Hi, guys! Have never watched a game in Manuka before and driving down to see it - is anyone able to tell me about ticketing and seating? Would love to sit with the Freo contingent as my husband refuses to sit in the cold for two hours plus. 😂😂

Too right. He was Margettesque for us.

I was genuinely confused. I needed a coherent Weavil to explain how to unblushingly accept that sort of charity.
I remember leaving the game and thinking - "this must be what it's like being a west coast fan"*

Ignoring the fact I was delusional enough to think my club deserved all those free kicks.

Hey GB. They usually put the away team where I have circled

There are some good pubs just across the road at Manuka in the main st too

We just need to hit up the leads of Frederick, Schultz, Walters etc while the Giants bulk man Darcy and Fyfe - then kick our set shots and we will be fine for scoring power.

The last game against the Giants had both Tabs and Lobb and they only kicked one goal each.
Random thought here.

I still remember freos last win vs Geelong in Perth, it was back in 2019.

Why did I bring this up?

Because Freo some how kicked 14.11.95 and won by 33 points. It was one of the last wins under Ross Lyon as coach.

Ed Langdon kicked a goal from outside the 50 Metre arc.

Sean Darcy our ruckman was out Only tall that was over 190cm. Ballantyne and Walters played that night. The other 3 forward spots were occupied by midfielders

From memory that was the game where Mundy was playing as a forward without any impact for most of the game, the commentators were talking about injecting him into the contest and then Darcy had some silky taps to set up a couple of goals including to Mundy, who also kicked a goal from the boundary - dead straight kick.

Yep. Pruess was part of the reason why Freo couldn't get more than 1-2 points clear of Giants until 10 minutes into Q4 in their last game....even with our astoundingly favourable free kick differential (40-16 in the end).
That was a memorable night. A rare night that the umpires heavily favoured us.

What made it even more hilarious was an eagles fan actually went to this game and claimed we gave razor Ray a standing ovation at the end of the game.

Last time there were plenty of Freo fans scattered from the scoreboard to the Hill Stands (the outer in cricket ground terms).

Twas the forward line from hell :)
8 of our goals came from players who were NOT named as forwards (2 Langdon, 2 Fyfe, 2 Mundy, 1 Brayshaw and 1 Duman)....
Its never as good as it seems or as bad as it seems :)

And to continue the double act with Simmofreo - The Public Bar is an option straight across the road, although I would recommend either the Kingo Hotel, or if your looking for a celebratory cocktail, Joe's Bar in the East Hotel (the Manuka Crescent gate).

OMG Joes bar !!! Forgot about that. Yeeesss people have to go here

The reason I forgot is because last time I was there, I got absolutely spanked on cocktail specials and passed out at the bar. Had to be carried back to my room haha

Blah blah blah all you pussy doomers are shitting yourselves over nothing again

Well

We have not won a last game away since 2003

20 ******* years

Now that is an incredibly bad bloody stat

Saw that stat. The away derby in 2003 is our ONLY win away from home in the last round.

Every time we’ve left Perth in the final round we’ve lost.

Expecting us to win tmr but circumstances (no KPFs) are sort of lining up in a way to make that less likely.

If you sit where that mud map points to, your husband's arse will be in the cold for 2 hours plus

It’s been a couple of years since I watched a game at the Pub but I always used to enjoy the South Beach Hotel cafe/restaurant/bar area. Good food & a very relaxed pro Freo crowd vibe. Perhaps more adult oriented though.
I would echo Varsity. Kids can go play mini golf or bowling in the same complex. They’ve really made an effort there (FOMO) despite the awful name. There’s some great Asian food in the food court too.
I don’t think you go into the putt putt and bowling without an adult as it’s licensed. When I walked past Thursday bouncer on the door checking ID.

Thanks for the replies - will there be parking or should I leave my car in the hotel? I’m assuming I can get tickets and just sit anywhere?

I’m really nervous for this game - they better win!

To this day, it mystified me how Freo managed to get 14 goals from that side with that forward line.

Ross Lyon might of been a defensively minded coach, but to some how squeeze every drop or goal that night and beat a cats side that ended up minor premiership winners was not a bad effort.

You can get a ground pass and go anywhere in the outer half. If your hotel's anywhere nearby I would take Shank's pony to the ground.

The boys made hard work of it Saturday. Gave away a lot in the first half, but recovered well to gain control.
I feel that Longmuir was testing a few things out early on as well.Darcy up forward, Meek rucking for large parts of the game.
Fyfe used as a mid on few occasions.
Serong was out standing. Had a great game, as did Noddy. Walters lifted for this one, played very well.
Again the backs were brilliant.
Had to admire the work of Giants FB Sam Taylor. He was impassable due to the fact we kept bombing it in towards where he was.
A gritty win and our last two games have been tough ones. Maybe hold us in good stead for the finals.
