The previously mentioned Jack Darling is taller than our starting ruck from the '94 premiership, and a few years on from Darling's debut some of the best mids in the league are taller than him.Give it time. 200+ used to be gangly unco's - suddenly we are seeing quite athletic players at that height. Just numbers i guess.

Ooooh... the huge manatee!A huge manatee?
A huge manatee?
The old truism, a good big player will always beat a good small playerThe previously mentioned Jack Darling is taller than our starting ruck from the '94 premiership, and a few years on from Darling's debut some of the best mids in the league are taller than him.
I understand why you've got SPS out but really hope match committee doesn't go that way. He hardly gets the ball but when he does he is one of the few that shows a bit of composure and evasion in tight and is just about our best tackler. Played his best game for us last week (understand he still didn't get much of it) but hope he gets a bit of a run.In: Sheed, Ryan, Rioli, McGovern, Jones
Out: SPS, Winder, Waterman, Hedwards, Nelson
Backs: Barrass, Gov, Hurn, Witherden, Foley/Duggan, Hough, Jones
Mids: Kelly, Shuey/Clark, Redden, Gaff, Sheed, Duggan/Foley
Rucks: Jamieson, Williams
Forwards: Kennedy, Darling, Ryan, Rioli, Cripps, West, Clark/Shuey
Sub: Nelson
Emergencies: Waterman (held over), Hedwards, SPS
Going smaller because of the weather forecast so bad luck Hedwards. Hurn will have to play tall. A lot of defenders available but Hough gets the nod as a token youth pick, Jones because I feel like the wet weather will suit him. Yeo is apparently a defender now but he can have another run in the WAFL. Nelson is a good sub.
An oversupply of mids anyway, West (assuming he’s right) and Clark will get limited time there unfortunately.
Ryan and Rioli straight in for Winder and Waterman.
Bazzo and Culley chances next week against Essendon.
Culley next week? - Shirley you jest?Bazzo and Culley chances next week against Essendon.
Culley next week? - Shirley you jest?
So soon? If he's thought to be up to speed already, then it would be great to see him in action - and he looks good in the wafl - but I thought there'd be a few weeks at least in prep...
Same here Roger, some new quality blood...I’m just impatient to see some new blood.
And don’t call me Shirley.
I would not be surprised if he pulled up a bit sore after the WAFL game. He was rather proppy late in the game so a risk plus he was short on the chase and pressure from the forward line.Where is Ryan?
Yes he should need him playing carbsYeo shouldn't come straight back in from a WAFL suspension, sorry.
Happy with the other changes.

rain about might null his influenceI would not be surprised if he pulled up a bit sore after the WAFL game. He was rather proppy late in the game so a risk plus he was short on the chase and pressure from the forward line.
