Wonder if Knobel kicking himself over on the Goldy

Could have already racked up a handful of games if he stayed , maybe he was shitty at being behind a log like Reidy on the depth chart

Kicking a few goals in the VFL too apparently
Blame the list manager. Reidy is clearly not it. Now he ll be delisted probably

Demons have a few injuries to consider, Kozzie not in full training, May impacted by a heel plantar face ieits and Lever out for another two months.

A good challenge for us, except Van Rooyeeeeeen will probably bob up for 9 goals or Ed Langdon kicks 5 and Spargo kicks 6. Melbourne at the G always come up with some weird stuff against us.

Wasn't his choice mate, he was training at the club when GC surprise picked him from nowhere (was eating lunch with the boys)

If Freo want Knobel back they can get him for nothing as an unrestricted free agent. Just guarantee him a primary list spot and get assurances from him that he won't sign any deal in front of him from GC and he will come back as soon as free agency opens.

GC might even get a pick from it.

I’m in the JLo camp of not messing with structure so for me it’s a tall in for Voss rather than moving Cox or Draper forward. I also think both Cox and Draper are playing well in defence.

Reidy / McDonald are the only options. For mine I think McDonald is the better fit. Bit of age/experience won’t do us any harm and with lever out and May maybe hobbled he might outsize his opponent and bob up for a few.

Treacy can take a few stoppages as ruck in forward line and Draper same in defence.

Out: Voss, Worner and Banfield

In: Simpson, Aish and Narkle

FB: Ryan Pearce Simpson
HB: Clark Draper Chapman
C: Sharp Young O'Meara
HF: Bolton Cox Switkowski
FF: Amiss Treacy Frederick

R: Darcy Serong Brayshaw

I: Johnson Dudley Reid Aish

S: Narkle

Yeah, I've stamped some papers for my make believe teams.

Could we play Narkle?
I hope so. Young can play as the third tall forward. Narkle in my opinion has been terrific at WAFL for a player coming off an injury and he has good skills. We could also basically play Bolton as our deepest forward for periods in games s he can obviously player taller with his ability to take high marks.

Yes but it should never have been an issue if we rookied Reidy instead of Knobel.

Tall defenders are important against Adelaide. If there are any injury concerns for Cox or Ryan, both of whom looked a little proppy, MacDonald is an interesting inclusion as a swing man.

MacDonald hangs around forward, then does a bit of 2nd ruck. If needed, he drops back into defence, but in reality Melbourne doesn't have the talls to necessitate that.

Wagner into defence, and we run baby run!
Macdonald isnt a swing man and way off afl standard currently judging by his wafl form which has been terrible in 2025 in the two fixtures in my opinion.

I don't ming Young playing a game mostly forward as the third tall. Draper can ruck for brief periods and we can bring Wagner into the team for Voss with Wagner playing the sub and Dudley coming into the 22 with Cox to spend some time forward if Cyclones rucking. Personally id bring in Narkle over Wagner (so swapping a forward for a forward) as I think he's a class above our other WAFL players with his ball use but I cant see JL doing that. Banfield can also play the third tall role when Young's midfield.

Macdonald is miles off being in contention for a spot. He got obliterated when forward on the weekend so a WAFL standard player. destroyed him.

Yeah sorry. Lachy Reid is not a source of valid information on Freo.Ask anyone who watched Peel on the weekend. Oscar's stats represented accurately the standard of his play and he had 6 disposals and kicked one point playing mostly as a forward. He was woeful.
I’m not a member of the Oscar
McDonald fan club (nor do I give a shit about Lachy reid). Just think his selection makes sense. I watched peel, and the week before. McDonald was the least bad of the tall forwards (riddle being comfortably the worst). Was a dirty day for peel as you would know. Form is one thing anyway - McDonald can play afl footy.

I don’t think a treacy and amiss two pronged forward line works - Darcy will rest big minutes in the bench and not forward. The other options are Reid (not a fan) and Davies (not a forward), or swinging forward an established defender. I personally don’t like that and prefer to play a dependable citizen in McDonald.

Don’t see the point in replacing Vossy with another tall v Melbourne, they have no tall forwards so we can shuffle Cox/Draper forward and play another running player. Give Coops a run.

Assuming everyone else is fit I’d go
Out: Voss, In: Simpson.
Omac probably has to play v Adelaide if Jackson isn’t back, but horses for courses so go smaller this week.
