I think people are jumping at shadows.
Sure coming out breathing fire and tackling and pressuring like maniacs will help you win games, but eventually you still have to back it up with talent at some point.
Their list is weaker and they have important injuries, apart from their half backs we have more talent on every line.

Melbourne have substantially more talent than St Kilda, they had just been moping about like pillocks the first few rounds and got motivated to play us, plus we were off that day.
That's different from a team "bringing the heat" but not having the talent to see it out. See the Richmond game for example, their effort based play saw them match us for a half but not the whole game.
As long as we actually turn up to play, I don't care how much Ross has the saints breathing fire, we should win

The problem under JL has always been consistency. We’re good for a spell, drop off, get beaten by a lesser, more hungry side, JL reminds them to play with more aggression, we’re good for a spell. Rinse and repeat. We’ll see in a month.

Yes. We’re still prone to losing the games that we shouldn’t. Has cost us finals the last two season. I agree we probably won’t make top four. We’re anywhere from 6th to 12th

I'm the same in terms of making finals. Top 4 i thunk is really far from set though. It's a strange season, pretty much every team has dropped games they should have won already. I reckon at least 2nd-4th will still be open going into the last round

I think we'll finish top 4 provided we get a decent run with injuries. I know Im in the minority but I can see us finishing the year strongly as our end of the season draw would appear easier than last season by a fair margin. We also have a lot of players building fitness and plenty of improvment in them. Notably Darcy, Young, Switta, Bolton (to a degree) and with Dogga coming back this week and NOD two weeks later we could have a good run with injury potentially.

This is the sort of game Freo loses, so beware.
Odds are close to, even though Freo are slight faves.

People said exactly the same thing about the Dees and it's not like the talent on their list was a surprise. You know as well as any of us that we have ability to win this game by 100 points or absolutely shit the bed. I think winning is more likely given that should be the goal but this is 100% a danger game. Good test to see whether we've settled the group a bit.
