Does wellingham deserve to come back in? How'd he go for the royals yesterday?

I wasn't overly impressed with his game personally but he was named as one of EP's best on the WAFL site which I believe is provided by the club. He also got through the game unscathed and showed no signs of being in any discomfort with his ankle so I'd say he'll be firmly in the mix to replace an injured Nelson

What's the feeling in regards to Kennedy? Will he come in this week?
Somewhere between doubtful and a certainty

I'm not trying to be funny, we just genuinely don't know and the club is notoriously unreliable when it comes to information on injured players

50/50 is the best answer you'll get

Melbourne have now won 3 games in a row and the last time they won 4 consecutive games was back in 2006. That year they won 5 games in a row before losing to us at Domain, then later in that season, they won another 4 games in a row before losing to Dockers at Domain. Hopefully their current three game winning streak ends next week at Domain.

In: Karpany, Kennedy (if fit), Hill
Out: Lecras, Mackenzie or Schofield, Nelson (injured)

Think Duggan played well when moved to defence on Thursday, may be we could rotate Duggan and Hill through the back half - unlikely but this gives us a lot of options in attack too.

We humiliated him and is team when he was playing.

melbourne are full of the entitled who think 'we are the oldest club we must be the most respected' - where these new not real teams (who financially saved the VFL). That why they tanked- win at all cost just like the jabbers. absolute ego
Think also that Lyon still comes from the old school of thinking the competition is still the VFL - Probably holds a grudge that we were the first non Victorian team to win the flag and take the Cup out of Victoria - how dare a team from outside Melbourne win the flag and with only having been in the competition for 6 years! Melbourne as a whole (not the team) were in mourning at the time:). Not all are like this fortunately but think Lyon (and possibly Sam Newman as well) think like this going by their apparent dislike of West Coast Eagles as a team?

I don't think Kennedy will play.

We are defiantly too tall though and more leg speed and depth through the middle.

Out: Nelson (inj), EMac (team balance)

In: Wellingham and most likely Redden. Would rather see Karpany. Butler also a chance, Dees have a few medium forwards to deal with.

Can only imagine we will remain defiantly too tall.

I would name him and then make a late change. Let the Dees waste time and effort planning for him and then go in with a more mobile team.

Two late changes, Kennedy and EMac out, mobile runners in.:thumbsu:

I would be happy to just see one change this game... Drop eMac, put Gov in the backline and bring back JK (that's if there are no injuries or suspensions) Last week we showed grunt and hunger for the ball, something we have lacked all year. If Nelson is injured would like to see Sharrod return

Priddis played the second half with a thigh injury , I know he doesn't run that quickly so probably be right to play on Saturday if not then Redden most likely .

IN Wellingham
OUT Nelson

I think some people have their facebook fan page blinkers on when it comes to Shuey.

If it was good bloke Hodgey hitting Dangerfield we'd all be demanding he gets a week, and conversely the vic media would probably find a way to get him off.

I'm glad Shuey hit Danger, but any other day and Dangerfield doesn't get straight back up and that's a clear suspension, no doubt about it.

Depends if the MRP deem it intentional or reckless. It is what it is, but Shuey put himself in this position by laying out their best player off the ball. I liked it but you can't complain about it when he gets cited. Cop the whack and move on.

I refer to exhibit A your honour.

Note Mr Shuey's eyes are on the ball even as he's putting down that campaigner like a sack of baby shit. As a result he's now in the box seat to win the footy (even as Duckwood is doing as Duckwoods do). The ball is in play! Even better I further note his feet are firmly planted on the ground... this is not how you go about it if your intent is to put that shit stain nigh night! Cant be "intentional" and because His Softness himself Rodney Dangerfield got up the force cant be anything but low.

Hackdorn seems to think JK will play this week. He mentioned he and the medical staff were willing to let JK play but Simmo wanted to hold him back an extra week to make sure. If true good work Simmo because i am sick of players and medical staff letting players come back early and then they break down.

Surely we have backed in LeCras beyond the level of being supportive. The simple fact is that he has been goalless in the last 4 games meaning he has not kicked a goal since May 6th. If I was Melbourne and LeCras plays, I would play Jayden Hunt on him which means Hunt will be able to do whatever running out of defence that he wants because this area has been a weakness for Mark for at least 18 months.

When the term cooked is bandied around about Mark, I believe the only question I have is medium-well or well done.

Good chance to let Redden lead the midfield in his proper position and see if we can still get something out of him. Watching the game on Thursday you can afford to carry one slow player like Priddis if the others step up. The added bonus is Redden is younger, quicker and has better skills than Priddis. Redden is lacking confidence but if all he has to do is tackle to nullify contests and handball out of congestion I think he would be more useful than Priddis in the middle

Agree, the new 'let's finally tackle' game plan definitely works to his strengths...

That's why i'd prefer Josh Hill. If someone is going to run of Josh Hill they better be willing to see Hill pop up all by himself in the forward 50 and kick a couple of goals. LeCras lost that ability.

I agree - I used to be a big Hill hater but now Im sitting on the fence. He actually has played the small forward roll pretty well compared to our other options although he's never going to tear a game apart he really impressed me for indigenous round and is consistant to say the least. Always manages to kick a goal or two a game which is alot better than Lecras recently. I cant see Lecras ever kicking more than 3, maybe 4 goals in a game for the rest of his career which brings a small tear to my eye. Rest him and put in some real forward line pressure being Hill or Karpany.

Lecras kicked 3 goals in a quarter against Port then sealed the game with a long range clutch goal for his 4th. Whether its injury or just poor form he's had a poor month, before that though he was pretty bloody good actually.

If lecca stays, we need him to kick 6 and retire. Ending on 400 goals for a player his quality would be massive. Unfortunately that ACL injury has impacted his career in a huge way. I'd suspect he would have gone around for a few more years if not for it and kicked close to 500 snags
