The Collingwood fans are definitely Co concerned because every second post is someone saying how they're a certainty to win. Definitely some anxiety over there lol. They keep having to repeat as a mantra how good their system is and how many times they've defeated Freo in the past.

It's a pretty disappointing read actually. No insight, just FWGJAU. Figure that one out.
Oppo boards not riding Freo’s dik …. what a shocker

Jezus you’re fragile

At Voss' stage of his career I want to see him "not losing" marking contests if he can't win them. I'd be content with him winning 15-20% of his contests if he then doesn't lose the other 80-85% of them. Always bring it down.

He needs to clunk more, but since he isn't I just want him to deny the marks against.
What do you mean "at this stage of his career?" He's a 22-year-old KPP with 20 games under his belt that was picked up after being delisted. 2/3 of his games have come this season. He was seen as depth and a bit of a liability only 12 weeks ago.

He's just a baby key forward. I don't need him being a superstar all at once and although contested marking is something he needs to add to his game, for now, just making a contest of it is enough. Just bring it to ground and the clunks can come later.

Looks like Deane will be the next man in! He's training with the defence at training.
Amiss v Deane
Treacy v Moore
Voss v Maynard

That's a good match up for Amiss if it happens

I see no reason for him not to come straight back.

He at his best is our best midfielder, no need for him to be playing WAFL.
The only reason for him not to come straight in is to reduce the risk of him going straight out.
Hammys are like that.
Absolutely no doubt that there is more adrenaline and more demands on your body at AFL level, even more so v Pies at the G. Ping.
Is the risk worth it?
What are the chances that the improvement a non-match fit Young brings over whoever he displaces shifts us from a L to a W? Not high enough to justify the risk.
TBH I'd play it safe. Give him a week at Peel. He's so valuable to us over the coming weeks.

Macdonald to Mihocek. Cox on Cox. boom tish. Chapman or Worner to Elliot. Clark to Shultz. Match ups will be tough, but we aren’t outclassed massively.

How will they line up on Treacy, Amiss, Voss, Shai, Frederick and Switkowski.

Jackson to Pendlebury
Johnson to Crisp
Wagner to N.Daicos
Brayshaw to J.Daicos

Darcy vs Darcy a bit of a worry.

Anyone else a bit concerned about us risking Young this weekend? I'd rather give him a run in the WAFL, and then sub next week v Eagles, and have him fully up and running for the Carlton game.
Clubs record on bringing them back to quickly certainly isn't the greatest of late but we dont really have any of the information to know how hes going. Id personally play his as the 3rd tall forward if hes ticked off.

Hayden Young was beaten up in the WAFL when he played there, he tore them apart with talent but the opposition put some big hits on him. One of them had him down on the grass for quite a while around CHB. That's less likely to happen at AFL level.

I’m not sure people understand the massive blow to our chances in the big picture if Young does another bad string in the next 20 or 30 games

It’s a risk when coaches are coaching for their lives as well

Mate, Elliot would absolutely pants Worner, pants him.
Has to be Chapman

I'm not sure it matters who we put on Elliot. It's really up to the midfield and how fast the ball gets down there. If we allow slingshot footy and an open forward line, he will pants both of them. If it's an arm wrestle, then he will struggle against both.

I think it might end up in between where the game is an arm wrestle, but the Pies bust it open at times, and he kicks about 2-3 goals.

I don't trust Youngs hammies yet. Could we give him the HB distributor role instead and swing some magnets around? I actually wouldn't be opposed to pushing Clackers up into the midfield a bit.

No, from what I have heard we have already held him back a month to ensure he is minimal risk when returning.
