Luke McPharlin, Leigh Brown, Steven Koops, Paul Medhurst, Matthew Pavlich, Graham Polak and Trent Croad, different coach for the game

Outs: Discuss
Dion Woodsy Woods. By God, there are some stories to tell there.

Footy was genuinely fun in those days. May be a function of youth but I loved all that flakey shit and the insane promise.

Whatever, if you think the amount of competitive effort and committment Freddy has to 'the contest' will take us to a premiership, then good luck with that.
Have you seen some of the players that have premierships.
There’s a salary cap you can’t hold a team together of brayshaw serong young Jackson Treacy amiss Clark Bolton long term without your Freddy banfield wagner Warner
It’s Freddy’s best year on the score board as a long term freo fan goals are a joy after a dour 10 years

He's been here 5 years and nearly 100 games, some of fans around here seem to prefer the 0-30 game players due to potential and exponential improvement if we play them. Then when we play too many of them and lose, the incumbents cop the blame but the kid on 10 disposals is fine as they are just learning.

God forbid if someone is on zero games for a number of years and do alright in the WAFL.

Not sure where to put this, but for anyone that knows - is our cheer squad going to be situated in the normal end for next week or will it be flipped as we are the "away" team. Want to buy tickets and sit in my normal seats but will switch pockets if so. Cheers
The cheer squad is definitely in our usual spot.
