Worner knows his limitations. I think sometimes Jonno thinks he's peak Nat Fyfe. He doesn't often take the first option. Do they keep stats for the amount of times you get caught holding the ball? He's almost at Nick Suban levels this season.
I know this all sounds harsh because he's a young player but it's still the truth.
thats exaclty why hes in the team!? we want him to take on the game, power through tackles and break lines hes the only one who can do that

Worner has been great don’t get me wrong but he got himself in a real pickle when collected the ball around 55m out. It was like he hadn’t been in that situation ever before and froze still in time like a deer in headlights. It was almost like he was trying to calculate in his brain what do I do here kick i50 to someone, kick to the goal square or have a shot. He obviously got caught HTB. He wasn’t sure of his limitations or strengths in that moment.

He has been great in the backline. But posters get stuck into Walker who goes flying through the middle and has often made an error by foot.

That one had all the hallmarks of the team meetings talking about finding a team mate inside fifty instead of taking the shot yourself.

When we really want our half backs to have the swagger or arrogance to take the shot when charging past the forward fifty paint.

Defenders kicking goals is a double win since that forward knows he has to be more defensive and can't allow so much space - and if they aren't taking their chance to kick the goal the exact opposite happens.

Pies Board really doesn't rate our forward line!
Hopefully Fred & Switta follow up their form from Saturday

Hard to blame them after we had 60+ inside 50's and kicked half of them to Moore/Frampton and couldn't beat their B team at Optus.

Most of them probably haven't watched us since then. I saw one post saying there's nothing to worry about because GC are a better side than Freo ... completely oblivious to the fact we beat GC away.

That's just the way it is with the Victorians. They don't watch us play much, and won't rate/respect us until we actually win a flag.

Hopefully the players think the same, but unfortunately after a loss they will be out for blood.

I would love to see Brisbane beat the doggies, it not only helps us immensely but puts Brissie only two points behind the pies, and they might get the famous wobbles.
It could be like watching Greg Norman getting chased down by Nick Faldo in the last round at Augusta

Gee, I must have been at a different game to many here on Saturday night.
I watched the game again last night. And I was not surprised to find that , as I thought Saturday night, that Johnno had a very very good game.
He makes every contest around the ground. Makes a mistake here and there, but, Hey which player doesn't!!!
He bashes and crashes, what he is employed to do. He makes good decisions, which he is paid to do.
Just look at our first goal. Get possession takes a bounce, waits, wsits, waits, Sees Amiss and delivers a cross the body kick to hit Amiss on the chest. That is the work of a footballer.
Watch his inside work top get the ball moving.
Maybe, just maybe, I will rewatch the game agaain tonight just to let myself know that Johnno played a bloody good game.
Oh, and just to add something more.
The DArcy Jackson is working a treat. Both were very good on Saturday night.Darcys' rucking and clearance work was classy. At times played like a rover, well almost, but I am sure you know what I mean.

Yeah let's just go ahead and drop one of our best players
Darcy was worth more than a six.
AND, Chappies bump on Watson was a what could have been a match saver. It was a classic full on bone cruncher.
He gets away and kicks that, the Hawks lift. A game saver from Chappy.

I’d give Chappy a 9 for his tackle on MacDonald and bump on Watson alone

It's extraordinarily hard to drop anyone after a team effort that laid 100 tackles and steamrolled them in the last quarter. We had no passengers.
The suspicion is we're too tall and Voss who has done nothing wrong will eventually have to make way for another runner. But after that effort and with no Peel game I wouldn't be adverse to no change.
Agree but suspect it will be Young in for Dudley with Young as the sub.

Dunno specifically, but it has to be one or less per match as his average free's against is 1.24 and total frees against is 21 from 17 games.
He is ranked 11th for total free's against for us the year.

I feel like Johnson has had some really bad calls against him htb.

He averages 1.2 frees against per game. When you watch him play and think that he is getting caught holding the ball a lot more than 1.2 times per game, you are experiencing this

From The Age

The Magpies confirmed on Monday that Beau McCreery was expected to be available for selection against the Dockers, and that they would regain key forward Brody Mihocek and midfielder Patrick Lipinski, with Billy Frampton described as “an outside chance” to play the Dockers on Sunday.

Feel like the last couple of seasons these are the games we either cause a massive upset and everyone pumps us up or we don’t show up at all and get embarrassed. The duality of Freo

Im pretty confident now we'll show up. Been a while since we haven't. Pies best is a level above us for the moment now though, particularly at the G. Expecting a close loss but cant understate how massive stealing a win would be.

Unfortunately this season we've got progressively marginally worse each game but still either win or lose narrowly to a good team until it all unravels. Then reality hits and we make the required improvements.

If this season is anything to go by we'll lose be less than 20 points and it won't be the end of the world but Port Adelaide or Carlton will smash us in a few weeks instead.

That was the old us , it feels like we've turned a corner now and we'll win against Collingwood this week. Believe !

If we bring he pressure, over 100 tackles is immense.
The crowd obvs helps us here, and it helps the Pies there.
Bring the pressure, silence the crowd. Won't be easy, but the team has got nothing to lose

Old us was getting to about this point of the season (or earlier some seasons) and not winning a game for the rest of the year.

Those seasons injuries were a big factor. It's not long until we have pretty much our whole list back plus our depth is better. It's different.

In a weird kinda way we seem to play better when no one is expecting us to win, this game has a lot of the same vibe as us at the SCG last year
