My favourite part about us being decent is I never check the fixture anymore. It doesn't matter.
Don't have to look ahead to the winnable games, genuinely learnt we were playing port during the Bombers game. No idea what's after that.

This is true. Really 'week at a time' stuff. Footy media is super boring though. Last year we were constantly being talked about, all the positivity about us and the analysis of why our game was working. Now the footy review shows are just 'Dees won again BUT HOW ABOUT THEM BLUES????"

Yeah haha we've reached that stage where everyone just ticks off mentioning we won and then onto Collingwood and Carlton. I forgot how much time those 2 clubs would take up if they were good together.

Brown and Lever available.

Brown should come in for McDonald (but who knows), and Lever will be for either Tommo, Smith or Hunt, depending on how they want to structure up.

I'd personally drop Hunt, leaving May -> Georgiades, Tommo -> Marshall, Smith -> Finlayson (if he plays, they may go a second ruckman in Hayes instead). Either way, Smith's flexibility is handy, and allows Lever to play his intercept role properly.

This week is the Womens AFLW Grand Final.

As it happens, both D's teams will be in Adelaide. Our men to play Port Power, and the 'D' girls, in they're inaugural Grand Final appearance.

I'd just like to think that the mens team will be selfless enough, following they're Thursday night game, to stopover in Adelaide, in support of our girls huge contest against the Crow girls, next Saturday. Our men's team has a 9 day break, between the Port game and our next Rnd match.

The girls are up against it, out of state, and in hostile territory. They need all the support we can show them.

You must have danster on ignore also. Change thread is already created mate.

I dont understand the Brown hasn't been round the group so he might get the week off theory.

Its not like hes had covid or hasn't trained in a month, hell be fine.

OUT hunt and smith

Not really sure how you see that structuring up. It will be Tomo/Smith for Lever and Weid/Tmac for Brown.

I would be happy to drop Hunt for Lever and have Smith play Hunt's role but Smith is more effective against a tall. After last week Hunt was on thin ice but saved his spot by playing above his average and having two effective disposals.

I expect we're stuck with Hunt until Hibberd's fit unfortunately.

Brown won’t play if he tested positive on Friday, his seven days of isolation won’t be over.
Didn't test positive - was a close contact who notified on Thursday, so he'll be out on game day. Whether they fly him over on the day or not is another thing

Hmm. He’d be stiff to miss in that case, Weid might have to go back to the VFL and earn his spot again or wait for another opportunity.

Part of me thinks you have to play Weid again, he might never go into another AFL game again with this much confidence I think we need to capitalize on it.
It’s a pretty tough call, but I’d pick him again. Reward his for attitude and effort and shows the non-flag winners that it isn’t just talk that they will help drive the group this year.

Problem is, if Brown comes in Weid is 2nd/3rd banana like he was last year when he didn’t look much good. Will get less looks and might get stuck deep in pockets.

Flip side is yes, Port are out of sorts but are still a really good team. Do you risk a Weid flop game taking on Port in Port?

Lots of selection problems for the Coaching group that is so brilliant.

With Lever coming in that
I don't think it's a tough call weid gets another go. Tmac is the one under pressure imo.

Weid produced what was required, whilst McDonald offers great flexibility in that he can play both back and forward he is not offering more than that at this point. For me Weid needs to stay in. Assuming Brown comes in (in that it is just a logistical nightmare to get him over there and be ready to go)

Lever will come in for Tomlinson I would suggest.

I would be surprised if there are any other changes.

Yes I agree tmac was pretty handy when he was required to go back in round 1, but as a forward he's very down. Tomlinson is way off from his form from last year, needs a few weeks in the vfl.

It’s very difficult to imagine Weid and BBB playing in the same side given what they fail to offer outside of (potentially) taking marks and kicking goals. Not an issue on days they’re both firing and the forward 50 entries are good, but obviously there’s not a lot of evidence of days like that occurring. I think TMac would have to really be out of form to be dropped for a Weid/BBB combo.
