Prediction Changes Round 14 vs Dees

The biggest issue is that his role from WAFL to AFL is completely different. At WAFL he is able to play as an on baller (which he has done well through out his career) but in the seniors he is forced to play HFF/wing/defensive mid and is only sed as a rotation on ball and that mostly as a blocker.
I agree that it's a problem. We're either training him out of position, or playing him out of position.

We shouldn't make to many changes but would like to see Mackenzie out for Lycet then Gov down back, Crips out for JK, Cole out for Sharrod, Lecca out for Hill and I know this wont happen but Pridda out for Partington.
And you happy that Nelson will get up for the game and Kennedy will either be coming back through EP or still not ready? Not sure if you saw Lycett playing at EP but he only played half a game and was OK but obviously rusty. You post made about as much sense as these omissions.

PS I do like and support your optimism on Parto in for Ploddis.;)

Did you even watch the game. Cole had a very good game (stats may not show it) but his pressure, tackling and skill were excellent for a third game in a pressure cooker environment. Plus nelson is injured.

Yes I did watch the game I was there and agreed his effort was there. But At this stage of the year and how tight the ladder is would rather the experience of Sharrod over Cole. Maybe if we had a few more wins under the belt could player more of the kids

Last night we went with Vardy in the ruck and Petrie backing him up playing forward, Darling forward, McGovern starting forward, Barrass, Mackenzie and Schofield in defence. That's a tall line up. Worsfold-esque.

We have Kennedy back in a week or two, Lycett back soonish and Naitanui potentially back this year. What is the ideal balance? Is it as simple as Kennedy, Lycett and Naitanui in and 3 out?

The experience of Sharrod offered very little in our losses to Hawthorn and Essendon.

Just like the experience of Butler and LeCras isn't really getting the job done. We were without Kennedy against Gold Coast and proven goal kickers LeCras and Darling contributed 0.1 between them.

Whether it's Sharrod, Hill (unlucky I thought), Schofield, Mackenzie, Butler etc. not getting a game we need to change up the mix to stay in contention for a top 4/8 spot.

*Takes sponsors hat off* :tophat:

There is only one blatantly obvious change which needs to be made and that is Lecras omission. I don't see how Simpson could possibly front up to the camera yet again come selection time to defend an ageing forward who simply cannot kick goals.

"He's a champion player, we're going to back him in...." **** off mate.

He hasn't kicked a goal since round 7 vs Port. Karpany kicked more goals in his one game, than Lecras has in the last four. Ridiculous.

His field kicking is awful as well. He offers absolutely nothing atm, either doesn't want to be there or is completely devoid of confidence.

Changes: Hill for Lecras.
Perhaps Parto for Shuey if he gets suspended.

Outs: Nelson (inj) , LeCras(omit), McKenzie(or Schofield)(omit), Shuey (susp)
Ins: Wellingham, Hill, Kennedy, Partington

LeCras didn't contribute again, 4 games in a row now.

I don't think Lycett has the tank to play a full game yet, when he does come back I think a straight swap for Petrie.

Yep I stand by what I said, I think by next week the players I have mentioned will be fine to play. Lycett was put on limited mins and should have a better game this weekend in the WAFL.

yeah that's true... but think of it this way maybe the damage could have been worse if we had kids playing and less experience in our side?

The problem was LeCras is that he's always been extremely selfish. In the past it didn't matter as much, because he was good enough to kick goals from anywhere, or bob up in the right spot at the right time. Now that's gone, he burns teammate and doesn't work hard.

Cole out for Wellingham is ridiculous given Cole just had his best game showing real intent and aggression.

Ladder position & seniority can take a flying **** for all I care, that type of game must be rewarded.

Changes

OUT Nelson inj

IN Wellers

cole showed more poise in a heated situation than Wellingham has all year. Sure wellingham might get the ball close to 20 times but he butchers it and cause more costly turnovers than he does good. Wellingham needs a stint at EP to work on his kicking and decision making. Cole now needs to be backed in like we have backed duggan and nelson.

Watching Lecras body language after the game talking to Shuey, while he gave the footy to the kids in the crowd, he knows that he isn't playing well. He just looked like he was spent. I think after a win like that most players are exhausted but you can see they are upbeat. He wasn't

Noticed that too. Was the same last week against the Suns, looks a broken man. Its bordering on cruel picking him every week when in this form. Maybe has to rule himself out again if the club want him to play not matter what. I've been filthy on his form for a long time but we're at a point now i'm just feeling sorry for him having to be out there, genuinely felt like he was fighting back tears last night and its not a pleasant thing to be witnessing. When players stink it up its all well and good as a fan to sink the boot in because you feel like it comes with the territory and they'll cop their whack and get dropped and hopefully come back better for it and all will be forgiven but having seen that last night its starting to feel really inappropriate and uncomfortable and just makes me angry at the club for being too gutless to make a tough decision. That its now destroying a blokes legacy as a player. Hard to appreciate an all australian level talent when you have to watch this many games of them below their best. Hopefully we win every game from now till October to take the focus off this train wreck.

See how things go tomorrow but right now I'd say one forced change which is Wellingham for Nelson than give Karpany a good crack at it replacing Lecca.

Need has never been more desperate to get a small fwd in via the draft and have a good crack at Brandon Matera via trade

Other than potential forced changes, I would be quite happy for the team to stay as is.

If they bring the same intensity to every game for the rest of the year, there would be no need to make any changes

Absolutely. Very strange to see people calling for 4-5 changes after a win like that

No Kennedy? He wasnt far off for this game so he'll surely be back next week, we have a 9 day break...

Unless injury of course.
