If there’s ever a bloke you give second, third and fourth chances to, it’s the dual (should be triple) Brownlow medalist who captained the side and who has battled on humbly for years to stay a player.
Hasn’t played a single final in a decade. He was 23 turning 24 in 2015. Arguably entering his prime.
That’s crazy.

We don't really need Pearce until the Dogs in the last round and then finals. Brisbane would be nice for his leadership, but tall forwards are not their strength.

I'm not sure he really needs to "build form". He can step straight in and get to work.

I'm sure the umps will still give Curnow at least 3 or 4 frees.

It's going to be a nightmare with Curnow getting free kicks watching on the tv in Melbourne.

no Cerra no Curnow no Doch

gotta win this by 30+

I wonder if that's why they aren't risking rushing anyone back..

That may be the saddest Freo factoid I've ever read

Geez he was younger than Serong. Wasted away his best years trying to pull this club out of a whole. Could’ve left like Neale and had a flag by now

Maybe Brodie gets a fair well game. Pure speculation. Could be part of a deal to pay out his contract this year.
This would be the game to do it.
I don't think we're in the position to be handing our fair well games to players who last played a game over two years ago

"Bont explodes about of the contest" on replay he takes two steps and kicks it lol
But those 2 steps were pretty explosive..

As much as we've probably said this 2-3 weeks in a row every week that passes he's more likely to play. More games he plays the better but he's that good that Alex Pearce without match practice is better than Oscar McDonald.

Feel like if things got to the stage where we really really needed him or finals hes straight in though.

Actually could be.
Just horrible luck around his 30s.
He was the best player in the league and Hayden Young was still older than he is at the time. Insane.

Also should've kicked better for goal in that 2013 GF, and he'd have a statue.
He was one of the reasons we only kicked 1 goal in a half that day, Ballantyne another
Folks who weren’t there underestimate the weather. It was both greasy and swirly… very MCG. Team that virtually never played there struggled to cope.

Decent weather or, dare I say it, fair umpiring and it’s a different result (I was there and watched dickhead get a free which went down the other end for a goal, for a tackle which subsequently earned him a 4 match suspension; also saw Sandi used as a climbing frame by the hawks smalls all day. He literally should’ve had a free kick every single ruck contest. Yep, I’m still angry)

Yep I was there and it was cyclonic, my glasses flew off my head into the Yarra as we crossed the foot bridge. It was swirling badly when Nat took his two shots at goal. Blowing so bad, I swear his ball drop to his foot was affected.
Im pretty sure our best kick Pav stuffed up too.
What pissed me off the most was when Isaac Smith took his 55m shot, it suddenly had a 15 second period of absolute stillness.

So yeah, Im with u Minz.
