Well there's Nelson and Shuey forced outs, we have Kennedy returning and LeCras contributed nothing for the 4th week in a row both changes are arguably forced.

I'm not convinced Kennedy will return. Didn't train this week and Simmo didn't sound super confident that he'll get up next week

Simmo said pre-game that JK "wasn't close" and "hadn't really trained". Anyway this is all quite semantic, who knows if he'll play. I just wouldn't count on it as a certainty

Last night we went with Vardy in the ruck and Petrie backing him up playing forward, Darling forward, McGovern starting forward, Barrass, Mackenzie and Schofield in defence. That's a tall line up. Worsfold-esque.

We have Kennedy back in a week or two, Lycett back soonish and Naitanui potentially back this year. What is the ideal balance? Is it as simple as Kennedy, Lycett and Naitanui in and 3 out?

I think we move Gov back to the backline, drop McKenzie or Schofield. Bring in Kennedy.

Then when Lycett is fit we probably drop Petrie as Vardy > Petrie atm.

When Nic Nat is fit we'll probably have to judge which player is playing better out of Lycett and Vardy. Could also look at Darling if he's not performing and move Vardy into his role whilst Lycett takes the ruck/fwd spot. All comes down to form and fitness.

Vardy has kicked 5 goals all year from 4 marks inside 50. He's been handy, but I reckon Lycett offers more as a #2 ruck playing forward. Petrie is the best forward of all the ruck options but he's past his best and ordinary in the ruck. It's a shame McInnes' form doesn't translate to AFL level, he's great around the ground.

We could probably play Darling at HF if we ****ed LeCras off.

Lol at some of these changes. You know there will only be 2 changes, possibly 1. Wellers for Nelson only if Nelson is out. And it is time for the future Goat to come back in and replace Lecca. We could of really used Masto goal scoring ability and tackling pressure over lecca.

Comes in if his fit, probably for one of the tall backs and than swing McGovern back to defence.

I'd lean towards the side of caution but. Happy for him to return the following week in Melbourne against the Dogs.

I really want Darling to take Le cras role, high HF, roam up the ground with small stints in the midfield. Darling would simply add so much more than Le Cras especially with the main defenders worrying about Kennedy, McGovern, Vardy and Jetta.

McGovern really impacted as a forward ruck and Melbourne are struggling in the ruck, Gawn may be back but he will lack fitness.

Means Darling can actually play 3rd tall properly, but on the downside it only really leaves us with Cripps as a genuine small forward.

Doubt they'll go down this route.

I'd love him to be dropped but it would never happen. Like Cripps he's got full immunity it seems.

He's been very mediocre since the 2015 finals series and isn't really offering us much now that we aren't going with a short defensive setup.

Noticed that too. Was the same last week against the Suns, looks a broken man. Its bordering on cruel picking him every week when in this form. Maybe has to rule himself out again if the club want him to play not matter what. I've been filthy on his form for a long time but we're at a point now i'm just feeling sorry for him having to be out there, genuinely felt like he was fighting back tears last night and its not a pleasant thing to be witnessing. When players stink it up its all well and good as a fan to sink the boot in because you feel like it comes with the territory and they'll cop their whack and get dropped and hopefully come back better for it and all will be forgiven but having seen that last night its starting to feel really inappropriate and uncomfortable and just makes me angry at the club for being too gutless to make a tough decision. That its now destroying a blokes legacy as a player. Hard to appreciate an all australian level talent when you have to watch this many games of them below their best. Hopefully we win every game from now till October to take the focus off this train wreck.

Perfect example when he was involved up the ground, ball went on the 45 across half forward and he sprinted towards goal and marked in the square. Power running and workrate after losing his opponent in trafic.

Would love to see him play off a wing for periods like Riewaldt / Richardson did later in their careers.

I like Petrie a lot, does a massive amount off the ball, one percenters which go largely unnoticed.

But Kennedy has him as our FF if fit.

And McGovern as backup ruck / forward is also much better. Loved the Govs workrate last game.
