Good change tbh. We need better from our third and small forwards.
McCarthy has been really off last fortnight. Cox deserves his chance

Strange one, McCarthy has been of, but Cox hasdn't set the world on fire either...

McCarthy has the skills. But unlike Cox, he has no one on one ability to get the ball to use such skills. No point being in the side due to his skill set when he can’t get more then a few marks a game.Cox deserves to come in for McCarthy. Might not have McCarthy's skills, but showed a lot more competitive effort in his one game than McCarthy showed in last week and probably week before too. Has the bonus of being able to pinch hit in the ruck too. Of course, that puts another player in the team who's kicking at goal is diabolical. Still, don't mind the change.
As for calls for Darcy. AFAIC, Darcy needs to be absolutely cherry ripe fit and completely in form to get into the team. He just doesn't have that base aerobic capacity and maturity yet (it will come) so he's a bit of a liability around the ground even when in form and injury free - we just can't afford to carry him until he's smashing it at WAFL level. When he's fully up and about, throw him back in and he'll develop.
The caveat there is we do need to look after Lobb as well - so might be a window there soon.
McCarthy is averaging 3,83 marks/game at AFL level. Cox 1 mark/game at AFL and 2 marks/game at WAFL...McCarthy has the skills. What do you mean? Ross will play him in the half-forward death-seat, wait till he has a couple of bad games and delist him? What's the list now -I can only assume Blakely is undercooked at the moment which is why he hasn't been named. Seems pointless when Peel has the bye but hey ho! He might end up being the new Barlow in more ways then we know.
I don’t think anyone deserved to be dropped from last week, I think regardless of the score the team as a whole gave enormous effort and deserves to be back on the park for another go around.
That’s pretty low for a forward. Can’t really say Cox has a great spread of games for averagesMcCarthy is averaging 3,83 marks/game at AFL level. Cox 1 mark/game at AFL and 2 marks/game at WAFL...
Surely they don't add Blakely into the squad at this point unless he is playing.
Makes a lot of sense to me. Those three can be moved in and out of positions with the flow of the game without any drama at all. But I think Hogan will be playing more McCarthy's role (well, really more of the role suited to Hogan as a mobile forward).Blakely in to CHB or Mid? Think I'd prefer him in the mid with Cerra playing back
Mundy up forward playing McCarthy's role?
Geez thanks for that. I stand corrected I guess lol.I’m so glad you’re not coaching us or involved in the selection of the team. Firstly giving good effort isn’t enough, and secondly we had some terrible performances last week.
So Blakely was always a good chance to play, the selectors just couldn’t find room for him.
