Nah don't rest Darcy. He needs match fitness. Play both Jackson and Darcy. Wear down Marshall then sub Darcy late if we need to.
Best bet.
The game after this week’s is on Thursday. 6 day break with a flight back.
Darcy definitely will have to be managed, so does Jackson to build back strength.

Sucks for OMac, who has been very smart in how to play forward and ruck.

Could Fremantle rest Darcy for Collingwood on Thursday Night and unleash Voss?

Anyone not happy with Johnson's game and calling for him to be dropped might not want to see the coaches votes from last Friday.

Adelaide coach gave him 4 votes as one of Adelaide’s better players.

Coach Nicks had this to say ‘Johnson was one of the few mids who hit our players and kept us in it’

Interesting suggestion in the West today to rest Darcy this week.
Is Darcy plays Friday it’s his 4th game in 20 days off no preseason and he only gets 6 days off before the Pies.

If we back Jacko & Oscar to take care of the Saints who only have Marshall in the ruck, Darcy can freshen up and come hard at Collingwood & Darcy Cameron.

I actually like it.
For Marvel that makes sense. I don’t mind it either.

Ross has been very clever with his public bake of his players in particular subbing out of Garcia early on the weekend.

He knows St Kilda were never a chance of beating Brisbane but firing a rocket under his players last week would make sure they would be worked into a frenzy by this Friday and come out against Freo breathing fire against Freo which they would believe is a very winnable game.

You just know if we rested Darcy that RTB would be telling his boys “Look! They don’t even take us seriously!, who do they thinking they are” And we’d have egg on our face big time if it backfired

I recall we rested a ruckman named Sandi in 2014 for an away game against St Kilda.

We were on a 8 game winning streak and the Saints were last.

It think it ended up okay from memory.

I think the margin was around 10 goals.
Was that the day that Stanley started his amazing run of games against us?

I think so I haven't watched a second of it again.

That day was worse then the GF loss honestly i turned it off at 3rd qtr team in complete shock.

Dockery as they come

Premiership teams don't lose like that.
I was lucky that I didn't watch it live. I was working nights and was asleep during this game.

I woke up to a heap of messages giving me crap.

I think there was a scuffle between ruckman at the end with Zac Clarke and the St Kilda ruck. Not sure if it was Stanley but he pointed to the scoreboard.

It was the last game Anthony Morabito played for Fremantle. He'd gotten back for a few games, but they decided he needed more time in the WAFL where he did his knee for a 4th time.

I think the biggest mistake would be to focus too much on who the opposition is and too little on making sure we are doing the things that we need to do to win the game. We want to avoid making it a "Get back at Rory Lobb" game or a whomever is in the opposition game and just concentrate what we want to be good at. Who cares who the opposition coach is in relation to us; what we need to do is make sure we can maximize what we do well and retaliate against whatever they throw at us.

Also I am not saying it isn't an important game to win (they are all important to win), but this game is a massive opportunity game for us, not a massive danger game; it is not all over for us if we lose, but it is a big hit if we don't put in a good performance. It is like being 1 ahead on serve in a tennis game and we can take the set if we can break the opposition's serve. They have the home ground advantage serve and will come out rabid as they are close to losing massive ground, but we need to just concentrate on maximising what we can do with the opportunities given to us.

The Garcia spray was straight out of the RTB playbook.

Sacrifice one to save many.

They will be very fired up and it will be a physical game.

We need to bring the heat the same as the first qtr last Friday and maintain it.

I expect it to be a slogfest but if we are a serious team we need to prevail.

It appears a good week to bring heat early, and break there morale.

You don't want to drawn into a slog, when you have Collingwood the next week off a 6 day break.

I like the idea of Jackson and Darcy 50:50 in the ruck, Marshal is one of those in between rucks, he’s too mobile for Darcy but bigger than Jackson, need to wear him out over the course of the game.
Darcy can park himself at FF for 30% game time and Jackson can roam.

Forward pressure would drop, as they would always have one man free. I remember watching Alex Pearce run out Ben Brown, and it would be worse than that.

I wouldn't want to do it for more than 20% of a game.

If I’m a teammate of Garcia I’m pretty angry at that performance by my coach. Ok bring him off, but to give it to him for all to see is a terrible look & id be pissed if Longmuir did that to one of our young players for all to see.
Young players are not bought up in that type of environment anymore so we’ll see what impact it has on them.
Ross has been trying to reinvent himself as a modern coach but the cracks are showing & he was back to his prickly grumpy self in the media conference after the game. I hated that as a supporter.
How he handles the week will decide on what they bring because he may think the effort was down but their structures is what cost them the game. So far this year they’ve been really on or really off, it will interesting to see how they respond with his current mood.

It depends why it happened.

Erasmus was subbed out at half time vs Essendon. If it impacts the midfield battle, and he is not holding his defensive position and you have pulled him off and told him and he still ignores you.

Then, if you want to win the game you don't have a choice.
