He has been in good form all year. It's not like he has been rubbish all year and I want him in purely because it's a farwell match.

We have fourth spot wrapped up. Players like Bones deserve the chance to be seen off one more time

And prevent a player like Butler coming in? What practical sense does it make to play him?

Don't care about a farewell match for Bones, but I am very happy to have him as our backup if someone goes down in september.

Shame Brett Jones wont get a farewell match. More than likely will be tapped on the shoulder at seasons end or if still contracted will be paid out like what happened to Hansen.

Butler didn't do much last week end.

So Butler in for Schofield and Darling in for Hams. Strange direction, who will be sub? Perhaps Butler.
I imagine they'll sub him off at some point. Better to know he can play three quarters rather than one.
Smith to sub again, I imagine.

Disappointed to see Hams out, thought he did well last week. Thought too that Cox, Embley & Naitanui should have had a break as well.

On the plus side good to see Darling and Butler back. Hopefully Butler can have a calming influence over our defence which has been a bit creaky in the last few weeks. Darling will give us our full forward pressure ability back.

Considering Butler and Waters are both named, I'm going to assume one will be a late withdrawal and Bones will come in for a farewell match!

Maybe A. Selwood to sub to allow other backline contenders to battle for a spot?

Smith started as sub last week, good chance to do it again so we start with Butler and switch him for Smith when he's cooked.

He's uncontracted, 29, and given his good form/non-selection this year pretty much a certainty to be gone.

Yeah hawks aren't even showing up given their "outs." Happy with our team though, no reason to stop winning now!

Don't get Lycett having surgery now though, what if a tall goes down?

Lynch goes to ruck simple except if there's more injuries then we're ducked

I really hope they don't make one of our fringe players sub.

Masten, Ebert, McGinnity and Smith are fighting to keep their spot when Kerr and Schoey returns. Whilst Ebert is favourite to make the 21, and McGinnity/Masten to be sub, I'd like all 4 to be given a full game so we can make an informed decision on who will be best against the pies.

If Smith is sub I'd view that as the kiss of death.

Good changes. Hams wasn't going to keep his spot over Ebert/Masten on previous form.

Sub will have to be either Mcginnity or Butler. Glass, Emac, Waters, Butler, Selwood, Hurn, Smith and Mcginnity is one to many defenders. No chance of Ebert being sub because we have less half forwards.

Spewing Hams has lost his spot.

I would've dropped McGinnity ahead of Ashton

Surely you're kidding, he's top 22 (or at least top 24) whilst I would say Hams wouldn't be. Plus, not to take anything away from Hams' performance last week, but McGinnity was one of our better players last week, especially in the horrible 2nd quarter.

Butler and Waters in the same side heading into finals is a good omen, ala 2006.

Knowing our luck, Waters will now get injured in the pre-game warm up.

Very pleased with the changes for this round, hopefully Butler can stay injury free and play throughout the finals. Just add Kerr :thumbsu:

I think Lynch is going to do a bit of rucking.

Keep Cox and Natanui fresh.

Ah you see the value of Lynch now.

We can leave Natanui up forward for a long time if it clicks with him there during a game.

Interesting that other teams are now trying to do the same thing for next year.
Dockers are chasing Mitch Clarke to have our 3 ruck system.

Lynch is a trend setter !! hey hey
