Not sure of the angst over Harmes. Was good a few weeks ago but his last 2 before injury were poor. Also does not play Mc Neils role so not sure of the relevance there.

Our last 4 or 5 picked are inexperienced and hopefully do develop this year for a decent crack at it.

JJ fit, Harmes in form are really the only 2 out who could improve the team selcted this week and even then it would not be significantly (assuming JUH is miles away)

No excuses, 100% between the players ears this game
You mean costly back half turnovers and missing regulation set shots?

I’d back Harmes in to play any role better than McNeil.

Nice you would, match committee and coaching group won't so you can remain unhappy with that

Mc Neil would not be in a team I was selecting, but for the role he is playing Harmes is not close to the amswer, it is an area of weakness on our list.

Would like to see Garcia given the opportunity in the small forward role as he will never be in our midfield rotations, but he needs a few more weeks back

I never suggested Harmes was the definitive solution—only that he’d perform more capably than McNeil in virtually any role.

I’d also like to see Garcia earn more senior opportunities, but he’ll need to make the most of them. While he has greater upside than McNeil, his composure, disposal, and decision-making remain just as unreliable.

Most of us would probably have Harmes and JJ in the side. I suspect if we were playing Sydney this week one or both would be playing.

But we're playing the Tigers and all our regulars except JUH and Weightman are back in the side, so even without Harmes and JJ it's a pretty strong line-up. If ever there was a chance to give Dolan and/or Hynes a full game then this would be it. I know people will say we should always pick our best side and there's a chance it could backfire. However I think it's an acceptable risk with an eye to speeding up the development of these two good prospects.

There's also a reasonable chance we will give Harmes and/or JJ limited minutes on Sunday morning so that they'll be pretty fresh for the Swans game. That aspect of the VFL game will be worth keeping an eye on.

Really like the balance of this team on paper as Coffield adds some needed grunt to the backline. He still needs to perform however, as well as string a few games together.

They have been playing very similar roles, though harmes more wing then forward and McNeil the opposite. Harmes was rated one of the top wingman in the game for the first half of the season I believe.

He was and will be back. With Coff coming in it is more likely Truck will be on the wing with Davo on the other.

Harmes last couple of games were average. It's not like he was dropped, just not brought straight back in to a team that won by 12 goals without him.

Got my reserved accessible ticket and companion ticket for Sunday. Ticketmaster was very helpful. Great bargain using the Flexible 6 member's tickets. Can't wait to see us beat Richmond.

Great choice of game to watch Chicago. Your doctor will be happy. Blood pressure to remain normal and no heart palpitations expected. Your happy dopamine levels will hit record levels as you gloat in the utter destruction of those dastardly tigers.

This may be a moot point already but will you go for a simple lucky meal like a slice of pizza with extra anchovies? Or will you go the whole hog and bask in the glory with a succulent Chinese meal ??

Is it time to bring back the succulent Chinese meal after last year's shemozzle ?

Remembering past results are not indicative of future performance.

Coffield will just replace Cleary in defence. It shouldn't impact any other player, it's the most like for life move we could've made.

I agree he was down on form (much like the rest of the team over those two weeks). I also agree it's hard to make changes after a win like that. I personally feel though he and JJ are being eased back into things with a half of VFL, due to the luxury of the 10 day break afforded to the others. I don't think there is anything more certain then JJ and Harmes both returning next week. I'm sure we will have a couple we could rest next week if we can't find two to omit.

I really like Williams in the backline. If Sanders can make that wing his own, I think we’re better off with him back there this season, we just look a lot more steady.
I like him there atleast against the weaker sides. Playing a more outside role will be fantastic for his development.

Interesting re Harmes. He’s very clearly better than Hynes at this stage so can’t blame him for not being happy

We just might be managing the team this year so should we make finals we are physically in better shape to give the best account possible. Or it could be as simple as they don't trust JJ & Harmes bodies to play out a full AFL game and want to test them in game before coming into the Senior squad

Well he's got a bigger tank and is more versatile.
Harmes does tend to be able to "fix a problem" which is handy.

I'm still not convinced by Coffield either. Smart footballer and gets to good spots but isn't quick or agile after his injuries and not aerial enough to play as a legitimate KPF. Good luck to him.

I tend to agree. His VFL form has been very sound rather than outstanding. Could this be a case of seeing what he can offer before the likelihood of an end of season delisting? Probably deserves his shot. Let's see what he can offer.

Next week's selections vs Sydney may be more telling as to who the best 22 is seen as.

(Watch the 5 day break completely throw my theory out the window!)

I have low BP so a close game would actually be better for my blood flow, but I will sacrifice that for the team. My specialists have "suggested" that my pizza extravaganzas be curtailed. As for succulent Chinese meals... that's a go, as well as sushi.

I'll probably only get chips at the footy tomorrow, a tradition. They will taste absolutely delicious with the salt from Richmond supporters' tears. :'(

I think this is his last opportunity. Stink it up and return to VFL and he goes on the delist column. He has potential and is a good size to play to on medium forwards, it’s just his body has badly let him down. Hope he gets a good last shot at it.
