I guess I should be greatful Banfield finally got dropped, watch him come in as a late sub when either Darcy or Freddy don't come up for the game.
Protected ******* species.
I would actually lose my shit if this happened. Wouldn't be surprised if it did happen tbh.

I still think Banfield should've been dropped weeks ago after playing one of the worst first halves of footy I have ever seen in that Geelong game a month ago.

He's not even in the emergencies you have literally nothing to worry about.

Has Sturt ever had more than 1 game over 10 touches? Let alone 9 games in a row. Has Sturt ever had consecutive games kicking multiple goals? Let alone 4 in a row in his past 7 games? Has Sturt ever lead the coaches votes in a single game? And I'm sure there would be dozens of other stats I could cherry pick like you have here to prove that Freddy is the better player than Sturt. There is not a single world where Sturt is better than Freddy.

Is Sturt kicking 2 meant to be impressive when Freddy has kicked 2+ 16 times? Get a ******* grip.

Neither of them are that good. Freddy has had many more opportunities but is just a disappointment.

Sorry WHO was talking about Ryan as AA? Because I remember him in some mid season teams last year when he was far from it. Those people that have him in are those that look at stats only and have barely watched freo play.

There were a couple goals Greene kicked where he had no body on him at all. That should have been Ryan.
The goals Greene scored were mostly off errors by Freo team mates and one was when green was playing midfield. Luke's been great this year bar the last two games.

Yeah, Freddy should have been made to find form in the WAFL. Bro had been running around doing absolutely nothing for weeks prior to his injury.

Freddy had one bad week before his injury, vs melbourne, where he had 13, 5 marks and 1 goal. He was with the rehab group in the lead up to the Richmond game, so I think it's safe to say he was playing through ankle injury, which was stupid, and he should've taken the week off to get to 100%.

Before that he had kicked 9 goals over his past 4 games. He had a good season last year, kicked 28 goals. He's currently going at a higher goals per game average this year than last. He is far from a dissapointment, and recency bias is playing a huge part in those perceptions.

Agree to disagree. I just can't see where he's been good when his opponents regularly get the better of him, and he's not even top 3 in the club when it comes to intercepts, when that should be his role.

Best player lol.

Give me your B22 for this week.
B: Walker / Pearce / MJ
HB: Young / Cox / Clark

C: Schultz / Jackson / Freddy

Foll: Darcy / Serong / Brayshaw

HF: Sturt / Treacy / Switta
FF: Fyfe / Amiss / Walters

IC: NOD /Ras / Worner / Kuek
Sub: Corbett

One of our most overrated players because he's a likeable guy. Remember a game last year (maybe Carlton) when he had 2 possessions and gave away 5 free kicks and some people on here thought he played a good game.

Lazy, lazy footballer.

... I think peak Freddy is better than peak Sturt
Why do people always talk about "peak so and so" instead of just, you know, the game the person played last week and why despite that performance it suddenly deserves them being dumped while keeping slugs and underperformers in??

Mark my words Banfield will be a late in and we will pay the fine to field him.

So you think Amiss should be dropped for Sturt?
No, any of Hughes, JOM, Henry or Ryan should be dropped, I've given you my 22 above, why keep asking these sort of deflecting questions? Especially when you refuse to answer the basic factual questions I have set out multiple times?

But Amiss had 0 goals and only 5 touches. That sounds like a very bad game for a forward. And if we base it on "you know, the game the person played last week" then he really shouldn't be in the team should he? Unless your logic isn't sound?

Yeah, but he's a notoriously slow starter and usually corrals except for the occasional run down tackle when he feels like it.

Lazy seems harsh though, watching him live he seems to run pretty hard and he does play a role that's a famous vacuum for players. I'd argue he's more not a natural footballer and he's not quite running to the right spots at the moment or not getting involved enough.

Erasmus is still not a guaranteed b22, and likely would not be in if Aish wasn't injured. Johnson had to force his way into the team too. They absolutely both missed the phase. Otherwise they would have had a full season under their belts already like Brayshaw, Serong etc.
I really disagree with this philosophy. You are talking as if Frederick is one of the champions of the club who has earned the right to a B22 place regardless of form.
There is only a handful of players on the list that get to have 2-3 shit perfomces in a row without getting dropped. They are the guys that are at the elite level in the comp - Serong, AB, Young, Darcy, Jackson or former champions with flashes of class still like Walters, Fyfe.
These guys don’t play wafl if they have a bad 2 weeks in a row. They have earned the right through elite performances over a decent timeframe, to find their form in the AFL because they are better players than the role playing members of the team. Walters last year was a good example.
Michael Frederick is not in this bracket. No way! He can’t afford two or 3 bad games in a row. By contrast, No one is dropping Serong or Brayshaw after a few weeks of average footy. But Banfield, Hughes, Frederick, Nod, Treacy, Sturt etc??
They don’t get that luxury.
I don’t think Schultz or Switta are so untouchable that they can’t be dropped either after 3 stinker performances in a row.

Also - Your point about people like Sturt and Erasmus “missing the phase” would be fine if we were sitting like Port Adelaide with 11 wins in a row and the list build was complete. But that’s not the case. We sit 13th, we lost by 70 points last week and our team is simply not good enough yet to make any impact on this comp. We frankly HAVE to improve and move beyond some of these personnel we have that are okay, but not good enough.
I personally don’t think the forward unit we have right now is anywhere near good enough to win a flag. You just could not have any trust in guys like Switta, Frederick, Banfield etc to kick clutch goals on GF day. Even Treacy has it all to prove still. Players like Switta have other attributes that could see them play a role in a flag team but we need more goalkicking talent in that forward line. I’m 90% sure Sturt is not good enough either to play in a flag team but the difference is I’m 100% certain Banfield isnt.

I think you're right. Just looks lost at times and caught way out of position. But I have seen a couple of lumbering ruckman run around him over the year or so, a NM game and Swans game from memory.
