Think we've forgotten what its like to have depth.
Good players miss out, it sucks for them but you dont win flags with only 22 players.
If Logue and Conca are fit they play
Menelgola says Hi! Peter Bell as well, but he did play 2 games kicking two goals with his first two kicks, before we booted a double premiership player for being too slow.Reality hurts sometimes
Ironic since Peter played most of the last half of his career off half back.Always thought Hilly should have been played purely on the Wing and was destined to be our Peter Matera.
Very unlikely.Any chance Valente gets a run?
ConcaVery unlikely.
I think Logue will be the only in.
Conca
For the Dogs to use them as the example as they're the team I'm proposing this concept for as my view is they have the personnel to execute it.
I'd be using Naughton and English on either wing. Hunter I'd personally use off half-back, and I'm not convinced he would be much if any less effective. If that clearly didn't work, I'd push him across half-forward. And ultimately he could be used in either spot depending on where the need is greater, and I feel like he'd still be effective.
Then deeper in the front half I'd be using JUH once drafted. With JUH surrounded by smalls and mediums. With a view towards recruiting a genuine number one ruck.
In the meantime Schache and Trengove would probably be forced while suboptimal to be the key forward and ruckman respectively, had this setup been used this year.
Bruce I'd personally be looking to switch to be a key defender as he has the 1v1 strength, height but most importantly reads it well enough and is a strong contested mark which suggests to me as with the likes of Josh Walker and Liam Jones among others to make that transition, Bruce could similarly carve out a role for himself, and prove an upgrade for the Dogs.
I'd say all of them except Ryan...I doubt that Logue, after such a long lay off, is best 22 for this week. Which defender is he likely to be better than?
That was a snapshot from the 'Lloyd and Barrett Show' on AFL.com which comes out after the round every week. So I guess they had a team put them together. So what are those stats based on?

Yeah but they played witches hats Also, Freo dont get much time on that show. I live in hope every week but we barely rate a mention most weeks. Our group of mids had impressive stats too.
The Bulldogs midfield is crazy stacked, it makes you wonder why they haven't won more games. Then you look at their forwards and defence, that's where they are lacking. Best midfield group in the comp though. It's a strange list profile.
I agree with having Schultz/Crowden go to Daniel who creates a lot of their play from half back. I think we can definitely expose them down back with Lobb, Tabs and Hogan on a dry day. That's if we can get it in there enough, I'm looking forward to seeing how Cerra, Brayshaw and Serong can handle the Dog's mids. Interesting game, they probably need to win to make finals but we'll be attacking it hard to end the season with momentum. I think this game has always been won by the home team for the past 5 years or so, I can see this going right to the wire on neutral ground.
Will be an interesting battle. Freo's midfield was #1 for pressure last time I checked (we've changed a fair bit from the days of Sandi, Fyfe, Neale and Barlow in the middle). I actually think this game could rely greatly on whether the Dog's players get away with throwing the ball or not. Either way our mids need to try and block the quick handballs and get them bombing it on the boot instead. If we let them get the ball to the outside too often it's going to be hard on our back line to stem the flow.Yeah but they played witches hats Also, Freo dont get much time on that show. Are you related to North? He is well down the pecking order I’m afraid. Bailey Banfield is ahead of him and 100% likely to be delisted so the writing is on the wall for North. Valente is ahead of him also and been emergency the past 3-4 weeks. Valente would be close this week but will likely miss out with players like Conca and Logue potentially squeezed in. I would like them to find a spot for Valente to give him a taste but he will need to wait. I’m not sure what the thinking is on Meek - ie whether he is up to it or not. I feel he will get delisted and moved to rookie list.
North no chance and not even a discussion point.
Lobb's importance as a forward is structural, but Taberner and Hogan should be able to form enough of a core for our forward line to function well enough.Re: Meek, don't know how I feel about that - what do we do when Darcy is injured?
Yes, Lobb *can* ruck but it doesn't mean he should; we lose a tall I50 and great contested mark every time he's at the bounce, plus he's too light in the body to ever compete against the really big units like NicNat, Gawn, Witts.
Meek could still have use. Who else is a true/dedicated ruck in our list besides Darcy?
