Would like to see Jacques play but not sure at whose expense.

Friejah does look a bit tired but this is a real danger game and we have to play our best players. Melbourne looked good today - poor opposition but there players are way better than how they have performed- they would love to kill our season.

VFL game was a good game to watch the trajectory of our players:

BOG: Harmes/Hermes - was everywhere and a level above

Dolan: 3 goals but set up a few too. Was very good and has what McNeil doesn’t - poise, clean hands and good fast decision making. McNeil has been working hard and 3 goals as a small forward is a very good result but his performance under any pressure (like running into goal) I fear will hurt us when we least can afford it.

Hynes: just gets better every week. He is so strong for a first year player.

Jacques: was excellent - skills and class well above others.

Buku: kicked three goals and missed a few in another seemingly good performance but also showed why he is not in the team. On at least four occasions he should have taken a good mark on the lead but he didn’t go hard and waited to get an easy mark on his chest. He is a bit of mongrel away from being a real weapon.

Croft: best game - struggled in the ruck but he fights it out. Kicked three and missed a sitter that should have been four. Still thin but developing well.

Sellwood looks good as a hard small forward. Will be ready for G1 next year. Had a good solid game.

Walker has talent but is thin and haven’t seen enough - did a few things but wasn’t too involved.

Jones, Duryea, Coffield - really looked off the pace. Slowed and kicking power off- Coffield in particular had I think three bad kicks to opposition.

Artie tried hard and good pressure but still a little away. Smith was up against two - maybe not so great min the CB but beat them around the ground. So weird that he looks so much smaller?

I like when you say that Sellwood looks good can you see him play a game this year as a HB

He has the body already and good attack on the ball. I think he could do a lock down role and his skills seem solid without being outstanding. Looks relatively quick but probably hasn’t played well enough - only 12 possession - yet to push the door down.

With smith he does have a long neck so shoulder to shoulder he looks smaller (his shoulders probably sit 5-10 cm below an oppo ruckman. Gives the illusion of being shorter. It’s all about the reach and it’s difficult to gauge but I suspect his reach would also be shorter despite being 203cm

I think Sellwood has push the door down from game one he played

I like to see harms Davidson and Arty in the side
yOU know what we're missing and we've been missing all year long and i'm going to say it here now JUH and Arty now i know you all will disagree with me but that's the missing link

I feel very uneasy about this game.

Probably because of the bad losses we’ve had against Melbourne in recent times.

The JUH game against them in 22 was one of the best games I’ve seen for a while I reckon though.
No May has to help a fair bit.

I think we'd score well against anyone though. Oliver not being the player he has been in the past also helps.

I wouldn't be surprised if Melksham gets a hold of us a bit.

Agree I'm not worried about the WC game, but this one has me a bit nervous.

I mean we should definitely feel nervous. This is a big challenge. We never play on the G and Melbourne are experienced and talented. They have a bloke called Gawn, they’ve got Trac and Kosi and plenty of other pesky types. That is a lot to deal with.

Of all of our games against bottom half teams this one and the Sydney one are the toughest. Great opportunity to dig deep and try and find a way to extend our season.

arms attach to shoulders, so unless he is a simian, his reach will be 5-10cm below also.
