It's extraordinarily hard to drop anyone after a team effort that laid 100 tackles and steamrolled them in the last quarter. We had no passengers.

I wouldn't say Banfield contributed in any meaningful way. He's an easy out for me for whoever they want to bring in.

Johnson cult refuses to ever acknowledge his poor performances. He can not do a single thing wrong in their eyes.

Man, this seems like one of those 'every accusation is a confession' instances. It seems more the case that the people who hate MJ are completely blinded to anything good he does.

I think everyone recognises MJ's weaknesses and the general consensus seems to be he probably has a B grade ceiling if he can't overcome them. But people can also see that there's a lot of attributes he brings to the table to counterbalance them. Certainly more than whoever is currently running around at Peel could bring to the team. And teams need solid B grade players.

And once the likes of Young are ready players like Banfield or JOM are far more expendable than MJ surely?

I've triggered the Johnson cult again, oops.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but weren't you one of the nuffies talking down on Switta not long ago?

I still remember you saying how bad Pearce is.

Pot. Kettle. Black
If you can find where I was talking down either of those players I'll eat humble pie. I have been as big as you on how important Switta is. Actually one of the things we agree on.

I also cant remember ever saying Pearce is bad, if you can find me that one I'll gladly admit I was an idiot at the time. I dont even understand your point, I have no problem admitting I was wrong. The only player I actually have regret on being way way too harsh that I can remember is Banfield. I said some things on here I won't say about a Freo player again.

My lasting memory on discussing Pearce on BF is even fighting with an old draft watcher in Bishop who definitively stated Pearce will never be AA and im desperately wanting Pearce to get a full season in so I can ping him again and tell him he was wrong.

On paper his game wasn't terrible but to the eye it was horrendous. Totally melted in a finals like cauldron. Barring injury I'd be sending him and Erasmus to Peel for the rest of the season.

I trust paper more than the "eye" of someone who already made their mind up before the game started

Switta is sometimes excellent, and sometimes shizen.
Bit like freo, but he was immense last night.
Reckon we can give this game an almighty shake, they are vulnerable down back.
Moore goes to Treacy, Maynard to Amiss, ??? to Voss. They'll have to pick a VFL player to play 3rd tall, or put McStay or Mihochek back to play on Voss. Will upset their structure I reckon.
Got to lower the eyes, like we didn't last time we played them 9 rounds ago

You're surprisingly immature.

Ridiculous. Ras had his string of games and Sharp was poor all year. Both are well outside B23.

You show your lack of football understanding as you constantly focus on stats. You aren't seeing the things JOM Johnson are doing to protect their team mates, make space, block, position.

JOM didn't have his best night ball in hand but his leadership was there all night, smashing into Newcomb, protecting our other mids. Johnson I have seen him actively blocking for Brayshaw and Serong, and he did a lot of hard defensive running.

You keep focussing on stats though.
Also some Michael Johnson level pointing skills on display too last night. We've been lacking in that area for years

In all seriousness he was setting us up well on the outside at stoppages and kick outs.

Haha, yeah I'm torn... I've wanted Walker back for the last two weeks, but given historical scars this may not be the ideal game for him to try re-acclimate to AFL intensity.
I hear ya, but i recon we need him with elliot and hill running around.

Just out him in all out defense mode and limit his kicking for this week

For memory it was Elliott and Crisp who tore us apart last time, be curious to see what the plan for those two are

Feel like Crisp always plays well against us

Johnson to Crisp, he bullies Serong and Brayshaw. Much better player than Nash.

Johnson out bodied Newcombe quite a few times. His game yesterday was underrated.

rip the bandaid off I say or get back on the horse as another may say. Walker in and Banfield out. Dudley out and Young in as sub.

Better now than in a final. That semi final was almost 3 years ago. Walker is fast and good lock down defender.

Walker is prone to errors because he takes the game on but when it comes off it works well.

His best is good but his worst is cover the eyes stuff because it leads to turnovers in bad spots.

Hopefully his time out has allowed him to work on his disposal.

His run off half back would be also handy to complement Jordan Clark.
