You and me both, and I'm starting to have some serious doubts about Milera ever being the player some seem to think he can be. I've seen Milera being touted as the "next" McLeod on this board even.....I'm not seeing it. For whatever reason he's become very timid at the contest and is too easily brushed off by the opposition, just showing no intensity or urgency at all.
I'm feeling a bit of this (see my thread) but also think the next run of games could be good for him. Both the young guys - SPP and Milera were found out a bit last night. Essendon, GC etc are more the type of opposition where he can show some stuff.

But someone needs to tell him to go for it - take them on, sell the candy, run!!!

Seems obvious, Out: McGovern, In: Menzel.

However what if Jenkins is fit? Jenkins does not harass and forward press like McGovern, so if we replace Gov with Jenkins we will be top heavy. Otten played very well and has the past few weeks, would be tough to drop him but doesn't seem to be any other option:

If Jenkins is fit:
Out: McGovern, Otten. In: Menzel, Jenkins.

When are Cheney and Doedee expected back? Want a better kick to replace Kelly and provide more attacking off HBF.

Mackay: 2 good, 1 bad. If that ledger goes below even, he should be the first out based on the last 5 years.
Menzel in for McGovern
Jenkins in for Otten
Otten moves back and takes Kelly's role

Did you even watch the game?

Kelly had 16 disposals at 75% efficiency.

With the way the AFC manage changes, the only one they will make is the forced one. ie. Gov OUT.

They will NOT change this team. 400kay should be dropped after that effort, but wont. Mind you with Brouch maybe a 1-2 weeks away, he is dead man walking.

I would rather play Brouch over the next few "soft" games to get him AFL ready for the bigger challenges like against the Dogs etc.

Nor should he be.. wtf is with everyone calling for Kelly to be dropped.

Meanwhile a single goal and everyone has Mackay as a lock for our 22.

If it wasnt for those 3 goals he kicked last week, it wouldnt have surprised me if he went to kick the ball to the top of the goal square but by "accident" kicked a goal.:p

400kay is a LOCK for the AFC, but he shouldnt be. Pyke and Campo wont drop him until players like Brouch, Seed etc are ready to take over.

The worrying aspect is that he has soft opponents coming up where he will produce a $1mkay effort and then be found wanting against tougher opposition.

Kelly wasn't dropped when poor against the Hawks, he is not getting dropped after playing well.
Not saying he is playing bad, changes need to be made due to injury.

I think Otten would be a better option down back than Kelly, same as I ruins Jenkins is a better option as the second ruck as opposed to Otten.

I think a lot of us are waiting to see what happens today. I think there are up to 4 players today who can make a case for a game next week. One of those spots will be Mackays.

Though Mackay may have points in the bank as our consistent goal kicker :D

Too slow down back

Kelly is a small defender, Otten is a tall defender. How can you even make the statement you have?

I believe Otten has the versatility to play anywhere, especially against an Essendon side who will likely play tall.

Lever better for the run?

Or rushed back and needs more time in the seconds?

Kelly or Otten?

I think Otten's lack of pace is overrated

Last night Kelly did a fair bit of work on the member's wing. Otten due to size and pace is too easy for a mid to small forward to evade. Kelly was able to chase or make a good attempt to stop/slow the evading player. Otten, for all his good traits, does not have this in his game. Completely different players for completely different roles.

I actually think Otten in ruck is a better option than JJ

Pyke loves Ottens and singles him out more than any other player. I think the commitment, the footy smart and his versatility will keep him in the team until the form runs out.

Surely JJ for the Gov.

Otten stays more permanently in the forward line. He can play the Govs role. You're kidding yourself if you think McGovern is massively faster than Otten. Otten might actually kick accurately for goal, too.

Milera, Mackay and Kelly all on shaky ground.

Frankly, I'd like to see Wigg for one of those outside mids.

Nearly responded to the Gov v Otto speed statement, but I've realised this is just dry humour. Noboy who actually watches our games could possibly think that. I bet you reeled a few others in though.
