Ditto.

Lade was on AW pre game and the question was put re Tuck. Sorry Tucky, you will only play a couple more games.

Out - Tuck
In - Jackson.

That’s life.

What did Ladey say exactly Bazz?

out: tuck(ribs)

In: Jackson

No one did bad enough to be cut! Even edwards is showing alot better use of the footy last week and this week.

Question was put to him, re what all fans and some media want to know, why isn’t he in our best 22.

Lade, without hesitation said we already have an abundance of “quality” hard inside players and Tucky when he comes in will do a job.

But the telling part was he said “when Shane comes in on and off through ought the year he will serve a purpose” (paraphrasing)

100% clear indication he will not be part of our team. I reckon you could take it to the bank, Jackson In, Tuck Out.

What will happen:
Out: Tuck (inj.)
In: Jackson

What I would like to happen:
Out: Tuck (inj.) McGuane (omitted)
In: Jackson, Astbury

McGuane is a dumb footballer! Over-commits to contests, plays the man, gives away silly free kicks, holds onto the ball too long and is not the best disposer of the pill. Send him a message!

silly. nason is working his way into the side now, runs and kicks goals. need the pace vs freo.

McGuane, doubt it. did he make soem serious errors? wasnt listening all game. thursfield is injured dont know how seriosuly though. moore is still injured too :(

Think they'd want astbury to have a few more in the 2's before comming back.

Graham would have to be injured, dont think browne could do as well as vickery up forward, but I would like to see how he goes all the same. so i agree here.

Nason showed no sign of improvement from last week. He was soft all night and provided no forward pressure (his main roles). I'd rather see morts or webberly have a go on that wing.

Mcguane is a liability. It's that simple. Astbury must come in if will is injured.

hit the nail on the head, mcguane would have to be one of the most stupid footballers ive ever seen at the club, atleast rance is improving and showing he is learning about positioning, timing and decision making. mcguane has gone backwards and i cant wait for either astbury/moore/gourdis to put their hand up for a spot in the team.

Agree on both to a large degree d7, Nason ran around pretty much by himself for 3/4 of a game for not much impact with his 12 disposals, not much impact on contests with just the one tackle, and to me, it's hard to laud his scoreboard impact when he's kicking for goal at 50% efficiency while getting the luxury of playing on nobody. Time to look at some others if their form has justified it.

McGuane probably should probably go on form, ATM (and I include Grimes, Astbury and Gourdis here) he's our worst rebounding ball user down back, quite probably our worst runner, and IMO it's tough to make a case that he's been solid enough defensively to be retained solely on that basis ahead of kids who offer a wider skill set and more upside from their game time.

With his experience and natural attributes he should be a rock in defense for us by now, but in all honesty, he's no closer to becoming that player than he was a couple of years back. Arguably, he's gone backwards making the same mistakes he always has.

Agree with this.

Nason got subbed on pretty early and did nothing until late on in the game when the ball bounced his way a couple of times. Till that point on top of that couple niggles/injuries we had it felt to me like we were another player down because of him. Same as last week. He got exposed physically too. He only got recorded with one tackle because they don't stick, just gets shrugged off. Opponents also burn him off because he has no pace. Unlike someone like a Nahas who is able to put good pressure on, Nason can't.

A small, slightly framed gut runner who doesn't rack it up with huge numbers and needs the ball to fall his way off a pack to crumb a goal (won't be taking many contested marks). With King and White, etc already in the side he's not that valuable I think we can do better and I hope he's dropped. Probably won't be though given everyone is caught up in the win. Tuck probably only likely change because of injury.

Yep, well put Barnzy, and these are the real killers for him IMO along with the disposal.

Damaging by foot or hand
Hard running ball magnet
Fast line breaker
Strong contested ball winner

^^The four key categories for small running players, ideally they have at least two of the four going for them, IMO it's impossible to give Nason a tick in any one of these categories and I'm not sure he can turn that around in the future given how far away he is in three of the four.

Having said that, sheer hard work is winning me over on Nahas when I rated him a pretty slim chance, so anything is possible, but as you say, Nahas is starting with much more in the way of natural attributes.

I reckon he'll be out for the ribs/muscle Baz, he looked in agony when it happened, so maybe a cracked rib or two or a torn muscle will keep him out for a couple of weeks minimum.

All I've got to say about the coaching staff's ****ed up attitude to Tuck is that I hope they noticed him giving Black a bath tonight, would they leave Black out because he's too old? The moment Tuck went off Black started dominating the centre and Brisbane got on top of us, meaning we had to rotate players we needed in other roles onto Black to try and restrict his influence.

Tuck's played two and a bit quarters for way more return than most blokes are giving us over a full game - the two quarters he's been in the centre this year we've smashed the opposition at the clearances and it's just a disgrace that they're messing around with him and not just playing him on merit.

Is Tucky definitely out for next week? Gee it was good having him in the guts again. Poor guy looked miserable at half time.

I'm with the masses here, really disliking Edwards and Graham's position in our team, especially Edwards he is no good.

Would like to see
OUT: Edwards Graham Tuck (if need be)
IN: Connors Morton Browne

Mc Guane is pretty ordinary but until Moore is back I think he needs to be in the side.

The only way Mcguane will get dropped is when Moore is ready otherwise he will be in the side, young david is having second year blues and the number 12 is weighing heavy.

Out: Tuck(inj), McGuane, Graham, Edwards
In: Jackson, Astbury/Thursfield, Browne, Webberly

I really want to see Webberly in the side...

If I it was up to me I'd make these changes:

In:Post, Browne, Webberley, Jackson
Out:Miller, Graham, Edwards, Grigg

Do you want to have Miller making up numbers up forward and just there for 1 percenters or do you want Post offering a 3rd exciting tall? Pretty simple answer. As for Grigg, his kicking was very disappointing last night.

Was pretty average. His 2 kicks for goal were pretty bad. Post is a much more exciting option

Buddy, his goalkicking agreed was poor, his contribution outside that was immense! Will state it for the third week in a row, we are far better structured and productive side with Miller there!
