Keep getting games into Bailey if fit, rest Hodge this week bring in Bundy we have Tippenwuti and Fantasia to deal with.
Completely agree, we will need some extra pace down back against the bombers. Keep hodge fresh for the pies. Give bailey a role on one of those players mentioned and let him know thats all he has to do. He can tackle, he just takes the wrong option at times.

A few players looked a bit cooked last night . Rayner ,Andrews , Hodge, Bailey ,Lyons who didn't do much amongst others. It was a fantastic effort to win in the circumstances. Hard games can take their toll.

I think we need a bit of a freshen in some areas , Christensen and Cutler are good players who should find their way in this week

Given how heavy the conditions were in NT last night, I dare say some of those boys won’t be so fresh but get your point.

I would have the following changes if needed:
Bailey > Bundy
Hodge (if needs a rest) > Lester (is basically like for like)

Basti is the only other maybe change as has not had a lot of touches despite the playing a team role. Cutler is maybe an option there but not sure he can play the disciplined role we need there. NRobbo not sure if he is fit yet

That’s a little bit of an ass kicking for a 4 time Premiership and 3 time Premiership Captain (possibly one of the best AFL captains ever) and 320 odd game player in Luke Hodge!

In quality yeah fair way apart but in what role they play and style they are similar

Sooner or later we’re going to have give Answerth, Cox and at least one of our young mids, a game or run of games.

We have a little tried and trusted depth in Christensen, Robertson, Cutler, Taylor and Lester. But none of them, apart from maybe Robertson, can roll through the midfield.

They'll get games when they've earned it. It's up to them to show they can improve our senior team by getting a game. It won't be easy the way we're playing though.

No more gifting games to kids because there's nobody else

I actually thought Hodge looked good😕
If someone bangs down the door for a game, by all means play them, but I don’t really think that’s happened yet.
I’d go unchanged barring any forced changes with injuries/suspension.

Dont think it matters. Pretty sure we will lose. Collingwood are on another level to us
Have you been watching us at all? Now look we still have a long way to go. We beat the reigning prems and 2 teams widely tipped for the 8. We should fear no one now. Respect is another thing. Collingwood is a damn good team. But we have beaten damn good teams.

Outs. Bailey (seen him icing the hamstring late in the last) Hodge.

Ins. Cutler Christenson.

Perfect game to rest hodge. Short turn around for the pies. Hodge doesnt need any more game time on the G. Cutler kicked 4 in the Neafl. Christo had a good game aswell.

I like the idea of resting HODGE, 5 day turnaround after Bombers.

OUT : Bailey, Basti and Hodge
IN : Bundy, Cuts, Cox.

I don't get the queries over Rayner or the calls for Hodge to get a "rest"

Rayner at this point of his development, is never going to be a 20+ possession, 10 tackle high endurance beast. Yet he consistently bobs up with one or two goals a match. I think he's 5.5 for the season to date. 10 shots at goal ain't bad for a high half forward who has to share the spoils with Charlie and Linc when they are firing or the three talls when they are on the job.

Now Hodge....... IMO the old bugger's contribution is still close to invaluable. He rarely makes a mistake by hand or by foot, organizes the backline brilliantly and is still capable of playing man on man with dangerous half forwards like Zeibell.

I don't give a stuff about his self-effacing "I hope the team is going well enough for me to be dropped" statement. As far as I'm concerned, we want to win as many games as possible in the here and now .

He's still a huge asset and if he's fit,he plays.

Too many changes to a winning formula.

Bailey had an absolute nightmare against Port and having scrutinized his game by watching the the replay, he actually looked really slow and indecisive. It seems there are queries over his fitness.

Bring in Bundy for Zac (as close to like for like and plenty of big match experience) and leave the rest of the team alone.

EDIT: Or Cutts or NRobbo........

The match committee would know which one of those three possible replacements fits the bill against the Bombers much better then I would but whatever, I think Zac is an obvious out

If Hodge plays then he will match up on the likes of Tipungwati and Adam Saad, Essendon have some lively small forwards who will expose Hodges lack of speed, things could get ugly, therfore better to rest him and give someone like Cutler a run.

Hodge is a pure footballer and makes up for his "lack of speed" with his experience and footy smarts.

Zeibell is a damn good forward and I had real concerns about Hodge being matched up on him in the MN game.

Yet, apart from one chaos ball out of a centre clearance from which Zeibell got a chest mark, Hodge kept him quiet and at least broke even for the rest of the game.

We are going great but we are not yet in a position to start "managing" players. If we get to 10-2 or 11-3 with a reasonably healthy list then maybe we could reconsider our options.

Until then, it's all hands on deck IMO

Do you expect Hodge to play 22 games this year even though Fagan and Hodge have said he’ll need to be rested?
