6-6-6 has changed little, we won the clearances against Richmond.

It was after the clearance where we got smashed, particularly once the weather changed.

-22 for contested possessions and -23 for uncontested possessions; beaten on both the inside and outside.

If that doesn't scream that the team is in need of more bodies to improve the midfield then nothing does.

100% this and they had like 20 more inside 50s. Walloped in fact, so we need an injection of some fresh legs for Saturday, as we had very little run after the 1st Q.

Do we need fresh legs? Or just for the guys in the team to do better?

Yeah pretty much.

But I wish we had a better rickman.

Where's Vardy at? Any chance of a comeback?

Also wouldn't mind AhChee and Cameron for Waterman and Petch.

Cripps needs to play up the ground as per Rioli. Lacking midfield support. Hardly sighted those two around the ball up the ground. Need their run skill and class.

Sure I read they will allow them to play at gmbh
No they wont.

From article... https://www.geelongcats.com.au/news/2019-08-14/weve-got-no-choice-but-to-acquiesce-scott

On Wednesday, the AFL ended any prospect of Geelong's matches taking place on its home deck.

AFL fixtures chief Travis Auld told News Corp maximising attendances would be the centrepiece of the finals fixture, meaning the 100,000-capacity MCG would be Victoria's finals venue ahead of GMHBA Stadium or Marvel Stadium.

For this match, Hutch an injury out. Duggan or Ah Chee can come in.

I'd like to see a way to get Cameron in and I think the zip and tackling of Watson would be useful come finals.
There is a lot of call for Rotham to be dropped, but I thought he was pretty good again. Has looked good in 3 out of 3.

Geelong are gutless, what the point of slogging your guts out all year finish top 2 then play your first final away from home?
Screw people want to see the game live, Im sure the desire for fairness and a better crack at the flag trumps any $$$ the AFL wants to cram into the pockets. This administration shits me.

I for one am happy with that decision.

Geelong have the biggest advantage over any team in the league. Get to play interstates and minnows at their home ground. Get plenty of games on the MCG without incurring true travel burdens against bigger Vic teams. It’s like the perfect set up.

But Geelong are reluctantly "acquiescing". If the admin aren't that happy then I guess then I'm not sure its that great of a setup.

If the Geelong thing wasnt a VFL cash grab and favouring I would be ok with it. But if you dig a bit deeper - GWS dont play home finals at the SCG (3-4 time the capacity of their paddock - which I enjoy - and in the same city sort of) Where would Gold Coast play - not the Gabba I am sure.

If the AFL is one thing it isnt a sporting comp with integrity

I agree. I suggest that with Schoefield we would have won.
I tend to agree.
As much as I like Rotham and actually felt he held his own and was far from our worst, Schoeys experience and pressure on the last line may have meant a couple of those bad turnovers didn't happen.

But what is done is done. We have one more game to tweak any positional changes and come up with our best line up.

Schoey out of the side coincided with our last 2 losses right? Also of note that our defence was leaky against Collingwood, and against Melbourne. Pretty sure Barrass was manning Fogarty last week as well.

That's a worry. We need Schoey in as our lockdown. Shuts down either Riewoldt or Lynch and we win that game.

Barrass is still developing but I he's more in the McGovern mold and not up to that lock down role. It's one thing for our backs to be intercept marking, but if we don't pluck them, the contest is still alive. Schoey is the kind of defender who knows to just kill the contest. We need that experienced head down back.

I hope we bring him back in, but Barrass won't be making way for him, I'm sure of that.
