I like the ins, Garcia banging down the door and will be hungry, Poulter playing his forward role at VFL very well and deserved another go. Duryea has been solid of late and keen to see how he looks at AFL level after his spell in the VFL in the lead up to finals.

Lose two wingers but imagine Sanders, Freijah and Truck will take the wings this week with a bit of McNeil.

Or just play Poulter on a wing.

Its what he was brought to trek club for and where he's played his best football at AFL level.

His rangyness will see him move forward and back anyway.

Ahh I disagree, he has been given a new role in the pre-season and has played that role to a good level in the VFL. Feels counter intuitive to then bring him in to the AFL team on a different role now. Also we don't have that 3rd tall / tall half forward with Buku out, so he slots in here perfectly IMO. I think bringing the extra defender in Duryea and leaving Coff in is to allow Truck to move up and spend some time on a wing this week, otherwise we have one defender too many.

I'm thinking it'll be McNeil or Coffield as sub.

Garcia been brought in to play. Poulter is an endurance athlete.

McNeil versatile and could bring energy late.

Coffield isn't versatile, but there are other defenders that could move. We look a defender heavy with Duryea in.

Yes. Thats why its just as likely that Poulter will pay on the wing as he is likely to play as a 3rd tall.
We seem to have settled on the two marking alphas. West, VDM and the next in rotation mids.

The success of Kennedy as that hybrid has made the selection of a dedicated 3rd tall redundant.

He's why Khamis despite doing nothing wrong has found himself back on the fringes of the side.

Its more about how they work in the system that we have at AFL level.

If they cant rise to the level. Then it shouldn't matter as much as it would if we have to bring them in against Adelaide of Brisbane, in the coming weeks.

In my view. Selection this week is all about testing our depth in a game that we should win convincingly.

We shall see soon enough.
