Does Ras have a defensive enough game to tag Reid??
From what I have observed, I dont think the defensive aspect of his game is a strong point.

"Tag" here means "attempt to nullify at stoppage". It's relatively uncommon for us to actually do a proper run-with job (a true tag).

Ras has had that job with Johnno a few times this season with mixed results. Tom Green had season-low contest numbers. Rowell got his averages, but only had 2 score involvements, idk how much you attribute that to the matchups. If he's had that role on others, it's less noticeable.

The problem isn't Harley's strength - he's done fine enough against the likes of Green and Rowell. The problem that makes Ras on Harley a complete non-starter is the explosiveness. So if you're giving anyone that job, it's a decently big body with a strong athletic profile. NOD is the only player available that fits that.

Yep and NOD's job against Crisp has gone under the radar. Crisp had 9 clangers (#1) for the match because he was played tightly as opposed to cleaning us up in the first game.

Free kicks and 50m penalties also affect your rating. He's given away more than anybody and going at 3 a game average.

If you don't tag him, I'm sure his disposal will get better too.

Yep agree that this is not a job for Erasmus. I think first option is Wagner with a full on tag, he has the speed and is stronger than he looks, then look at NOD if it is not working. You know Wagner has the job if Walker comes into the 23.

Disagree. He's been bad on the disposal end and also given away a ton of frees and 50s precisely because teams have been sitting on him. That's why his rating is so bad.

He's very vulnerable to the tag because of his age and the way he gets fired up.

I think O'Meara has the discipline and size to both frustrate Reid around stoppages and get under his skin.

But if I'm WC I'd try and send Reid to Serong and play them head to head knowing Serong will teach Harley how hard he needs to work off the ball - it would make him a better player long term.

I daresay part of the reason Reid is rated that is the attention he gets. Might not be an elite kick but without pressure applied he's not a bad kick either IMO.

Also think opposition can get in his head at this stage. We can all play our part on Saturday by booing the absolute sh** out of him.
