Getting in early before the VFL game tomorrow, but will have a better idea within 12 hours of potential Ins.

My initial reaction is :

IN - Libba, Jones, Coffield, Croft

Out - Emmett, Hynes, Gardner + one more who picked up an injury we don't know about yet.

May be considered - Carmichael, Gallagher, VDM
On thin ice - West, Buku, Lewis and a rocket to Freijah to give us more.

Sounds like Tim might still not be ready next week which hurts, straight in if he is though (I would play him and Smith and they split the ruck a bit and let English give us another fwd target).

Arty should be ready to go and is a huge in.

I would be dropping one of Buku or Gardner and give Coffield a run, Buku has been poor last few weeks but maybe has one credit left from his good start to the year.

Emmett I still think will be a player in the future and showed some signs, but he can go back and #1 ruck for Footscray and keep building. Needs to work on his kicking too which looks very awkward.

Hynes i've been disappointed in and would rather play a VDM or Gags currently with his output.

If Croft has a good game on the 2s he will probably be needed back in, definitely if Naughty doesn't come up, but early signs with no concussion he may be ok to play.

Not sure what has happened to West, but even his usual desperation was missing tonight at times and his chase and physicality was missing which was concerning. Freijah looks low on confidence but back him in to improve on the last few weeks.

Kennedy was quiet tonight and have a pretty low TOG so not sure if he is carrying something but finished the game so hopefully better after an 8 day break.

In: Croft, Libba, Vandermeer
Out: Naughton, Davidson, Hynes

Not much left to do. I’d like Arty in for Hynes but not sure if we’d rush him straight back in with his hamstring history. VDM at least has a crack even if unskilled.

I think without Naughton we are really going to need to tinker with our set up. We need some class and goalkicking up forward otherwise we are relying on a bunch of kids, Will Lewis, and an out of form West.

The only 2 players I think could provide that are Bont and Dale.

In: Libba, Carmichael, Croft
Out: Naughton, Hynes, Khamis

FB: Williams, Busslinger, Selwood
HB: Jaques, Gardner, Bramble
C: Davidson, Libba, Sanders
HF: Baker, Bont, Dale
FF: West, Croft, Lewis
R: Smith, Kennedy, Richards
Int: Carmichael, Treloar, Freijah, Emmett, Dolan

Jesus that's grim. Really grim. 😔

West and Freijah are very lucky that we're out of options.
They have both been close to diabolical this season. Both players have always done a little too much with the ball but pulled it off enough that we can live with it.

It's a real shame because both were guys that we were looking to full into that fringe AA territory. Instead they've gone backwards.

Freijah needs a role change. The half forward role is incredibly difficult if you aren't a natural at it. Either allow him to play full time wing or position him at half back for a while to regain some confidence.

There's still scans to be done but Bevo was alluding to a strained neck without a concussion or structural damage.

Apparently he went straight home last night from the game and didn't even go to hospital.
Strained neck is promising. I wouldn't have him down as an out next week yet.

In: Croft VDM Libba
Out: Emmett Gardner Hynes

I'm hoping Naughts is right in a week. Sometimes neck strains can recover quickly.

Gardner is done. I'd play shorter in defence as our ball use is killing us there more than anything IMO. Williams to shift back to play as the 3rd tall.

Croft showed a bit last year as the 3nd banana forward, should have had first crack at that role before Emmett IMO.

Freijah to a wing, VDM to HFF.

Backs: Buss, Buku, Williams, Sellwood, Dale, Jacques, Bramble
Mids: Smith, Bont, Libba, Richards, Treloar, Kennedy, Baker, Freijah, Davidson
Fowards: Naughton, Lewis, Croft, West, VDM, Sanders, Dolan

Play shorter in defence against a team with 3 genuine talls and resting rucks who are also decent enough forwards is certainly a choice

It's going to be a massacre.

It would literally never happen but there's a part of me that wants to rest Bont, Richards, Naughton & Libba to get them completely right, take the huge loss and reset the following week at 4-4 with some winnable games.

If any of our injured guys are ready to come back they need to be straight in. Not sure how likely any of them are. Otherwise the next in are probably the big three McNeil, Vandermeer and Gallagher. That’s probably the order I’d have them in. Miracle that Naughton survived serious injury but I’d still be a little surprised if he is ready to go for next week

Hynes needs a VFL stint, has lost his mojo and needs to rediscover for. Gardner out for anyone, I can’t keep going through this charade. Coffield, Cleary, Walker for all I care, even Williams. It can’t worse, might be equally bad but at least it’s different

B: Coffield, Busslinger, Khamis
HB: Dale, Sellwood, Jaques

R: Smith, Sanders, Richards
C: Williams, Bont, Davidson

HF: Dolan, Freijah, McNeil
F: West, Croft, Lewis

I: Bramble, Kennedy, Treloar, Baker, Emmett

*If Naughton is ok he can replace Emmett, Jones can replace McNeil if he is right. Obviously Libba and English are certain returns but didn’t sound like they’d be ready

I can't watch any more of what we are dishing up at the moment.

IN: Coffield, Artie Jones (if fit), Vandermeer, Libba (if fit)

Out Gardner, Hynes, West (send a ****ing message) Treloar (can't break past a jog)

Freijah needs a wake up call, lucky due to injury he stays in. I'm basing this off Naughton playing

Edit: If Naughty no good we have to go Croft in
