He'll do nothing. Like every week.

MFC overpaid

Lever was coming to VIC regardless. He nominated the Dees because no one came close to offering the coin we promised.

We had all the leverage in a trade but sent the Crows 2x 1st rounders because our football department is ******ed
Totally agree with Roo on this one. Lever has been bog average so far.

Big game for us in the context of our season. Play 4 quarters of footy, win and then suddenly at 2-1 and we have our tails up

Yep. We drop this one and likely lose to the Cats next weekend and then we're playing catch up which we're never good at. If we can win this weekend and sneak a win against either Geelong or Swans, we will be in the mix. I can easily see us 1-4 though. 3-2 should be achievable, but who knows with this club. I can see Tippa kicking 6 goals this weekend and destroying us.

We overpaid in draft picks for Lever, but he was wanted by other clubs, now that he did his knee again its hard to remember but he was valued highly by the whole comp. We might have paid him extra for 2018 knowing Trac, Clarry etc will be demanding more this year, i highly doubt we have paid overs for him salary wise.

What is Roo's point anyway? Is he trying to justify why they are bad, because they couldn't hold onto good players? Because he convienently forgetting the draft picks that all the players traded out netted them and what they did with those picks. Also how can he have a dig at ex-players performing badly but then also say they would be better with them in the team?

If he is trying to distract people from talking about why so many players have wanted to leave the Crows, even when they have had succesful teams, then he is doing a bad job.

Is anyone really upset about the draft picks we lost for Lever? Petty will turn out to be better than anyone drafted between 10-20 in that 2017 draft that we might have taken, and Liam Stocker is a straight up hack. There’s no way Lever wasn’t worth pick 10, and if you’re upset about losing pick 18 as well even leaving aside the pick 37 we got back and used on Petty you’re taking the draft too seriously.

It’s a classic diversion tactic by Roo.

The question remains. Why have so many players walked it on Adelaide?

Lever is fine. He’ll probably not live up to the hype, but he’ll be a very serviceable footballer for us

might as well take Weideman out back and shoot him if they think TMac and Jackson are better options at this stage
I'm confused, I was probably weids biggest critic and I thought he was overrated as **** early. Then he played a ripper finals series. Then he's gone flat again but he was playing a unique role for us and he was contesting a decent amount of footy. Genuinely looks like we might delist him at seasons end at this rate

He doesn’t stick enough marks but he’s a natural forward, leads well and brings the ball to ground at almost every contest he gets to. Lacks the confidence to play his best football week in week out and will never be a star as a result but for a forward line as dysfunctional as ours he’s literally exactly what we’re missing role wise and honestly would probably be as good a stop gap as any on our list until we find a better solution. Significantly worse players than him have gotten extended stints before. Must be at odds with the coaches somehow because it just makes no sense to not give him a go when we’re otherwise so bad.

Tom McDonald seems to want to be everywhere but where the blokes are kicking it right now, Jackson isn't gonna impact at his age and strength and then it's nothing. You don't need a 60 goal a week FF in modern footy but you do need a bloke who can draw an intercept defender and who can bring the ball down to a predictable position

Yeah exactly. Just play blokes in the forward line who know where to go and have decent craft and get TMac out of Fritsch’s way. Weideman at least will drag his man up the ground. Pies have done v well without a big key forward which allows the gun mid sized forwards like Mihocek, Stephenson and De Goey to flourish.

Can definitely see a club like the Bombers being all over him if/when Daniher goes. Dodo will probably give us a 4th rounder and we'll have to give them back a packet of chips and a can of coke as well.

Re changes, would like the extended bench to be ANB, AVB, Hibberd and Kosi (but I doubt they'll go with that combo).

If Jones has as little an impact on the contest as he did against the Blues, then sadly there's no way he'll get to 300 games.

The average scores by a team from their defensive 50 is 8 points. Instead of putting good kicks and mids in the backline we should be putting them in the attacking end and leaving the defending to I don't know ... Defenders.

I'm keen on him regardless of Daniher. And don't be stupid, we'll probably give whatever compensation we get for Gleeson for him

Any other club offering 2x 1st Rounders and $3.4m/4 years at the trade table would demand a better player than Lever.

Our best footy was played when he was in rehab.

I was surprised.

While stats may look good, you need to actually watch the game and see his decision making an constantly bombing floaters down the throats of Barrass and McGovern in round 1 was unacceptable.

Also i was told due to his brothers death, he probably didn't come back in the best of nick (club fully understand and really supportive) hence why Rivers who got the gig as he turned up in super condition which forced the coaching staff to pick him.

And what an inspired pick that was.
Anyone know how Hibbo went in the weekend's praccy and how he's been during the week on the track? If Goodwin wanted to give him a wake up call... could he be back in so soon?

Weid is another player on our list who is mentally weak. Cares too much about what people think of him and crashes and burns for an extended period after one bad game. He's got talent but he's doesn't have the mentality to ever become a quality AFL player.
