Banners did tell me he was playing yesterday when I chatted to him. I didn't ask as sub or starting 22 though

I think banners will be sub as insurance and flexibility with Young starting

Disappointed to see Mitchell has been "managed". Was hoping he'd be one of their main disposal winners. He moves so slowly and can't kick and would have been a liability.

without Hill Collingwood don't have an obvious small forward for Walker to play on. I still would have preferred him over Banfield but it's nothing worth melting over. Young still to be sub I think, unless Banfield is sub but that means Wagner would be playing back and not tagging Daicos which would be sacrilege

Elliot’s still a worry though. We had Ryan on him last time and he kicked 6. We don’t really have anyone to go with him and I would’ve thought Walker was our most viable option. He’s either ready or he’s not and he’s gotten through 3 Peel games which would suggest he’s good to go, if not let him continue to build at Peel.

It’s a strange decision and I don’t like how we’ve gotten back to the point where Banfield is seemingly undroppable again.

How many game has brayshaw and serong missed ? It more the point he riddled with ongoing issues. Brayshaw and serong are the true heart of the club. Pearce is a great player just not captain material

I feel like Elliott doesn't play like the typical small Walker plays on. Elliott is more of a lead up player rather than a crumbing small and for that reason I would put Chappy on him. Walker wouldn't be able to go with him in the air so even if he was playing I personally wouldn't have played him on Elliott.

Kinda feel like Walker's non-inclusion might indicate Young starts. Banfield sub is an easy decision to make, in the sense you're not putting someone's nose significantly out of joint. If there's no injuries/suspensions, next one in results in someone being dropped/sub that feels more significant (apart from Pearce which is an obvious swap for OMac, or Fyfe who would be sub).

Whether that's Darcy "rested", Worner making way, someone like a NOD making way, those decisions feel "harder" than demoting Banfield. Feels weird we flew Walker over to not play him though.

Won a Brownlow doing exactly that. Pretty much won it on a stat sheet because impact wise he was no where near the best player in the league.

Now..I don't want Murphy Reid as sub. He deserves a full game. But if him being the sub is best for the team (which it isnt) then him being pissed about it is too bad. Team game not an appeasement game.

Feel like it’s just this board saying there’s any chance of him coming here. And that’s just because we need a winger and Allan is both from WA and the son of a former captain of our club. We’ve never really targeted young fringe players - pretty much everyone we’ve traded in lately had been best 22 at their club with Corbett being the one exception I can think of. Sharp, Voss and Narkle were added to the rookie list after being delisted so they’re a different category again.
