I don’t mind omac in, main thing is he needs to compete in the ruck to stop the oppo getting too many hitouts to advantage, and bring the ball to ground up forward.

If he does that, it’s enough.

He’s our third level of depth for the role after Jackson and Voss, and probably playing for his career. Keen to see what he can bring.

Clearly we need an alternative to Darcy and Jackson.

Voss has been enthusiastic, and has been filling the role of alternative. Very enthusiastic.

As is the Fremantle way, we now need an alternative to the alternative.

MacDonald has a 3 week audition, and I think this is the perfect opportunity for him. It's a good thing to find out at this time of year.

I'm with Sherrif on this one, McDonald looked extremely average for Peel. I hope it's someone else forward
The West Australian article talks about OMac being rewarded for embracing Ruck/Forward role. I watched both proper WAFL games this year and had a friend at the final PS game vs Subiaco. Not once has OMac contested the ruck.

He played forward against Subiaco and kicked 2 goals. He played back against Claremont. He played forward against Souths. His best game was against Claremont. Not a single ruck knock out and no ruck contests so I don’t know what games the West Australian have been watching.

Definitely a swing man which is a good versatility for OMac to have if he wants some opportunity this year. When you consider he is behind Voss and Sturt (when fit) up forward and behind Draper and Davies down back.

I don’t have an issue with OMac being selected but for mine I’d play him as a defender. He is a solid lock down defender. I’d release Draper for a game up forward and I liked what he did in the ruck late against Richmond. I’m not sure why we need to be so tall and could have gotten away with a smaller side this week but whatever JLo is sticking to structure.

he does seem ok at lower level WAFL so he has some talent. seems to get overwhelmed in the big time.

we desperately need two ruckman

Whilst luke is great around the ground he isnt a great ruckmen

refer to Geelong game again when he lost the ruck agaisnt patrick dangerfield

would prefer to see Luke rotating from forward line to onballer. maybe only ruck in forward line and let darcy rest a bit by not needing to run into forwrd 50
Jackson isn't a great ruckman? What? Sure he struggles against the big beasts but he's a pretty amazing ruckman against good match ups. Likely the best follow up ruck in the comp.

Jackson's best roll is coming on as second ruck and dominating the opposition second ruck.

People suggesting sending Cox forward is frustrating. You ruin the cohesion of the back six and we are already playing an injured Ryan.

He has finally got himself into form in the backline. We had the opportunity to select an in form Narkle who works with the forward and mids yet we chose Oscer M who is a backmen who did nothing at all in his game against Souths.

Mate we needed a ruckman. Narkle isn't one. One of our key defenders (either cox or draper) will be playing as the 2nd ruck, and OMac will be filling their spot.

Yeah I get that. I just watched wafl and OMac struggled so i can't justify his selection.

I feel Narkle on form would add some attacking venom connecting between the mids n forwards

Don't think Omac will play. At Captain Run he didn't touch a ball. Just walked around not looking exactly like he was loving life.

Aish and Erasmus both out and about. Suspect Aish comes in.

Don’t think JL expected both Fritsch & JVR out at Melbourne selection, wouldn’t surprise me if that changes things with OMac and a smaller player comes in to replace him (Aish or Ras as you mentioned).

I think you are right. He didn't look too happy but i got more the sense he was injured or not well. Surely he'd still do the Captains run as he was there? Jackson was there and very active

Ok if you say so

Doesn’t explain why he couldn’t beat Dangerfield in the ruck . Bad day maybe. ?

Yeah, still think Omac slots in defense rather than forward

He hasn't rucked at all, Draper atleast did it last week

Even if Melbourne show up and we see 2021-2022 era Petracca/Oliver/Viney/Gawn it's still hard to see them kicking a winning score with that fwdline. The height mismatch is crazy, they're really going to have to embrace the chaos ball otherwise our blokes might set a record for intercept marks.
See you say that, but then Petracca comes out and kicks 5 or something stupid

May is out with a groin strain says Tom Morris.

Ooo boy. We are too tall now so wonder if they’ll be a late change
Signs all pointing towards a very Dockery loss coming up 😭
