Good decision to bring in Simpson, Erasmus and Voss, but maybe make a statement rather than just dropping fringe guys like Draper and Narkle.

god you're all never happy, I would say that is a very interesting team selection. Wonder where Jacko plays, where Wags/Simpson play, who the sub is, where Voss fits in etc.

When will Switkowski get dropped ?
I wanted to see more of Narkle in a full game. See what he’s about.

Draper was a given. That’s fine.

But gee Switkowsi again and he ll struggle for tackles.
He ain’t it. He’s cooked and done at AFL level

So J-lo's one take away is we were too tall down back. Not that we got smashed in the clearances? Not that Cox is useless?
Narkle was one of the better players last week.

I honestly believe he would have tried to drop Erasmus if not for the fact he wasn't in the team. Thats how clueless here is.

He hasn’t, his soft efforts have been utterly abysmal… I’d play Omac over him.

Draper was gassed. His fitness is my concern. But then a lot of players seem to lack fitness which is a worry.

We are struggling like we always do for 30 odd years.

Too many fan favourites who only perform inconsistently, and too many fan hated ones that only perform inconsistently.


We are good at blaming the Umpires. The AFL. the Coach. the players we hate. But never the players we love


Waht we need it the whole lis of players to lift. never play like that again as they did on weekend.
This is a time i wish Fyfe was still out ther with the team. He wouldnt put up with these efforts on field.

So we dont need wholesale changes. Just the two will be fine. but we need EVERYONE to get out of this Mind Rut they are in .

Read the tea leaves. Voss has come in, which means they're trying to solve contested problems by re-assigning roles from within the team.

My bet is that Jackson is playing midfield.

He objectively has. People pick and choose a scapegoat and then zero in on every mistake they make while ignoring all the good he does. He leads the team in Contested Marks (3rd in the comp), and one percenters, 2nd in intercepts and marks, and has the best 1v1 loss rate on the team. I promise you his two soft efforts a game are not bad enough to outweigh everything else he does.

Mind you OMac was abysmal when he went back vs Crows.

Would like opinions on the following questions:

• Wagner back to defense with Ras taking his wing/inside minutes? Or Cooper playing half back and Wags staying put?
• Jacko playing as a mid? Or Voss sub and Jacko playing his normal role?
• Three potential sub options for me. Simpson, Ras or Voss - Voss would be a weird sub but would make the most sense from a team balance perspective

Indeed they are.

I don't blame the defence for last weekend, they were under siege the entire game. Game was lost in midfield. That's what needs to be addressed most urgently. We've gone from being the best centre bounce team to below average. They are clearly trying some new things in there with this selection.

Yeah but they couldn't get their roles right last week according to J-lo. If we can't get the initial plans right whats the point in reassigning them? Surely the contested will be worse?

Jackson as an onballer is great but inevitably, it's not the fix.
