Got the most ball out of all our mids, what were you watching??
In the case of the poster you're responding to and the question you've asked 'Not the game' thats for sure. Some players have been given such a free reign on here while Johnson in recent times has become a scapegoat for poor performance. Eg. Switta's not fully over his injury. He was miles away from his direct opponent multiple times in WNM. Johnson's actually getting the ball way more and also staying close to his man in open play. Obviously his decision making needs work but he's certainly far from being alone in that department.

JL says the axe won't be swung after that performance. So there are no tangible consequences for underperforming players? How does he expect to set and enforce standards then? Maybe he thinks the embarrassment is enough, even though it wasn't after the Geelong or Melbourne games. 🤡🤡🤡

Yeah, they're probably going go come out and play well against Collingwood this weekend, but no one will be surprised when we're in the same position in a fortnight when we get trounced by a poorly performing GWS and we're asking the same questions.

Yep, lot of posters are remembering his turnovers and not the fact that's he's actually improved winning the ball and his overall work rate around the ground.
Just needs to get control of his clangers under no pressure which are the most infuriating..

We are between a rock and a hard place regarding bringing players in as there isn't much there..

Ah yes, I must've missed the amazing impact Johnson had again? Some people are just plain clueless 🤦‍♂️
I've been very supportive of him but, damn, his disposal (especially his first hand pass)...I think he will come good but credit where credit is due Mike. You weren't wrong this week.

Needs to feed out the handball more to an easy option. Seems to try for the higher degree of difficulty one a lot and messes it up. I am impressed that he doesn't seem to go into his shell after the clanger though.

Surely team selection is about choosing the best team not using selection as a means of punishment?

I'm a big Dris fan buy historically when he is rushed in off injury without a build up of games in the WAFL he plays awfully.

I don't think it's fair on him or the team if he comes in underdone.
That's a good point and I seem to remember you mentioning this in past seasons as well. Auto-post button?

You're right about our Peel players, but I think the messaging is as important to both the team and fans/members at this point.

Are we really going to beat Collingwood given how we're playing at the moment? I'd use the opportunity to put the team on notice. We have a tough run coming up and we're unlikely to make finals as it is.

It will be really great to get NOD back.

Absolutely need to drop Draper for a small. Can revise this to:
Out: Young, Draper, Narkle, Switkowski to sub
In: NOD, Voss, Simpson

Switta has lost his point of difference. I think the strength and enthusiasm of Voss is best.

Feel like this is not going to happen though as the roles are surely messed up. Hard to shoehorn Vossy into this team without the ruck/forward role available.

I think what I would try to do is Jackson plays primarily as a mid, vacating the ruck/forward role for Voss. We are absolutely crying out for a big body to protect Brayshaw and Serong. Wagner full time mid, mostly playing wing but rotating wherever needed.

D: Chapman, Pearce, Ryan
HB: Simpson, Cox, Clark
C: Wagner, Brayshaw, Sharp
HF: Bolton, Amiss, Reid
F: Voss, Treacy, Frederick

Followers: Darcy, Serong, Jackson

Bench: Johnson, NOD, Dudley, Worner

Sub: Switkowski

We must address the inability to win contest in midfield, however, there is a worry about forward pressure with that forward line above. Gee it would be great to have Pickett at this club already. We're desperate for that type of player and have been since we lost Shultz.
Omg this is happening! Only one I got wrong was Erasmus in instead of NOD.

god you're all never happy, I would say that is a very interesting team selection. Wonder where Jacko plays, where Wags/Simpson play, who the sub is, where Voss fits in etc.

Quite exciting

Sorry that we didn't drop Switta for well known outside runner and pressure player Will Brodie
