No - I've gotten carried after away after 5 seasons of mediocrity under Longmuir... I hope it changes, but I'm not in the mood to be patient with him any longer.

All the fawning over Longmuir from the media off the back of one win is a bit ridiculous.
4 seasons, 2022 was good. It was our 5th best season ever.

That's great that your impatient, it seems to bring the best out of teams when their own supporters are baying for blood all the time. When we succeed, you can know that you tried your best to sabotage us but at least you still get to celebrate with the rest of us.

This freo team and list is genuinely different to all previous years.

For the first time - perhaps ever - we have a truly balanced list.

Perhaps more importantly, we have a culture that is rapidly transitioning to a “winning” one. All we need is a consistent one and flagmantle is a happening thing!

We have genuine depth across almost every position - when was the last time we could claim this? The concept of omac coming in for voss who was covering darcy then jackson is mindblowing to us long term freo supporters!

And we have genuinely elite players - who have already stepped up to this level at a ridiculously young age - darcy, javkson, treacy, bolton (i so want to type amiss but not just yet), brayshaw, young, serong, clarke, pierce, ryan and cox all have been elite previously and are showing strong indications of playing at this level this season.

Then there are the young guns coming thru…

So i know it sounds crazy, but if this team gets on a roll, and barring injuries, i now believe we can honestly finish on top of the table this season.

This weekend’s game will be the test though - can we / do we dominate like we did last weekend? Or do we go back to “which freo will turn up today?”

I hope for our sake, and the players’ sakes, we start to build momentum and become the premiership team we are capable of!
Interestingly, we were 4-3 with a similar percentage this time last year. Before we imploded with 13 quarters left to play, we were tracking for top 4.

Agree that we've the sharpest tools in the kit that we've ever had.

But knowing how to use em to best effect is a different thing. I think we're going to revert to always winning home games/always losing away. But we need the away wins if we care about winning finals.

Good upgrade.

Still a little bit off full strength - at least a few of NOD, JOM, Walters, Walker and maybe Fyfe missing.

And least experienced team again this week - only 79 games avg with 2 players over 150 experience.

Phillipou is back for the Saints. Seriously, seriously short forward line for them, they'll look to play fast and expose our speed.

Midfield needs to play well and apply pressure, force them to bomb it in to our talls

Exactly what Melbourne did too us. Went short and quick, and out run us

Yeah that was absolutely not the problem in the Melbourne game…

There were many problems.

The main ones were
1. We got smashed in the middle
2. Melbourne transitioned the ball too easily.
3. We were forced to kick long because we couldn't find an open man.
4. Draper, Ryan and co were too big slow to match up on Pickett and co.

2 and 3 were caused by being too slow.
Probably 4 as well.

1 was caused by Gawn
