If we dropped Freijah who do we chuck in the midfield, I think he needs a wake up call eg Jack Macrae in 2016 or 2015 when Bevo dropped him for a patch even Bailey Dale for parts of 2024 that his not all that at the moment. Seems his majorly drinking his own bathwater

There are alot that deserve to be sent a message but we dont have the troops to do it.

I think with Freijah the fall goes on Bevo again apparently was training the house down as a mid come pre season then was moved to the half forward role, now since Libba and a few have gone out has started as a mid again. I think he has started to believe a bit too much into his own hype but he should have been starting as a midfielder from opening round

Wouldn't be against the idea of moving Buku up forward again to actually give us another target to kick too, especially as Cleary and Coffield are not so woeful that there's a huge drop of there, when Khamis might actually offer something a bit more different and dyanmic in our forward line than Hynes and West both having fewer than 10 touches as forwards and not actually being that tall either.

I'd be dropping West before I'd be dropping Freijah. And like you said, we just don't have the troops to drop either.

West had 1 score involvement for the whole game.

Probably not something that happens but I think its time to move around some magnets. Can't really make anything worse at this point. Hopefully snap Freijah and Dale out of their funk with a position swap, let Bont direct traffic from the backline and go in with less hight up forward but hopefully more speed and a little bit more skill.

Out. Gardner, Naughton, Hynes
In. VDM, Carmichael, Jones

FB Sellwood Buss Williams
HB Freijah Khamis Bont
C Jaques Sanders Baker
HF Jones Emmett Dale
FF West Lewis Bramble
R Smith Richards Treloar
INT VDM Dolan Carmichael Kennedy Davidson

I've always been a massive Dale fan, even when he's coming up through the VFL but he would be in my gun aswell. It's pretty telling when Sellwood and Baker have been our most consistent performers.

Out: Gardner, Kennedy, Hynes, Lewis/Naughton
In: Coffield, Libba, Jones, English*

Gardner was useless. English might get up this week. It's a week by week situation for him. Kennedy is probably injured. Jones might get up. Libba will be back.

I rate the idea of Dale forward and Freijah back. Dale hasn’t been himself and could be a spark up front. Freijah just needs some confidence and to get back to basics.

I like backline Bont too, always thought he was more suited in defence rather than forward as a second position. Hodge role, put some experience back there.

Gardner just cannot play again. I’d rather go in with 0 key defenders.

West needs an enormous kick up the backside regardless of how thin we are.

IN: Libba, Arty, VDM, Cleary
OUT: Gardner, Hynes, West, Davidson

I'm struggling with the outs this week (surprisingly). I thought Davidson wasn't too bad. Butchered it a bit I know, but he ran really hard along the wings and tracked forward and back to help out a lot. When he was running to deliver, you look up field and there was not much there to go to.

Baker, Bramble, Kennedy deserve to stay in. I'm not sure we have enough talent available to swing the axe of a Friejah or West.

I think the ins, in order should be : Libba, Jones, Coffield, VDM who could all add something to this team, but my only sure outs are Gardner and Hynes so far.

The big drop off in form of Dale, West, Freijah and Kennedy is concerning.
Freijah and Kennedy have played a couple of good games
West no good games
Dale a couple of reasonable games
Ed's drop off is injury related an excused.

When we get back to near full strength we need a big lift from these guys but I afraid season will dead and buried by then.

If I was in charge of selection
Out: Gardner, Khamis, Emmett, Hynes, (all omitted), Naughton, Bontempelli (Injured)
In: Coffield, Cleary, Vandermeer, McNeil, L Kennedy, Liberatore.

Very tempted to bring Croft back in for Lewis but assuming Jordan is injured, I think it is worth giving Lewis another chance to step up and use his mature body. Also, could be convinced to play Gallagher or Carmichael potentially in front of L. Kennedy

Like last week, this week is about seeing who is able to stand up under AFL pressure.

Sellwood and Jaques have shown they can.

After making a howling mistake eerily similar to last year's shocker against Freo, Busslinger amazingly did enough to get another chance to show his wares. Coaching tip for Buss, learn to take the bloody
game on and kick it into the forward line yourself rather than handball to stationary teammates in a worse position than yourself.

Let's go with a smallish mobile forward line, continually rotating midfielders, possibly try a tag or two. Work hard, do your best, try not to be overawed.

Out: Naughton, Treloar
In: Croft, Gallagah

Treloar cant run or kick over 25m, rather see if Gags has a future or not. Triple rucks try to keep Smith as fresh as possible for the second half

I think without Naughton we are really going to need to tinker with our set up. We need some class and goalkicking up forward otherwise we are relying on a bunch of kids, Will Lewis, and an out of form West.

The only 2 players I think could provide that are Bont and Dale.

In: Libba, Carmichael, Croft
Out: Naughton, Hynes, Khamis

FB: Williams, Busslinger, Selwood
HB: Jaques, Gardner, Bramble
C: Davidson, Libba, Sanders
HF: Baker, Bont, Dale
FF: West, Croft, Lewis
R: Smith, Kennedy, Richards
Int: Carmichael, Treloar, Freijah, Emmett, Dolan
Did Croft do some time down back in the preseason?
Gardner can't be relied on, Buss Croft and Buku? Shuffling the magnets 🧲 Cupboard is bare

I think Naughton will play. With only Arty a possibility from injury and a banged Bont and Ed to play this is another unwinnable game.

I am unsure who gets dropped possibly Dolan and Davidson, for Arty and VDM maybe marginally improves the team but really like moving deckchairs on the Titanic.

During the pregame warmups when the team lined up for sprints, Treloar only made it half way when the rest of the team had finished, I think he'd make Cliff Young look fast

Feels a bit like arranging deckchairs on the titanic BUT we were competitive last week when we upped the pressure rating - if we go with that we need to add people who like pressure.

Gards struggled but so did Khamis and unless our VFL players can grow 15cm our cupboard is bare AND if Freo can run into three talls with the incredibly low pressure the Swans faced in the second half - we could play Andrews, Barrass and San Taylor and still lose by 50+ - we need pressure up the ground.

Bont back worked but Bont doing brain surgery would probably work too - he can do anything. I would play him there but starting in the middle and rotating with Friejah - “just do what I do son!”

I am assuming Croft, Artie and Naughton injured as well. And also that Trelor who looked way off the pace will do an Easton Wood and take a few to play himself back into condition. Also assuming English plays.

Need to add to forwards.Khamis is our most dangerous remaining forward (assuming West is still out of form).

Also need to add some desperation - VDM and Walker both have a crack.

FF: Dolan Khamis Lewis

HF: Dale Emmett Kennedy

C: Baker Red Williams

RR: English Bont Sanders

HF: Friejah Buss Coffield

FB: Buderick Gardner Sellwood

Int: Trelor, West, LSmith, Walker, VDM

I am guilty of not realising how young and depleted we would become with a bad run of injuries. If we do get troops back soon there are not many teams we could be beat.

Still gets the ball…. Unlike a few others

Thank you Collingwood
If he can play a full game he’s picked

Wow. That’s appalling!

6 games in a row without a goal for West as well, has had 10 shots for the year for 1 goal, with a Shot Rating (difference between expected score per shot and actual score per shot) of -1.38, last year he was going at +0.26. He's equal last in the comp with Chol in that stat.
