I know, I'm just trying to squint my eyes, put a filter on it and maybe, see, what pumps out the other end as maybe the method in which Essendon could win.

It could be that they maybe somehow get 2 goals out of the middle when Parish overwhelms ... putting West into the middle or something, because we want West to replace the Libba scrapper role?

I suppose it's 46 humans kicking around a ball of air, so things like physics still apply. And yes, I'd love to see West spend some time in the centre square this week, although, equally I'd also love to see him kick a bag. He's due.

Football in uncertain, life is uncertain. Every single one of our 23 players could get a bad's night sleep before being stressed out via a car crash through no fault of their own, while each of the Essendon's 23 players could get a good night's sleep and have found moral clarity through happening upon some insightful religious text at some stage this week.

anyone else get an email to reserve a seat even though they have a membership?

Will I barred from finding a seat in the GA areas? im so confused?

You should be fine to get in with GA. I think they are just trying to upsell you to a reserved seat as they are expecting a big crowd, so you'd only have a problem if it's a full house which I can't see happening.

If anything, it's not even an upsell in the sense of trying to get more money. It's if anything a reminder that "if you're used to watching the Dogs with a whole row to yourself, and you don't want some opposition fan squeezing next to you and yelling in your ear (that they have a right to do), here's a reminder that you can pay money to avoid that"

Is it possible with Essendon driving off a cliff and continuing down to the earths core. That the Bulldog faithful will outnumber the Planes Fans this week?

It’s actually scary how well we are going & Darcy still has a few levels to go, he is literally warming up.
West has been doing some good things but has kicked 1 goal. Lots of upside for our scoring which is already really good.

I have a feeling he has a sus shoulder. got an op at the end of last season, went crazy in the preseason, hurt a shoulder in the state game, and just hasnt had that commanding presence since then. Long arms are great but long levers generate a lot of force.

Scott knows about it too (state game coach) watch the geelong defenders test it when we play them.

Yeah he definitely doesn’t seem 100%, has hardly pulled down a contested mark across the three games so far. When he dominated in that stat last year. Of course defenders have gone to work on how to position themselves against him but I do think he is playing with a niggle.

Whilst unlikely that is...possible I guess...

In cricketing terms, Essendon are 5/12 chasing 350+
Yes, but the Libba injury is the equivalent of your star slips fielder feeling a bit sore, so they've moved to mid-off

My biggest worry - if there is any - is that with Libba out, no-one really obvious that plays his style of role (with Garcia injured, who we might have played if he was fit), and with Parish fit and potentially finding his past elite form, that Essendon sort of maybe have a chance of overwhelming us in our midfield, if you squint a little of the match ups that might take place when English/Bont/Richards are on the bench.

It is something, I suppose
In the nicest way possible wtf did I just read

They all wanted Parish dropped after R1 and he’s been just as shit in the next 2 games

They have nothing at all I am worried about

This reeks of ‘danger game’. Everyone is expecting us to win by 100+ points but these are the type of matches that could turn into a grind ala Brisbane v Essendon last season and Norf v Brisbane in 2024. Let’s just continue to play well, get the W and then move on. I’ve been a Dogs supporter for too long to count this as a ‘gimme’.
In the last 21 games the club has played, 9 of those have been wins by over 70 points. After this week you'll have a seasons worth of footy where you're basically a 50/50 chance of seeing a 70+ point win.

even if our mids overwhelmed yours, which would be a monumental turnaround given the last 10 months, we have zero offense, especially now Caddy is out, and a diabolical backline. You could have 1/3rd our inside 50's and still win by over 10 goals

This may seem like a dumb question, but given the bookies have us as 72 point favourites.

Say we underperform/you underperform by 5-8 goals, that the margin is something like 25-50 points, instead of 72. Therefore, you as a team will overperform relative to expectations. Where to you see that possibility arising from? Which players might play well for Essendon that means the Dogs "only" win by 40 points and not 70?

I really like how Darcy/Westy are still competing even though they are not getting scores on the board.

Kako may kick a few, as may Wright if he plays around the 50 arc, especially given his accuracy at goal from limited opportunities. Other than that I just dont see who can score for us. Defense-wise, Reid played quite well last year after stringing some games together, then suffered his usual season-ending injury. He has played poorly this year, but at least he has been on the park. Now he has 3 games in a row he may play ok on Darcy if he finds some form. But McKay has been stinking it up (again) so I cant see how we stop both Norton and Darcy.

The only way you dont win this by 100pts is if you're either resting players on the bench or trying new strategies

They're are about 400 AFL listed players I worry about more than Parish. One way runner.
