This board is quite funny. A couple of points can completely flip how they view individual performances. If we had lost the daggers would have been out.Puulleeeease. Gimme a break.
Fyfie is cooked, can't even run. With mj looking like he is out a fit Fyfe coming in towards round 22 could be just what we need going into the finals. If he gets back to being able to play 70% game time we have a chance of goi no deep into September
We didn't lose. We won. He was very good in my opinion. Dropping him is not a chance in hell. This board is quite funny. A couple of points can completely flip how they view individual performances. If we had lost the daggers would have been out.

Neither JOM or Banfield are being dropped not on that last performance. We didn't lose. We win. He was very good in my opinion. Dropping him is not a chance in hell.
Totally agree can’t understand the love for sharp. Just doesn’t get enough of the footy and shirks the physical stuff. We have been a much better team since he was dropped. His weaknesses have been exposed. There was a reason he struggled for games and GC. Sorry mate think your card been stamped.Just Ras for Johnno for me.
Rotate O'Meara and Ras on the wing/inside mids.
We lose a little bit of speed, height/aerial ability and power, but I think Ras may actually be a better decision maker with the ball than Johnno.
Either way, this may be Ras' last chance to have a proper crack at it or else the trade table beckons at seasons end.
Sharp is an even bigger butcher than Johnno disposal wise, and his limitations have become clearer the longer we've had him. He can run, but that seems to be about it. I don't think I can watch him burn another teammate with an errant shot for goal from 55m when the easy short pass is on again, without checking myself in for therapy. Walker has speed, but again seems to freeze up mentally when pressure is applied in the d50 from hard tackling forward lines like the Swans/Pies.
I think we have finally learned errant disposal/poor decision makers in this modern age of transition footy is an absolute team liability/coach killer.
Disagree mate, Banfield can absolutely play the wing role and currently playing better than Sharp (certainly form a physical point of view) and who doesn’t want to see if Walker can come in and improve our run out of the backline?Think a lot of people have misread the role Johnson was playing for us tbh.
He's been playing too much winger to be replaced by some of the players suggested. Will be interesting how the club throws the magnets around if that's what they choose to do. Sharp is the only actual wing replacement.
Geez Worner did not look happy on the bench ( until the siren). I like that, he has worked so hard to make the team you just must give him the opportunity again this weekend but it is nice that selection is getting tight.I doubt very much Worner will be omitted, even if subbed out. He wasn't overly bad yesterday but they had to sub someone out for young. Also had good block of games
Yeh he did look a bit sulky, even after the game when they were singing the song. Understandably so. Wasn't playing too bad but did give few free kicks away but not sure it should of been. More so, there was noone else that could of been subbed off.Geez Worner did not look happy on the bench ( until the siren). 100% this. One thing I've loved in the wash-up is the "phoar Hayden Young is pretty ****ing good". Think a lot of people forgot hes borderline our best player fully fit. Here's hoping mattis117 wasnt fed furphies and they did hold him back to be careful because he has a perfect run to build for finals.
Hes going to change the dynamic of this team and show how ridiculous it was people on here doubted how good our midfield is. There's not a midfiels group in the comp i'd take over ours.
Literally talked about throwing magnets around in post which is another way of saying changing the roles of a few players.Disagree mate, Banfield can absolutely play the wing role and currently playing better than Sharp (certainly form a physical point of view) and who doesn’t want to see if Walker can come in and improve our run out of the backline?
Not sure how much this changes the stats you're looking for (probably just makes the big ones more extreme), but last 5 games is probably more instructive on what he offers and how you replace it than season numbers broadly. Johnno has attended 118 centre bounces this year. But in the last 5 games, he's attended just 5, and had 3 games of 0.Matthew Johnson (stats are midfielders):
4th (2.5) stoppage clearance average at Freo (Serong:4.6/Brayshaw & O'Meara:2.6)
- Next best is O'Driscoll (2.0)
7th (3.9) score involvement average at Freo (Bolton/Brayshaw/Serong/Young/O'Driscoll/O'Meara)
- Next best is Erasmus (3.7)
3rd (16.1) pressure act at Freo (Brayshaw/Serong)
- Next best is Wagner (14.5)
1st (4.1) marks at Freo
- Next best is O'Driscoll (3.8)
=1st (0.4) intercept marks at Freo (Brayshaw/Johnson/Young)
3rd (3.7) turnovers at Freo (Serong/Bolton)

Though conversely, I'd be surprised if he wasn't gonna be set for a role on Harley again had he not got injured. And maybe next week he would've got a role on Cripps too. So maybe some of that goes out the window.
The significance of stats is the great imponderable.Matthew Johnson (stats are midfielders):

You forgot Berry and McCluggage. sheez...Our top 3 mids are elite. I still think depth is an issue. Adding a really good 4th banana or a classy winger would help a lot.
Brisbane with Neale, Ashcroft, Ashcroft, Dunkley, Fletcher are the best midfield in the comp.
We could have subbed McDonald but I think we went first so the Pies Cox could have stretched us til they subbed him out.Yeh he did look a bit sulky, even after the game when they were singing the song. The impact of the rucks is often glossed over in these and Ashcroft jnr isnt all that at the momentYou forgot Berry and McCluggage. sheez...
There is no way that Sharp throws his body into the packs as Johnson does.He is a a runner out side. not a body contact player like Johnno.Literally talked about throwing magnets around in post which is another way of saying changing the roles of a few players.
Sharp is the only player outside the team atm that's capable of playing a role even remotely close to what Johnson was playing. Inside the team that played against Collingwood is a little different and tbh I think we have better depth than Sharp to cover those guys moving into Johnson's role.
