What in the actual **** is Jlo doing? Look at your opponent muppet. There’s a gritty in and under Liberatore led midfield that will ground and pound our two best mids and our counter is to load up with a shitful WAFL flanker? heck off.
At what point do you, as a senior coach of a footy club, realise you know less than Bigfooty nuffies and should **** yourself off? Self awareness?

Dropping Ras but keeping Worner?

Mad Men Not Great Bob GIF

I gave JL the benefit of the doubt the first two times but Worner in again just confirms he has no clue.

If you are going to deliberately make us younger/less experienced it should be for a prodigal talent like Murphy Reid, or at least somebody worth investing in like Voss or Dudley, not a guy who’s in line to be delisted at the end of the season.

I think Neil is destined for the scrap heap. I like his hustle but his lack of footy IQ, awareness and poor disposal seems to have consigned him to the break glass in case of emergency pile.

I thought Banfield played quite well last week. His composure is good and he can be quite creative in transition. He needs to play further up the ground as he did last week. Having Reid and now Dudley in the forwards now makes this possible.

Worner, I think some opinions have been overly influenced by a couple of clangers (one that particularly egregious). Other than that I don't mind what he beings. I do think we are still playing too many defenders unless Worner is sub which is quite likely.

Voss is lucky but for all his appalling cat 5's he did impress with his leading and marking. Just needs to stop doing dumb things and improve his goal kicking (yes he may not be capable of either) but if can improve in these areas he's got some real attributes.

JOM deserves his place on form. He's got considerably more composure, game sense and better disposal/decision making than Erasmus unfortunately.
How dare you bring a rational post to the thread! :)

This board melting over Erasmus is so funny to me.

Bloke has been dead set average, and with Jaeger back in the team he's pushed forward again, where he is even more average.

It's like people don't actually watch football and just check stat sheets.

Edit just wanted to add the same people crying about Erasmus would 100% be the same people that were crying about Reidy not getting a game last season because he got a few hit outs in the WAFL 😂

Agree 100%. Erasmus has shown nothing to suggest he'll be a good AFL player.

Well scarily he might alreadyve.

The move of cooper Simpson to hbf was almost without doubt coined on here before I seen it anywhere else mentioned

Nek minnit Simpson to hbf in peel scratchies

Jom has not been good to start the year

Stats don't tell the full story, bloke was the main culprit in handballing to under pressure players

Or getting the ball and turning back into traffic

If he is getting it 30 times then we are getting caught up wherever that is on the field for atleast half of it, he better have a wing role or something this week

Agree, I never bought that stock. If JOM is one of our better players every week, we are a 10th or worse team.

That’s actually the most frustrating thing - Worner won’t be in line to be delisted at years end because JL favours him over others.

Meanwhile Erasmus will request a trade and we’ll get **** all and Aish will be delisted. In two years Fyfe and JOM are probably both retired and we’ll really need Erasmus on the list even if a future draftee is amazing. Aish is 29 and would be decent depth for 2-3 more seasons.

If you think we have no depth in say two years just remember these decisions and you’ll know what was at least some of the problem. Worner wouldn’t play another game under a decent coach.

Unfortunately I think JL does enough to stay coach but really the best thing for the club would be to **** him off ASAP and get in someone competent.

From missing one game and getting coaches votes the last time he played?
Snuff, hes the kinda guy if we want to be good we need to stop giving games to.

Especially given Erasmus did well in his role so keep giving him minutes.

JOM really needs to be the 2025 Tabs, solid clubman whom I like but whom exits end of the season

Anyway it’s terrible selections, as expected from a terrible coach, but the main thing I’ve learnt from these early rounds is our depth is very thin.

People have been touting our best team on paper but just a small handful of injuries and we are tossing up between Worner and Erasmus. While playing two first year players as it is. The drop off is evident.

I don't mind jom but he really needs to release the ball sooner. Stop pirouetting and getting wrapped up like a pretzel. Slows down our ball movement

Yes he likes to take on the tacklers like MJ. Doesn't look as bad as doesn't get caught holding the ball but too happy getting wrapped up

I would have dropped others for Ras but the goal is to win games and JOM has been one of our best the games he's played. Soz, we pick our best team to win and everything he's done suggests he's in the best team

Worner has shown more awareness & skill than Erasmus. He played very well in his only game last year before getting injured. He was named by Pearce I think as the player most likely to have a breakout year so he’s obviously rated internally. I’m giving him a few more looks before I rule a line through him.

Erasmus is a good WAFL player. He’s not going to magically develop all the attributes he lacks which are essential at the top level.

Anyway time will tell.

Cool, I remember when Fyfe named Tucker as the breakout player. It was laughable, just like Pearces prediction.

Worner played what, 2 good quarters in his career?

He's absolute trash, more than enough evidence

Such a conflicting thread for me to read.

Agree with many that JLo is a poor coach and we lose games at the selection table but Erasmus is probably my least favourite Freo player ever and I'm glad he was dropped.

The comparison between Erasmus and Blakely above is fair.

Brodie will asked to be traded no doubt.

All for JOM to have 4 years and Worner 2 coming off the Rookie List. Sometimes list management is wanting

Like I said, time will tell. I’m far from convinced but I’ve seen something.

I can’t say the same about Erasmus except his willingness to crack in.
Last week when he had Bolton free beside him running towards goal & instead of immediately giving it turned his head back forward & ran into a tackle for a turnover was when he broke me.
